This is a fantastic book! I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read it, but it is definitely one of my favorite books for 2014. Colleen Hoover has a knack for drawing the reader in and getting you so emotionally invested in her characters that you don't want the story to end. Sydney Blake is blindsided when she finds out her roommate and boyfriend have been sleeping together behind her back. Her neighbor, Ridge Lawson, breaks the news to her and offers her a place to stay in exchange for writing lyrics for his band. Ridge and Sydney were perfect for each other. I did feel bad for Maggie until seeing her relationship with Ridge explained from her POV in the end. I really liked the epilogue posted on the book website which gave closure for Maggie's character as well. The lyrics woven throughout the book are awesome and the songs by Griffin Peterson are pretty good too. This was a unique concept for a book and Colleen Hoover did an awesome job with it. Now I want to know what happens with Bridgette and Warren in Maybe Not.

Evie Stryker is back in Fool's Gold teaching dance classes after a disappointing end to her professional cheerleading career. She finds herself working and living next to her brother's business parter, a lawyer named Dante Jefferson. The chemistry between these two is hot but Dante has it ingrained in him that he doesn't do relationships. He helps Evie work through her tumultuous relationship with her mother and get closer to her brothers and eventually realizes that he was wrong. Their HEA is sweet and I really liked how this book focused on the town of Fool's Gold and all that was going on around Christmas. It was nice to catch up with characters from previous books as well.

I really liked this fast paced trilogy.
During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.
In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.
With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.
Even if it costs her eternity.

I am really enjoying this series.Just when I think I have it figured out,it changes....Old habits die hard. And I plan on murdering someone before the night is through.
Killing used to be my regular gig, after all. Gin Blanco, aka the Spider, assassin-for-hire. And I was very good at it. Now, I’m ready to make the one hit that truly matters: Mab Monroe, the dangerous Fire elemental who murdered my family when I was thirteen.
Oh, I don’t think the mission will be easy, but turns out it’s a bit more problematic than expected. The bitch knows I’m coming for her. So now I’m up against the army of lethal bounty hunters she hired to track me down. She also put a price on my baby sister’s head. Keeping Bria safe is my first priority. Taking Mab out is a close second.
Good thing I’ve got my powerful Stone and Ice magic — and my irresistible lover Owen Grayson — to watch my back. This battle has been years in the making, and there’s a chance I won’t survive. But if I’m going down, then Mab’s coming with me...no matter what I have to do to make that happen.
Good job Sue.
I love Gin Blanco and I hate to admit it but I liked Mab as she was a fabulous villianess

Book: No Good Duke Goes Unpunished (Alt. Read: Published in 2013)
Read: 12/29
Rating & Review: ★★¾.
I had hoped the author would redeem the heroine but in the end it wasn't enough to overcome my intense dislike for Mara Lowe.
The Duke of Lamont woke up after a night of drinking and debauchery covered in blood only to find out he "murdered" Mara Lowe. He couldn't rember anything but he was naked and covered in blood. His father disowned him and the ton dubbed him a murderer. So that night changed the course of his life.
Imagine his surprise/horror when 12 years later, Mara comes to him willing to trade the truth for money. We quickly find out that Tenple couldn't remember that night because Mara and her accomplice, her brother, gave Temple enough Laudnaum to fell an ox. What happened? Where has she been? Why return now and for what? How did they pull it off? As Temple asked her for answers for why she ruined him, she just wanted a payoff.
Everything out of this chit mouth required a monetary payment, I didn't find her background story nor her current works compelling as an excuse for her gold digging ways. 12 years is a long time for what she did. I was unable to get past it to enjoy her Conscious Coupling with Temple.

Kitty's Big Trouble by Carrie Vaughn (Kitty Norville #9)
Finished: 02 January 2015
Rating: ****
Kitty's research project into which famous historical figures might have been supernatural creatures is interrupted by a call from Anastasia, asking for Kitty's help in finding a powerful magical artifact in San Francisco before Roman can get his hands on hand. With Ben and Cormac in tow, she sets out to join Anastasia's quest, which proves far more dangerous than the small group had hoped and has them not only directly going up against the ancient vampire, but even brings them face to face with a few actual gods. Fast-paced and highly entertaining all the way through, just how I like my Kitty books.

Finished: 03 January 2015
Rating: *****
On the run from Dorothy and Paxco's security forces after being accused of murdering Chairman Hayes, Naadie, Nate and their small group of friends have gone into hiding in the Basement, forced to trust their survival to a notoriously brutal gang leader. But they can't hide forever, and with conditions in the basement worsening day by day and violence erupting at every corner, they stake their lives on a desperate gamble to get the truth about Dorothy and Thea out and take them down, whatever the cost.
The pulse-pounding finale of the Replica trilogy was everything I could have hoped for, with an intense plot filled with thrilling action and suspense interspersed with romantic moments and a bittersweet yet somehow perfect ending. Why aren't more people reading these books? This trilogy has been among my favourite dystopia series from book one, and the great conclusion only confirms its place.

I really like this fast paced series...
3rd in the Cyborg Seduction series. Being a female mechanic on a space station for eight years has taught Dawn a lot of tough life lessons that have hardened her heart. She’s got a temper and a mouth to match her red hair and has never backed away from a challenge. Then she’s kidnapped and blackmailed into agreeing to be a cyborg’s personal sex slave. Iron is one big bastard with long, fiery red hair, intense, dark blue eyes and a stubborn streak as thick as his dense muscles. If Iron thinks he can tame her, he’s about to learn that “meek” is not in Dawn’s vocabulary. But with that handsome face, a body to die for, a wickedly talented tongue and those magical hands, the guy just doesn’t fight fair. Dawn is intent on melting Iron’s icy resolve to never fall in love with a human. He’s winning her heart and she’s determined to win his right back. These two redheads have just met their matches. Let the battle for love begin. Reader Advisory: The big cyborg using his “research” on his new captive during a smoking-hot bondage scene. Woot!
Good job Sue and Denise. Way to knock your books out.

Book: The Resolution of Callie & Kayden (the Concidence, Book 6)
Read: 1/6/15
Rating & Review: ★★★½.
I am docking this story ½ of a star because this was clearly an author extending this series with fluff. This book should have been combined with book 2 because the redemption was full of fluff as well.
What I did love about this book is that Callie is no longer that shrinking violet in book 1. Callie is stronger, more assertive and observant. Callie is LIVING now where as in the beginning, she was just existing.
However, Kayden was still floundering but I understood why. He didn't have a foundation or an anchor. Sure he had Callie's love but he wanted that family or that sense of belonging to a group. He didn't have closure from his parents and his trust was so fragile that he couldn't let his older brother in easily.
I am glad their journey reached a good and comfortable conclusion. I am glad with the relationships they made with their friends. I did like this one a lot, I just had to give the author the side eye for dragging it out over 6 books.

I love how the characters evolved in this installment of the Lux series. Daemon and Katy are great together and I liked that Daemon showed a different, sweeter side of his personality. Of course, the ending is a cliffhanger but at least the rest of the books are already out so I can move on to the next one soon. It seemed like there were a few situations that were drawn out unnecessarily so the book could have been a little shorter but I still enjoyed it and look forward to continuing with the series.

I really enjoy this seies. Such fast pace action and well developed characters.
Charlie’s brother has put her in the no-win situation of having to rescue a cyborg from Earth Government. It’s dangerous, she’ll become an outlaw on Earth, but it’s the only way to save her brother’s life. The imprisoned cyborg is rude, conceited and probably the biggest jerk she’s ever had the misfortune to meet. His only redeeming qualities are his handsome face and sexy, muscular body. Just wow! Still, she can’t wait to be rid of him.
All cyborgs hate humans, but Zorus is consumed by it. Chained, enslaved and facing death on Earth once again, he vows revenge. To his utter astonishment, a human female comes to his rescue. She’s rude, mouthy and bossy. And very brave. She baffles him almost as much as she arouses him. Zorus cannot deny that he’s fascinated by her. They are about to lock wills and ignite a firestorm of desire that defies every rule he lives by.

It's been a long time since I read Night Huntress, but it took me no more than a couple of pages to get back into the story and characters. The story continues fastpaced and entertaining as ever - with an exceedingly dangerous demon loose in town dropping bodies and honing in on Delilah, Supe and Fae women going missing and a secret fraternity dabbling in demon summoning and gang rape, the sisters and their growing group of lovers and allies have their work cut out for them. But it's not all just death and destruction: for some sexy interludes, things between Menolly and Roz are heating up - a development I'd been hoping to see! After this book, I can also definitely say that Menolly's installments in the series are my favourites, as she's my favourite of the three main characters. Already especially looking forward to the next one from her POV!

Book: Ruthless Game (the Ghostwalkers, Book 9)
Read: 1/10/15
Rating & Review: ★★★★½.
I do think this one was my favorite Ghostwalker book or tied with my favorite Ghostwalker book.
Kane was a member of Ghostwalker Team 3. He had volunteered to be a part of Dr. Whitney's breeding program and Rose chose him after Dr. Whitney kept trying to foster his unhinged male experiments on her for breeding purposes.
Kane helped Rose and her sister's in captivity flee and later he found out she was pregnant. Now Kane was tasked with protecting Rose and their unborn child, while also trying to convince Rose that what he feels for her is not because of Whitney's pheromones.
This is best Romantic suspense series I have read and I love this series! I will admit that I didn't like the idea of another Ghostwalker team, this book won me over. There was action from page 1. Kane was a typical Ghostwalker, efficient, loyal and completely against Dr. Whitney's intrusion and use of the soldiers. Rose was a strong heroine, a trained soldier, but her pregnancy was slowing her down. Together, Kane and Rose sizzled. They make an awesome couple and now the author threw in Sebastian. I am wanted more information on Dr. Eric and his actions and I wish we were closer to putting the screws to Dr. Whitney. But I am happy that we get to see the super babies Whitney has been trying so hard to create. I am definitely getting glimpses of how special the kids will be.
We had crossover action with Team 1. We already knew the teams shared information and will continue to work together, having them interact together was a treat. I can't wait for Javier's book.
