Really miss having open libraries to get hard copy books to read. Kindle versions just aren't the same.

Hope you are staying safe also Sarah! That's the one thing that has bummed me out. I've recently found out I can only do audiobooks for so long before I start getting a headache or my ears start to hurt from headphones. My local library has an online option to take out e-books. Maybe that's something your library offers?

Thanks for reaching out to the rest of us, SarahG and Amy.
SarahG, wouldn't it be okay to set aside an hour each workday for your audiobooks?

oshizu | 5762 comments Public Service Announcement

This is old news for many of you, but there's a quick and dirty way you can post your Let's Turn Pages progress by the 16th and last day of each month, in time for my updates. It only requires you to choose the right edition of your books. Here we go:

Step 1: Go to your profile and look at [your name]'s Bookshelves.
Step 2: Click on "Stats" at the bottom right of your list of Bookshelves.
Step 3: On the top row, the default setting is "Books." Click "Pages."

That's it! Now you can post an update before I update the entire Participants List and you can always fine-tune your page count later.
(Personally, i track my reads in an Excel spreadsheet but I appreciate that it's not for everyone....).

Yes, my library does offer ebooks and they can be downloaded into the Kindle app on my iPhone or on my Kindle itself but, nothing beats holding a real book to read.

Working at home yesterday, I did find that listening to a book while working seemed to be okay. Not sure why I didn't think about it sooner (moved home to work April 10th). I usually cannot do that at my office as I'm not always at my desk.

Sometimes I will listen to my books when I go to bed but I don't retain much of the story when I do that. I oftentimes have to rewind and listen again anyways.

For many of your, your original message # has changed because one of us accidentally deleted their sign-up post.
Please note that I will not be revising the message nos. on the Participant List for those of you who share the same name.

Please go ahead and use your "original" original message no. or your new one. My sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Also, if you accidentally delete your original message in this challenge or another of the group's challenges, please send the challenge leader a private message. This happens to everyone at one time or another, but you'll save the challenge leader the time-consuming task of checking all the posts to figure out which post was deleted. Thanks!
