She thinks him a fool and petty. He will not acknowledge the arrow shot as a question. She calls him a destroyer. She sees nothing of his glory, recalls no details of the worlds they once made together, so beautiful they often rested on a nearby star for time uncounted to watch them bloom.
“You say you love me,” she says. “Show me. Restore Dublin. Heal their world and mine.”
“Why have you always cared so much about these tiny worlds?”

Okay this is not important, I just wanted to share for fun. I found on ebay an actual copy of Burned that will be shipped right after purchase, right? Guess what the f****** price is: $99.00 excluding the shipping cost. And somebody actually freaking BOUGHT it. bought the. ninety. nine. *******. dollars. book.I don't blame them. I would've bought it too. lmao. Story time over.

Is it wrong that I'm actually more interested in what their college major was or how they got such an amazing career where they can pay $99 for a book? Because obviously I'm doing something wrong here, otherwise I'd buy all my books that way.

Forget the money for buying Burned when it comes out, I'm taking that money and buying lottery tickets. That way I'll be able to buy my favs BEFORE they're out for years to come. Or I won't win and end up getting it from the library. That's about as far as risks that I'm willing to take.

Yeah I know right! Ryodan is a lot less emo and emotionally constipated than Barrons. (I still love you Barrons!) It's refreshing that he actually shares things with Dani, and he also shares her love of being alive. Also, I feel as if Dani would need someone who's emotionally open and honest, due to her being deprived of love for so long. So, I feel as though in the next couple of books we're going to hear some pretty touching things come from Ryodan's mouth. ;)

Unseelie King and Queen: so, I only read parts of three of the Highlander books (it really wasn't my cup of tea) but I remember the Unseelie queen being really petty and annoying and wanting to mess up and ruin people's lives. Am I remembering wrong? Doesn't seem to match up with how she wants to save Dublin now...

I know this is off the topic!! But let's talk a bit about the scene we hate the most in Iced? For me it's where Dani looks up at Ryodan after she and Jo talk about the boinking. And Dani says her eyes says don't you pick her again!!! And Ryodan looks over her shoulder and NOTS at Jo the Ho!!! I nearly had a mental breakdown!!

maybe they're holding off on the Dani ones, b/c they're too spoiler-ish. With them not sharing barely any for her, makes me wonder, what's going on with Dani now.
$12? isn't that what most HB books are anyway. IT's like $17, right now and that's a pain for me. I"m getting for kindle first and wait to see if hardback price goes down later. Plus my UPS guy always delivers like 8pm and I need the book in the morning on the 20th.

I would love it if Dani will tell Ryodan that he needs to leave her alone and go and keep Jo happy in Burned!! It will show me that Dani is now growing up! And the woman in her is out for sum payback!!
Ok, great question Inanda! Scenes I hate:#1 When Ryodan abuses Dani and hurts her in front of the club and upstairs. I HATE how he treats her. That said, it is a pretty impressive and moving scene emotionally when she won't back down to him even when she is hurt and crying and then he sees all her thoughts and feelings...
#2 When Dani sees Ryodan having sex and laughing on level whatever. And she keeps remembering it. Poor girl! She is 14 and should not be exposed to that kind of stuff! And of course him boinking Jo should be added to this #2.

I liked #1 because Ryodan got to see all those emotions in Dani's eyes hahaha The violence was startling but keep in mind he isn't human and the rules society had in place before the walls fell no longer applies. I think he was making Dani hurt as much as he hurt and expressed it in a way she'd understand at 14.....does that make sense?
Okay, so a brand new excerpt was just released yesterday (me thinks) and it finally mentions Dani. This is kind of spoilery so you've been warned. Mac brings up how Dani has been in Fairy for 3 weeks. No surprise there since we all knew she had to age up somehow. My worry is that her return from there won't be until the last page as a cliffhanger. I'm really hoping that won't be true because I need some Dani/Ryo time to make up for the wait!
If Dani was in Fairy wouldn't her aging slow down? I read that teaser as well and I wondered if Dani was using Fairy to hide from Ryodan or to search for Christian.
I didn't even think he was trying to make her hurt as much as he was. Maybe because I wasn't sure what his feelings were. I think he kept pushing her in front of everyone to shut her up. She would have fought back or started yelling at him. He knows that. So I think he had to get tough to put her in her place and to make a statement to the club that he was in charge of her. She was reckless.

I don't think anyone should be with someone who abuses them. But of course, the Fever world is a world unto itself, and I think eventually Dani and Ryo will make and amazingly strong team and couple. I felt that way the first time I read it but my perspective has been changing over the last week listening to it on audio. I know my own emotions when I'm reading it and listening to the audio feels like you're getting the author's voice at least to me. The way the man read it had me picturing Ryodan at his breaking point and at a loss of control. It was like he was pissed at her for making him feel that or something. Ryo could work on some communication skills hahaha
I've listened to the audio repeatedly. I feel the same way. LOL. When he got upstairs, I felt like he was reaching his breaking point. It was just too good.
From the theories I've read, some places slow down time (like the ones Mac's been to) but others could speed it up. I'd imagine a place like the Unseelie Prison would be one of those sped places. Now that's a place Dani would have some fun!

What scene do you hate, Hazelwileyed?I've been sitting here wondering that myself lol and I guess the scene I hate the most is when Jayne ambushes Dani and steals her sword. I had a lot of respect for Jayne until that point. He nearly got her killed because of his pettiness. His thinking that what he was doing was the most important thing in Dublin was narrow-minded. It's great that he and the guardians capture Fae but I don't necessarily agree with killing them all. It seems too much like genocide to me and I don't like it. And if they figured out that iron hurts Fae then why aren't they trying to develop weapons made of iron that might could be more effective against the Fae?

She would kill up everything if Christian kept her down there. I thought how fitting.

He said he'd been there for three years but only a few days/weeks had passed outside. I think that is how Dani is 19 in the next books.

Yes! Exactly! I just hope she gets out and has interaction with everyone else! Also hope she has her sword with her wherever she may go. Wonder how Jayne will handle things while she's gone?

I don't mind if she ages while in fairy, as long as we get to know what happens to her while she's there and we get to see her grow/age. If she is completely AWOL and then just turns back up like... I'm back and 19 years old now... that will suck.
I couldn't agree more! Her journey while there would probably be awesome. I wouldn't want to be kept in the dark just so that I'm surprised when she comes back and we see how much she's aged. What if she has no idea that she ages until she returns and the jaws started dropping. Haha
Yes KimeyDian! I want to see her struggle. If she is going to age years, she needs to really age years, not lose them. It would be so dumb if yeah, she comes back and just has physically aged so it's like, yeah,now Dani can have sex because she isn't underaged! uggh... she needs to grow emotionally too
