Mr. Bennet Level: 51+ Books
Thanks everyone for directing me on the right path to find "The Best Part of Love". Thanks Claudine for the word doc as well. You ladies are the best! Love the JAFF community!
I think it's written by a lady called Amy. Suzan posts under Redhead I think, or possibly Redstrands.
I can't believe I'm here and so "early" in year for it....I thought there was a slight chance at the end of the year.....#51
Although more than 20% of book is difficult actual facts....it was an excellent conclusion.
It looks to me as though she posted one of the chapters on Amy's behalf for whatever reason. I'm not sure who runs AHA to be honest.
Sheila, I'm so glad you loved it!! I was obsessed with it and still miss those characters a week later!! One of my favorite Elizabeth and Darcys ever... The relationship was built so gradually and beautifully!! I love when he finds her outside at Rosings and he hugs her. I think in her heart that's where he "changes horses" for her. What are you reading now?
Oh Sheila, spoiler alert! Though I was forced to bale before any kind of reveal I decided that it MUST be so, even if the author went another way with it (if I find something I read too angsty, I imagine it a different way, that is what an imagination is for, LOL).
Oh Ceri... Too bad you know but now that you do, maybe you'll just read it because it's sooooo good!!! I also wonder why these fabulous stories aren't published!!! I can't imagine being that talented only to not pursue publishing!!! Have you read Letters from Derbyshire? Just curious because it looks good.

Yours Forevermore, Darcy by KaraLynne Mackrory is out! Waiting to get the paperback because I know I want it on the shelf. http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B014QNMM70...
Letters from Derbyshire is about Elizabeth not being a Bennet and finding out night before Darcyms proposal at Hunsford. Her and Darcy, it turns out, share a 21 year old connection, which leads them to uncover her origins and some very dark family secrets. But hard not Darcy's sister, thank God and I think the secrets involve his family. It has a lot of views and the writing is pretty good so far. I'll go back to out after Karalynne's book. Want me to email it to you?

Yes, I got it today and started it too. Hopefully I get to read it, as now I'm back to work. I'll send you Letters and I'll let you know when I start it. It looks pretty good.
The one you're referring to sounds like a published book I've read, A Peculiar Connection, though it has a different starting point, here it's when Lady C visits Longbourn.
Yes, I read that but it's not Letters. Letters is a completely different story. I'm going to go back to it after I finish KaraLynne's book.
I read two more books: Netherfield Park Quarantined and The Ashes of Longbourn. These books are a kind of a guilty pleasure. They are crazy from start to finish with poorly done, over-the-top characters. If you ever watched and liked the soap opera, Passions (Timmy!), you will probably like these. Last night, I looked through the beginnings of many Amazon unlimited P & P variation books which I passed over. If I had one wish, it would be that author's would read their work out loud before publishing and when editing their work to ask each word if they add anything to the whole. I finally decided on reading Ardently: A Pride and Prejudice Variation
Claudine wrote: "You will ardently admire Ardently!! LOL!!! It's one of my favorite!!"I like how E's Aunt referred to Caroline as Miss Billabong. :)
Talia, I totally agree with you that some authors need to read their stories out loud to look for the errors they might normally miss. It's frustrating trying to figure out what they meant!!
Erika wrote: "Talia, I totally agree with you that some authors need to read their stories out loud to look for the errors they might normally miss. Editing your work can be very rewarding as it makes the piece much tighter.
Sheila-sounds like you really enjoyed BPL. I loved it and like you kept reading it till the early hours. It was such a fantastic read -yes,full of angst but thankfully we got our happy ever after for Lizzy and Darcy. I rate it so highly that in my humble opinion, it should be read by all lovers of Jane Austen. Oh to be able to write such an endearing story!
YTD Total: 30 - Now that I have joined, going to really get on it! So late in the year, aiming for just enough at 51 :)Please see shelf for titles and ratings so far :)

You can do it.
Can you post the link for Letters from Derbyshire? Claudine wrote: "Oh Ceri... Too bad you know but now that you do, maybe you'll just read it because it's sooooo good!!! I also wonder why these fabulous stories aren't published!!! I can't imagine being that talent..."
Just finished Ardently: A Pride and Prejudice Variation. Wow, I loved this book. It was so witty and charming. My only negative is that the author has just this one book written. It was amazing.
I have finished A Will of Iron, The Heir to Longbourn, and Compromised! - A Pride & Prejudice Variation.I loved the Will of Iron. It was so witty and fun. Have to get the paperback of this one. It is a keeper.
The Heir to Longbourn was a bit dull but very well written. If you liked the P D James book, you may like this one. I am on the second one of the series now.
Compromised is full of compromises and was a lot of fun. Short and light with extreme characters. The Bingley in this book may be my least favorite Bingley of all time.
A wonderful group of reads, I see, Talia. That's great and reminds me, I need to get my copy of Will of Iron.
Sophia wrote: "A wonderful group of reads, I see, Talia. That's great and reminds me, I need to get my copy of Will of Iron."It was so good. I have to buy that one as well on paperback. I just ordered Tapestry of Lives 1-3 as paperbacks to read. I heard here they are really great so I went right for the paperback.
So glad I got my kindle. Thank you so much for helping me with that. I would feel lost without it now.

You're welcome! I may be fast, but I meant that seeing your pile motivates me to read more of my Austenesque/JAFF books. I see all those solid ratings on books I have still to read and it makes me eager.
I guess I should have said, 'You encourage me', instead. Haha!

You will love the Tapestry of Lives series... Similar in some ways to Stan Hurd's series... Close to canon, clean romantic scenes, interesting historical insights woven into the story, but a completely different series... Pure brilliance and I can't wait to see what you think...

It only took that much to know I would love it so I ordered the books.
It's so great having friends that you know love the same books as you. That's why we usually circle our reading and parallel each other at times... I just read my review of the series again and had a big smile on my face... Enjoy!!!
Last night, I read Poor Mr. Darcy: A Pride & Prejudice Novella. I really liked this book until the rushed ending. I want to give it 4 stars but why did the author not wait a bit longer to finish this off properly? I have to give it three for that but it is really a fun read.
Hi everyone! I just finished
my 51st book for the challenge so I'm officially in Mr. Bennett's library! (I gave it 4 stars by the way, it's a fun collection of 3 novellas.)
Yay for you, Kim! Fantastic that you hit book 51 and it was fun at that.

Way to go, Kim. I hit 51 at Ardently by Caitlyn Williams. I'm up to 72. Now, I can certainly tease my dear friend and tell her to in the spirit of Louisa Musgrove to "Catch Me"! Happy Firth Day too!
I am happy to report that the library has Cozy Classics: Pride and Prejudice. I finally got to read and and took it home for everyone in the house to read. I highly recommend this book for future Darcy fans.

This group is the best so thank you! Still loving my kindle. Another reason why kindle is better than the kindle app for ipad, I can't check my mail. That is awesome.
