“God does not step in and adjust minute details on a whim.”
“You are not God. You are the Unseelie king, once the true queen’s consort. You built an army of monstrosities and took them to war against my people. And destroy is precisely what you do.”
Once, she helped shelter his monstrosities. Believed they deserved the light. That they could be perfected, freed. “For you, my love.”
“I am not your love. I am Aoibheal, Queen of the Fae. Return me to my court. I am needed there.”
“Return you for what? You can do nothing to repair the rift between your world and theirs, the many rifts in them both. Abandon it and abandon your foolish, petty court.” Choose me, he doesn’t say. Not that insignificant world. Not those tiny, inconsequential beings.
“To live with a foolish, petty king?”
She thinks him a fool and petty. He will not acknowledge the arrow shot as a question. She calls him a destroyer. She sees nothing of his glory, recalls no details of the worlds they once made together, so beautiful they often rested on a nearby star for time uncounted to watch them bloom.
“You say you love me,” she says. “Show me. Restore Dublin. Heal their world and mine.”
“Why have you always cared so much about these tiny worlds?”
“Why have you never?”
He had once. When she’d cared about him. He’d made himself small for her and walked in her manner, tending small things. But being small was so much more complicated than being God. “If I do this for you, will you share my bed of your own volition?”

BURNED

I don't blame them. I would've bought it too. lmao. Story time over.

That's crazy

Lol

Or I won't win and end up getting it from the library. That's about as far as risks that I'm willing to take.

Yes Inanda! That is what I love about Ryodan. He is so mu..."
Yeah I know right! Ryodan is a lot less emo and emotionally constipated than Barrons. (I still love you Barrons!) It's refreshing that he actually shares things with Dani, and he also shares her love of being alive. Also, I feel as if Dani would need someone who's emotionally open and honest, due to her being deprived of love for so long. So, I feel as though in the next couple of books we're going to hear some pretty touching things come from Ryodan's mouth. ;)

Oooooohhhh! I HOPE SO!!!
About the $99 book... Wow... I guess if I was rollin in the dough I would buy it too... don't you want to know who bought the book and what they're like? lol
Unseelie King and Queen: so, I only read parts of three of the Highlander books (it really wasn't my cup of tea) but I remember the Unseelie queen being really petty and annoying and wanting to mess up and ruin people's lives. Am I remembering wrong? Doesn't seem to match up with how she wants to save Dublin now...

And I'm over here complaining about having to spend $12 on it! LOL.

"'Autocratic' has a picture of Barrons next to it in the dictionary. Unfortunately so does 'addictive.'"

I would be extatic to get a teaser from one of those. :)

Yikes. Another Mac quote about Barrons. I just have this feeling that any Dani quotes will blow my mind right now.

Here is just a few of my fav's, in no particular order.....
"Dying is overrated. Human sentimentality has twisted it into the ultimate act of love. Biggest load of bullshit in the world. Dying for someone isn't the hard thing. The man that dies escapes. Plain and simple. Game over. End of pain...Try living for someone. Through it all-good, bad, thick, thin, joy, suffering. That's the hard thing." - Shadowfever
"Kahlil Gibran says Your joy can fill you only as deeply your sorrow has carved you. If you’ve never tasted bitterness, sweet is just another pleasant flavor on your tongue. One day I’m going to hold a lot of joy." - Bloodfever
“Distinguish yourself [...] in an age where girls often make themselves too available to boys, by making him work a little for your attention. He'll think he's won a prize when he gets it, and he'll work that much harder to keep it. Boys turn into men and men put a premium on what's hard to get.” - Darkfever
“It‘s funny how, when things seem the darkest, moments of beauty present themselves in the most unexpected places.” - Dreamfever
“Nobody looks good in their darkest hours. But it's those hours that make us what we are.” - Faefever
“Who and what we surround ourselves with is who and what we become. In the midst of good people, it is easy to be good. in the midst of bad people, it is easy to be bad.” -Iced

maybe it was lined in gold or something. Or came with one free ride in KMM's lambo.

maybe they're holding off on the Dani ones, b/c they're too spoiler-ish. With them not sharing barely any for her, makes me wonder, what's going on with Dani now.
$12? isn't that what most HB books are anyway. IT's like $17, right now and that's a pain for me. I"m getting for kindle first and wait to see if hardback price goes down later. Plus my UPS guy always delivers like 8pm and I need the book in the morning on the 20th.

What do you want to say about that scene? LOL.

ma..."
LOL. I bet you do need that book early in the morning. I will be at work then.
I figure it would be spoiler-ish because she is open in a lot of ways.

#1 When Ryodan abuses Dani and hurts her in front of the club and upstairs. I HATE how he treats her. That said, it is a pretty impressive and moving scene emotionally when she won't back down to him even when she is hurt and crying and then he sees all her thoughts and feelings...
#2 When Dani sees Ryodan having sex and laughing on level whatever. And she keeps remembering it. Poor girl! She is 14 and should not be exposed to that kind of stuff! And of course him boinking Jo should be added to this #2.
Think that's it :)

Neither of them scenes bother me....wait except the Jo part.

Totally makes sense! :) I just don't like it. I don't think anyone should be with someone who abuses them. But of course, the Fever world is a world unto itself, and I think eventually Dani and Ryo will make and amazingly strong team and couple. What scene do you hate, Hazelwileyed?
Stacy: Agree with you completely!

That makes sense. I felt that way the first time I read it but my perspective has been changing over the last week listening to it on audio. I know my own emotions when I'm reading it and listening to the audio feels like you're getting the author's voice at least to me. The way the man read it had me picturing Ryodan at his breaking point and at a loss of control. It was like he was pissed at her for making him feel that or something. Ryo could work on some communication skills hahaha

I've been sitting here wondering that myself lol and I guess the scene I hate the most is when Jayne ambushes Dani and steals her sword. I had a lot of respect for Jayne until that point. He nearly got her killed because of his pettiness. His thinking that what he was doing was the most important thing in Dublin was narrow-minded. It's great that he and the guardians capture Fae but I don't necessarily agree with killing them all. It seems too much like genocide to me and I don't like it. And if they figured out that iron hurts Fae then why aren't they trying to develop weapons made of iron that might could be more effective against the Fae?

I love when Dani is thinking that the white mansion wouldn't white anymore. She would kill up everything if Christian kept her down there. I thought how fitting.

Yes, remember when Christian was in the prison in Shadowfever? He said he'd been there for three years but only a few days/weeks had passed outside. I think that is how Dani is 19 in the next books.

I forgot about that so now it makes sense. I wonder how long she's been in Fairy then.....

She has to grow mentally. If not, then she would be a 19 year old talking her 14 year crap. Not cool! LOL.
