lol... Cookie why would you go now if it doesn't come out till the 20th?"
some bookstores that have already started selling the book!! Not mine apparently.

Barrons was interested in Mac in a very sexual way from the moment he saw her. Or she felt his carnal, sexual tension, and he said he can smell when she wants to have sex with him, his POV from when he went to her hotel said as much for both of them, and if nothing else that part of it is what I believe. The second time she saw him, he licked her neck and stared at her breasts. That's pretty sexual. Just because he didn't rip her clothes off right away it was clear he wanted to. Mac had noticed it several times before they did anything.
And it's how the nine are written. If it was anyone else yea you can easily be interested in someone apart from any sexual thoughts or feelings. But the nine aren't just anyone. They need and crave constant sex, and their opinions and outlook at woman isn't very flattering, I'm sure they respect and are interested in Dani's abilities and strength right now, as well as her experiences in life that have made her who she is, that will only add to her getting stronger, but when she gets older wouldn't that just add fuel to the fire?
It's true even Barrons seems to have noticed something special and interesting about Dani, and we know there are no sexual feelings there, and he hasn't paid her too much attention. Though she had a huge crush on him, and V'lane. She mentions her fantasies are starting to move away from Barrons to Ryodan territory and she imagines and thinks about the sexual sounds he made when she saw him having sex in the lower level of the club, pictures his face and everything. Now I'm not saying it's wrong or anything more realistic because she's a curious 14 year old girl at that point, it's sort of normal.
If say Jayne Dani saw this strong, loyal, fierce fighter, with neat abilities, smart, and several other things which makes him curious and interested in her I'd say that's fine, after all there had been no hints of sexual chemistry between them and he never tried or said anything so it sounds like this is someone who admires and respects her, they'd become good allies, and friends. But this is Ryodan that's keeping a very close interested eye on her, probably for her abilities and even though he never crossed that line or hinted at it, the fact that a lot of people think they won't just be friends or allies, but lovers in the future, it's either out of love for two great characters who you like so much you think they'd be a great couple, or you saw between the lines there was going to be more, which Ryodan would also see. I don't know if that makes sense. I didn't pick up on it in the book, maybe I just can't picture her as being 19. Logically I know Ryodan didn't feel that way towards her, she wasn't ready for it being so young, I don't even know what it is about them being together I rambled on too long.
Maybe Burned will change my mind once I get used to a more adult Dani?

The one with Christian seeing Ryodan's true feelings for the first time. Omg! "When she's old enough, he intends to be the one." I swooned so hard here. And being Ryodan who never lets out any weak emotions, this revelation to Christian was very intentional on Ryo's part. It's like he's saying, Back off, she's mine. Lol

I hope her aging will help you with any romantic interest. I never saw it as icky.

Anyway I wonder what Mac's response would be, and what she thinks about the Ryodan taking an active interest in Dani? Barrons probably doesn't care, and if he knows I doubt he'd bring it up.

"
oh cool! I hadn't heard that. Maybe I should call all my local bookstores... I already tried looking online for a leaked copy... no luck...
Fresiako, I love that scene too!

Yeah, I love that Ryodan seems discomfited by the idea of her being ready for death more than her. LOL.

So true.

Yes to this! :)

Other scenes I liked where when Ryodan and Dani go searching for evidence and Dani asks Ryodan about who saved her at the church and Ryodan wouldn't admit it was Dancer.
And the quote from ryodan about what kind of name Dancer is anyway. Makes me also wonder if there is something in Dancers name that will be revield later.
I loved the scene where Ryodan asks Dani define love and it's obviously that they no longer are talking about Ryodan and Jo. And later when Dani punches him- not long after he tells her she can never defy him in public again.
I loved the scene when Ryodan wouldn't look at Dani when Lor had put her in a costume.
I loved reading about Ryodan shaking when he gave Dani jello-water. And I'm dying to find out why he was shaking.
I kind of liked the scene where Ryodan was holding Jo, because it made Dani jealous. Weird rigth? But a young girl having ha secret/unconsious crush on a man isn't that weird.
I liked the scene when Dani came to Chesters after spending the night with Christian and Ryodan forced her to wash of the "stink".

Other scenes I liked where when Ryodan and Dani go searching ..."
i love this so much Winnie!

And the scene where Dani discovers that Ryodan doesn't know anything about Batman. Lol, and she makes him choke with laughter repeatedly.
Or the scenes where Dani and Ryodan become like a power couple lol. When they work together to defeat something, Like when they both transport Jo away from the HKF. Or when they inherently understand each other without having to say anything in action scenes. (example, Dani becoming a locomotive to push Ryodan forward) It's reminiscent of Mac's and Barrons long winded eye convo's while being a bit more (in my opinion) believable.

I'm listening to the book on audio right now and I recommend rereading or listening to the audio again. Ryodan definitely has sexual feelings toward Dani. He even mentions to her at one point that in another time at 14 she would be a wife and/or mother. He's immortal and has learned to be patient. He will wait until she's older to "claim" her so to speak but make to mistake he has his sights on her. Lor makes comments throughout the book trying to help Dani understand or get used to the idea of Ryodan in a different manner but at 14 she obviously isn't picking it up or doesn't want to at this point. I think listening to it being read by someone the way the author intended helps give a better idea.

That's right! I think Lor might be in my top 5 of favorite characters in the series. He is funny and blunt, you can't ask for more than that. I certainly hope he's featured more in BURNED.

I listened to this after reading the hard copy. Loved it.

Gah! The boinking scene was horrible. Lmao.

That's very true! He cracks jokes and smiles. But only in Dani's presence ;)

I think she is going to be so traumatized by Ryodan's eventual break up with her that she's going to turn into a villain

I waver between what I think might happen with Jo.

Cookie that's brilliant!! He won't even really break up with her he'll just cease contact and it'll kill her, she'll no longer get the nod. I never thought about that, I like that way you think!

Oh no...come on KimeyDiann. You got to have a favorite scene.

I agree, I'm at the end of the audio again now and Ryodan just told Dani that Jo will die if she knows about him not dying and that made me remember what Barrons told Mac about them only killing women the others loved or cared for so that means Jo is really a flavor of the month until Dani is old enough. He also freeze framed away when she asked why she gets to know....we all know he heard her.

LMAO!!!!!

It's going to be a scene that's popcorn worthy hahaha I can't wait either.

Yes Inanda! That is what I love about Ryodan. He is so much more emotionally accessible than Barrons ever was. He is so honest and shares a lot of information with Dani.

Oh no...come on KimeyDian..."
I'm really fuzzy on what all happened in Iced. The main scene I remember that I really liked is when Dani almost dies of hypothermia and Dancer strips down to give her his body heat. Then he throws the fact in Ryodan's and Christian's faces that they can't warm her up like he can.
I found the quote: "Rule #1 of the universe: the crap always hits the fan. It's the nature of crap. It's a fan magnet."

Yes Inanda! That is what I love about Ryodan. He is so mu..."
Yes!!! That's why I like that finger breaking scene. Even though he was mad, I got so much more from him than I ever did from Barrons. I thought it was amazing.

Oh no......"
KimeyDiann, she did have a bunch of great quotes. Are you re-reading now?
