Thanks for understanding! Shortly after I posted my first comment our power went out. Not sure if it is a safety shut down (I’m in SoCal with the crazy winds, but no fires here so far 🙏🏻) or something else - we are getting conflicting information. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We will have the generator running tomorrow, hubby works from home so it is sort of required. (I would probably just go to Disneyland if it were up to me! 😂) Anyway, I will have power and can work on your picks then, as long as I don’t forget! 🤞 I can get a little scattered when things are out of whack. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Jamie - The Bookish Attitude (thebookishattitude) | 80 comments Irina Hey Gal! Some fantastic pickens. You've chosen two I've been avoiding bc I hear they are super heavy in the feels. And the only new pick author I've heard of is Vi Keeland, so I'm super excited to get my discovery on.

Laura I'm glad your happy with the final list. I've read four of the ones I recommended and three of them are on my re-readable list so hopefully you like them too.

MountainKat | 31755 comments Nancy H, here are your picks - finally! I hope you find something you like. 😊 Your profile says you like mysteries, YA and historicals - I don't read many mysteries and only a select handful of YA, but I do like some historical romance, so I tried to find some you didn't appear to be familiar with for the new to you options. It doesn't look like you have been reading much historicals lately though, so I did include a few other new books too. 🤞🏼🤷🏻‍♀️ As for the books on your to read shelf, I tried to find the next book in the series for you, but our internet was a little sluggish trying to navigate your large shelf! (No clue why, there shouldn't have been too many people using it since we still don't have power!) As always, just go to the next one for you if I didn't find the right one! Now, after that lengthy explanation - on to picks!

Apple Pie:
NEW: Surrender by Pamela Clare - Loved this book, and the series!! Fabulous in audio too. 😊
TBR: All the Flowers in Paris by Sarah Jio - Looked good to me!

Cherry Pie:
NEW: In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks - The beginning of a wonderful trilogy!
TBR: Death by Jack-o'-Lantern by Alexis Morgan - I've liked other books by the author!

French Silk:
NEW: Untamed by Elizabeth Lowell - An oldie, but a goodie! I did a reread a couple of years ago and loved it even after many years!
TBR: Twisted Twenty-Six by Janet Evanovich - Always fun, out in plenty of time to read in November!

Key Lime:
NEW: The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis - Tilly and Dylan's story - I know I couldn't wait to read it!
TBR: A Summer at Sea by Katie Fforde - Looks tropical!

Lemon Meringue:
NEW: The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen - I don't read much YA/NA, but I loved this series!
TBR: All the Forgivenesses by Elizabeth Hardinger

Peach Pie:
NEW: Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley - Love this family, complicated and crazy as they are!
TBR: Peachy Flippin' Keen by Molly Harper - I've always enjoyed the author's humor!

Pecan Pie:
NEW: Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward - Two new authors, I thought this one was really good!
TBR: No-one Ever Has Sex on Holiday by Tracy Bloom - I couldn't resist this title!

Pumpkin Pie:
NEW: Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean - Love her stories! Not your typical heroine in this one!
TBR: Birthday Cake and Bodies by Agatha Frost - Looking for food on the cover and this one caught my eye!

I hope you find something to love in November!! But seriously, how is it almost November?!🤯

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 990 comments Thank you Caroline, I'm sorry if this sounds picky but I've read Naked in Death could I get new pick for that.

Also could I get a few more picks, generally when doing the pifm challenge, we give our partner 2 books for each category. Usually 1 new and 1 from the posted shelf.

message 83: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 10 comments Hi Carrie. No problem — I can give you a new pick for Naked in Death. I actually only gave you 8 picks because it was explained by the moderator that only 8 were (4 new to you and 4 from your to-be-read list) necessary and because sometimes giving too many picks can be overwhelming. I am at work until the end of the day, but can give you some more picks once I get home. 😊

message 84: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 10 comments Hey again Carrie! Here's two new picks in place of Naked in Death. I double-checked your Read list, so these should be good!

1. Bones Don't Lie
2. Moonlighter

I'll try and get you a couple more later today. Enjoy!

Thank you for the great picks, MountainKat. I just now got on here and checked because I got really sick with a cold and possibly a touch of the flu over the weekend. I am much better now, though, and eager to decide which of your picks to start with.
I hope you are doing okay with the power outages and all the fires in your state. Be safe and have a happy reading month!

Hi Carrie, I just wanted to point out that you can always use the series rule if your picker selects a book you have already read! You are free to ask for a repick in this situation though. 😊

As for more picks - Caroline fulfilled the requirements of the challenge and providing any additional picks is not required. Many of us make two picks for each rule, because it is frequently hard not to, but that is not necessary. Although, when tastes differ, it can be hard to find even the required 4 new picks.

Trip (shardsofromance) | 2210 comments I downloaded a couple of those picked for me and finished Why I Love Bodyguards - Fun easy read, that I'd been putting off since the 2nd book in series wasn't great. Thanks for the pick Chaos!

I've got Murder, Magic, and What We Wore to read soon x

May (maysixx) | 3 comments I've finished two of my picks too, Lies and My Life in Shambles. I've bought a couple more of my picks to keep going.
As for Lies, I'm so glad I've been pushed to read it. I was hesitant when I bought it a while ago, and that's why it was on my shelf for a while. Now I'm so glad I read it because I really loved it.

Fran | 12284 comments Hi Theresa!

I finished The Pumpkin Was Stuffed from your list for me. It was a very cute ending to the short series (I'm hoping she will write more but it's been awhile so I'm not sure). I have three of your new to me picks already downloaded (thanks for the KU picks!). I'm going to see what the next few PtP categories are and try to fit them in. Thanks for the great picks!

I just finished Starry Night (Debbie Macomber). It was such a sweet story! Thanks, again, for the picks! Hope you’re enjoying youy picks as well.

message 99: by Nancy H (new)

Nancy H | 1113 comments Hi MountainKat,
I just finished No-one Ever Has Sex on Holiday and it was absolutely hilarious! No-one Ever Has Sex on Holiday by Tracy Bloom I have tried vacationing in the past with kids (8 of them at once - fortunately not all mine!) and I could certainly relate to the frustrations here. I was not laughing at the time, but this book certainly made me laugh out loud at times. It was great, and I hope to read more by this author, because she apparently has a theme going here, looking at her titles!

Thanks for a great pick!

P.S. I hope you are doing okay amid the fire dangers and loss of electricity!
