OK, I bought a paperwhite. I see that I can return it so there is no excuse not to try it. I didn't get to a best buy or Target on my trip last week so I looked up if I could return it instead.Biting my nails a bit about it.
I hope you like it! I love my kindles. So light, and so portable, your library goes with you wherever you are. And I can read in the dark without waking up my husband, LOL.

I second everything Ceri says... I actually read a paperback this weekend that I won in a giveaway and it almost killed me... At one point I tried to swipe a page and another time I touched a word believing the definition would appear.. LOL!! Once you have the convenience of an ereader, it's priceless. I read on my iPhone 6 plus a lot too!

I will let you guys know when it comes.
LOL, so funny! I can certainly relate to the dictionary thing myself!I felt a little sad the first time I read a chunky paperback after reading quite a bit on kindle and found it was really uncomfortable to hold. Plus it's much easier to drink tea while reading on a kindle, I have small hands and books need two hands so I have to pause in my reading to have a cuppa!
I have two kindles, Talia. I have a kindle touch, which is like a paperwhite but it's the previous version so it has no built in light. I got the paperwhite for reading in bed. I could have got rid of the touch but I am fond of it, it's silly, I know. Plus it can hold more books than the paperwhite as it has a larger memory, not that memory is really an issue as all it does is encourage you to download freebies that you will never read.
I started off with a basic kindle but I sold that one to put towards the kindle touch. It did the job, but the navigation on it was such a pain, it had directional arrows rather than a touch screen.
Claudine wrote: "Good luck... Fingers crossed!"Thanks! You guys are why I even thought about it. I will give it a week or so. I heard that it sometimes takes a bit to get used to it. I don't think it should take too long since I have read books on my ipad. The ipad really hurts my eyes though.

I don't think it is silly at all. We get attached to things. Plus, now you have 2 that you like. An heir and a spare!
I updated the shipping speed to get it tomorrow for an extra $3.99. I really want to try it out. You guys are making me crazy.
It was due to getting a kindle that I discovered JAFF, because I searched for Austen's titles on Amazon and some other books came up.You can buy kindle books even before your kindle has arrived so you can enjoy some browsing while you're waiting. If you like classics a lot of them are free on kindle and if you can't find them free on Amazon you might be able to find them to download on Project Gutenberg website.

I have a bunch of kindle books already for the kindle ipad app. But you have a good idea! I should probably get some more JAFF, right? :)
My first JAFF book was at my local library.
If you send me your email, I will lend you a JAFF book. I have so many!!! Then, you can read it on your kindle.
I think you should definitely welcome your kindle to the family by buying it a nice new book from your wishlist ;-)
Claudine wrote: "If you send me your email, I will lend you a JAFF book. I have so many!!! Then, you can read it on your kindle."Oh, that is so nice. We can lend out books? Huh? I had no idea. I guess I should have read the kindle page. Thank you!
Ceri wrote: "I think you should definitely welcome your kindle to the family by buying it a nice new book from your wishlist ;-)"So true! You guys are the best!
But you can only lend out books once for 14 days and not if you are a Prime member or if it is from Kindle Unlimited.
Sheila wrote: "But you can only lend out books once for 14 days and not if you are a Prime member or if it is from Kindle Unlimited."Good to know! But I am a prime member.
Amazon sent my kindle by regular mail by accident so they refunded my shipping. I will let you know how it is on Weds! I got kindle unlimited for a month for free to try it out.
Oh, you'll love it and I'll send the books to you tonight!! I have read so many JAFF books in unlimited. You can borrow 10 books at a time.
Claudine wrote: "Oh, you'll love it and I'll send the books to you tonight!! I have read so many JAFF books in unlimited. You can borrow 10 books at a time."Thanks but I won't get the kindle now until Weds.
Claudine wrote: "No problem... Download them when you can... "As soon as I get it. Thank you so much!
Woots! Just adding my excited feeling to everyone else's for you, Talia. Hope you like your Kindle.
Sophia wrote: "Woots! Just adding my excited feeling to everyone else's for you, Talia. Hope you like your Kindle."I would never have bought one if not for this group. Even though I was a member of goodreads, I didn't come here ever until you made this lovely place for JAFF lovers. So, thank you so much.
I will let you know when it comes. So excited! Still can't decide whatbook to buy.
Claudine wrote: "Ugh!!! Why was it defective?"When I turned it on, there was a small bright light that didn't change when the screen changed. The display was defective. They said they would have a replacement here on Friday. I really hope they do because I am going on a trip and wanted to have it then.
But this week I ordered a pair of binoculars for my daughter's birthday but they sent me a pair that was a different brand and model than the one I ordered. Amazon failed me this week.
That's too bad!! My secretary had to send her kindle back too but she likes her new one.. Good luck!! I hate when I don't have what I need for vacation! I'm going to Tennessee in Saturday. Where are you going?

She is coming for a visit but we will be staying there so she can see the sights.
I'm always amazed how many books everyone reads... Great to see so many author continuing to write and seeing new ones as well.Calculated last months reading and can subtract another 10 more P&P related books off my TBR list making it 72 P&P books read this year... :)
You are really blazing through the books, Dung. Way to go! I love seeing all e books everyone reads, too.
Talia wrote: "The kindle arrived with a defective screen. The replacement will be here on Friday."Nooooooooooo! :(
Good reading, Dung. I've been trying to get through my TBR list, too. Just as I finish one book a new one appears on Amazon. Not getting ahead of my list.
The kindle is here. Looks like it will be really great especially with kindle unlimited. Thank you to everyone for their help with my inquiries and for the book loans! I will get back in a few days with how I like it. I need to figure out how to load and unload books now. :)
If you have any questions, give me a shout. Touch device for books in your kindle that are ready to read and cloud is where the books are that you own, but that aren't downloaded yet to your device for reading.
Claudine wrote: "If you have any questions, give me a shout. Also, how do I see how much space is left in the memory? I looked through the manual but it didn't seem to help. I greatly appreciate your help. Love it so far.
Can't wait to get reading as I just got my glasses changed too!
To remove a book, click on the cover of the book and a menu comes up. Then, select remove and it will be moved off the device and back to your cloud.
