I rarely reread books but I decided to reread Harry Potter for a buddy read in another group and I'm glad I did. It has been several years since I read the series the first time. I enjoyed getting reacquainted with the gang from the beginning. There are so many things I had forgotten. I loved Harry's discovery that he was a wizard and his introduction to Hogwarts, when he met Hermione and Ron and started developing friendships with them, and his rivalry with Malfoy. This series got better with each book so I'm looking forward to rereading the rest.

Unfortunately Ezi's internet went out and I am sooo not a techie.
I didn't want to wake my husband since it was almost midnight :(
Sorry team, I should have posted my review when I was watching the basketball game. I know better for next time

Book: Revenant by Larissa Ione (Demonica, Book 11)
Read: 11/19
Rating & Review: ★★★★1/2
I won't say to much since this book hasn't been published but it was another great installment to this exciting series.
Revenant is Reaver's twin that was raised in Hell. Now that his memories are restored, he struggles with his identity. Who he should have been, who he was told he was and who everyone thinks he should be now.
Blaspheme, on the other hand, knows exactly who she is, but has to keep her identity secret from those who seek to harm her.
We have two sort of lost souls trying to find their place in the realm.
What I love about Ione is that her stories aren't typical. Normally Angels are good, demons are bad. But not here, everyone's got an agenda and no one is necessarily all good and all evil (with the except of Satan who is all evil). Everyone has their own agenda, thus it's difficult to trust anyone because you don't know who is truly on the side of good and evil.

Review: I really enjoy this series. Each book can stand-alone but they are much better read in series and I like that....
Wrath volunteers to live and work outside Homeland, where he'll once again be confined in a small space with other males. He was subjected to horrific abuse and conditioning and forced to view endless sex tapes of human females while chained to Mercile's perverted machines. Wrath knows he's too dangerous and emotionally damaged to ever be with a female.
Lauren has just been detained by three big, buff, well-armed men-New Species. One of them really catches her eye. He's tall, sexy and . . . her new roommate, apparently. Having never met a man this spectacular, she decides to taste every inch of his amazing body. Wrath is definitely open to that plan. The sex is incredible and he gives her everything she needs-but he'll only go so far. Something is holding him back.
Lauren has to make him unleash his desire and Wrath has to get past his fear if the couple wants any chance at a future together.

Murders, magic and romance involving the standard UF trifecta of witches, vampires and werewolves. A solid and quite entertaining series opener IMO, though it doesn't really stand out from the mass of the genre. Figuring out the bad guy took me about 3 seconds after the character first showed up, and how long it took Gwen and her allies to catch on to that was quite frustrating. Still, I liked the world and the characters and might pick up the next book in the series at some point.

So last week the cable company said it was the weather. Today, they claim they suspect squirrels chews the cable line because supposedly squirrels like the humming etc.
Whatever. I am having issues with internet. But I am hopeful as I am on right now.
I will check back around 11p for Amanda

Book: Mortal Heart (Alternative Read: Color Silver/Grey)
Read: 11/22
Rating & Review: ★★★★.
This was another great installment to the Fair Assassins series. IT was finally Annith's turn to serve Mortain and finally get to the root of why the Abyss has been avoiding sending her into action.
We got cameos from Esme & Sybella (and their men) as the they continue to protect Duchess.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the prior two but it did advance the plot a lot more than book 2. If you enjoy political intrigue, you should really check out this series.

I was surprised by how much I liked this book. It was a cute story about a town of werebears in Georgia where Mia finds herself after her grandfather dies and she inherits his house. A bear cub sneaks in her house and she becomes attached to him and very protective. Ty is the sheriff and the Itan of the werebear clan. He steps in to help with the cub and comes to realize he wants Mia for his mate. His alpha protectiveness of both Mia and the cub is sweet. Both of their families are a little crazy and I am interested to see how the dynamic continues in the rest of the series. This is my first book by Celia Kyle and I will definitely look for more of her books. She manages to weave intriguing characters, a little bit of mystery, romance and humor together for an entertaining story.

Rating & Review: ★★★★.
As many others have said, I too wish the author wrote this book from Four's perceptive. While I loved Tris, Tobias is a character with much more meat on the bones. She took time to develop Four and weave his tale. The story from his POV is much more compelling. These novellas go through crucial periods that marked turning points in his journey from being Marcus Eaton's whipping boy to the man who helped Tris become a leader. I loved it.

Trapped in a science camp dorm overrun with zombies, Rachel has found her little sister but got cut off from Cage. Finding their way back together isn't the hardest thing their group of survivors will have to face in this second part of the Zombie Apocalypse trilogy, though: The journey to the supposed safe zone of Ford Field comes with a number of nasty surprises, and not all of the group will make it there...
Fast-paced action interspersed with humour, romance and tragedy - a quick and entertaining read, just like book 1.

I really have no idea what took me so long to read this series...I love the fast pace of it and can't wait for the next story.
Curiosity is definitely going to get me dead one of these days. Probably real soon.
I'm Gin Blanco.
You might know me as the Spider, the most feared assassin in the South. I’m retired now, but trouble still has a way of finding me. Like the other day when two punks tried to rob my popular barbecue joint, the Pork Pit. Then there was the barrage of gunfire on the restaurant. Only, for once, those kill shots weren’t aimed at me. They were meant for Violet Fox. Ever since I agreed to help Violet and her grandfather protect their property from an evil coalmining tycoon, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m really retired. So is Detective Donovan Caine. The only honest cop in Ashland is having a real hard time reconciling his attraction to me with his Boy Scout mentality. And I can barely keep my hands off his sexy body. What can I say? I’m a Stone elemental with a little Ice magic thrown in, but my heart isn’t made of solid rock. Luckily, Gin Blanco always gets her man . . . dead or alive.

Gwen Frost is a gypsy with the gift of psychometry which gives her psychic impressions from the things and people she touches. She is a student at Mythos Academy with other warrior students to learn how to use her powers. The students at Mythos Academy are off to a Winter Carnival at a local ski resort where Gwen finds herself fighting for her life against a Reaper once again. Gwen's crush, a Spartan warrior named Logan, helps her out against the Reaper and their relationship finally seems to be progressing. I hope they can get past Logan's secret. There is the usual teen angst of a YA book, but it is not overbearing. I enjoyed how mythology was weaved into the plot and the development of the secondary characters in this installment. At the end, Gwen discovers the truth about her mother's death and is faced with an important quest for the goddess Nike. I look forward to finding out she handles this quest in the next book.
