I bought and gifted both the P&P version as well as the S&S version and another publisher put out Emma and P&P so my granddaughter (2.5 yrs) has them all. When she heard I was coming to babysit she ran and got the first two of these out!
Where is Mr. Darcy going to be put, Talia? On the shelf with your favorite Darcy stories? :)
Update: Just saw your photo and ha, I guessed right. He looks great up on your shelf.

You are good. Yes, you got it right. My husband even loves the bust. It is so nice and is stamped Chatsworth House on the back. :)
The stamp makes it a lovely authentic collector's item. That's good that your husband admires it, too.
Sophia wrote: "The stamp makes it a lovely authentic collector's item. That's good that your husband admires it, too."It is so high quality that he can't help but love it. I am so happy we got it. As I read my JAFF, I can look up at Darcy now and then.
Sheila wrote: "Love the bust. Really great that your husband is on board with it."He enjoys Mr Darcy. He likes hearing about the different storylines from JAFF. He has never read P & P or seen any of the movies but he knows all the characters from all the JAFF I read. :)
That's an amazing husband!! My kids just ask why I keep reading books with the same people in them and why all the books in the car have British people speaking... LOL!!!
Claudine wrote: "That's an amazing husband!! My kids just ask why I keep reading books with the same people in them and why all the books in the car have British people speaking... LOL!!!"He is very nice and he did grow those Darcy sideburns for me so I am not complaining.
Claudine wrote: "I'd love to see the Darcy sideburns..."Don't you think it should be a mandatory requirement for husband's?
Oh, I can imagine it... I don't need the cravat or all the coats... But those boots, britches and sideburns... Oh my!! Can't forget Berdoll's Darcy with the boots... Can you? And the horse she names Boots... Loved that!!!
A Tapestry of Lives: I read this one today and was so very disappointed. Does it get better in the next two volumes? I have to say that I might not even read them and may sell the lot back to Amazon. I dislike it when Elizabeth goes from the original witty and intelligent to an expert in all areas. I can't tell you how much I disliked this book. Darcy was fantastic as were the Bennets. I don't even know what to say.
Sophia wrote: "Too bad, Elizabeth's character was disappointing for you. And you have a set, ouch!"I decided to return the other two.
Sorry you didn't enjoy this book. I really loved this series and thought the author added a lot of interesting historical references and interesting background stories to the characters. That's why they say two people never read the same book...

That's why..."I wanted to love this series as I do everything JAFF I read but sometimes it just doesn't work for me. Elizabeth is an expert in botany, war, plumbing(?!), etc. It was too much. It kind of put everyone else down because no one could shine as bright as she. It took the simplicity and character out of Elizabeth for me. I would have preferred an expert Elizabeth that did not have to be compared to everyone else as if they were lacking. If someone is gifted, it doesn't make everyone else flawed. To me, every compliment of Elizabeth had a derisive comparison to other women and that didn't sit well.
I am so glad that you liked it. I wanted to!! Going back to The Recovery of FD now which so far is terrific.
It's so true that two people never read the same book, I love that quote.Sorry that book didn't work for you but glad you're enjoying The Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy, I recently reread that one guiltily when I should have been reading a review book :-o
I just tried to pull up The Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy on Amazon and got nothing. So what is the title of the book?
It's unpublished fan fiction Sheila. It's on A Happy Assembly website, written by Lucy S. I have it in word format if you'd like me to email it to you?
992 pages - OMG - I guess I am not going to read this one in a day and I have read her other work, Being Mrs. Darcy. I wonder why she doesn't publish. I would buy her books in a minute.
I actually was just inquiring about that last night!! That book and The Best Part of Love... Even though Ceri hates the angst... Lol!!!

Yes, I read the Best Part of Love, having copied the entire thing into Word so I could enlarge the font size AND put periods in places where they belong: Mr, Mrs, etc.
#52 & #53....two short but fairly sweet ones....The Conversation: with Elizabeth Darcy and Emma Knightley
by Noe *
All Jane Austen's Men, Mr. Darcy's Journal, Poems & Love Letters
McKenzie, Octavia
Loved Being Mrs. Darcy, and yes, it took several days to read the story. Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy was excellent, too. Sometimes I cannot get the font size to change so the small print tends to blur after a couple of hours. A lot of great stories on this site.
The Conversation is a newbie to me, Kirk. I'll have to check it out. And that's good that All Jane Austen's Men is enjoyable, I got that one coming up.
Good. I didn't know how to do that at first, so in case you didn't either, I would show you how to do that...
Okay. I know the green button at the top of the page changes the size, but not all stories seem to change. Goes to a page with the books title, but that's it. Yes, if there's something wrong with what I'm doing, I could use the help
