When Agnes Bright agreed to a two month trial period as David Lake’s submissive lover, she intended to end her marriage and tell him everything. Will the truth set her free or burn her new life to ashes?

description

Break Me opens where Bend Me ends. Agnes has agreed to a two-month trial period living with David as his submissive. While they are equals outside the bedroom or dungeon, Agnes places her full trust in David during this time. This trust is a big step for Agnes and symbolizes the beginning of her true progression toward moving forward. However, there is still a huge obstacle that Agnes must overcome to truly commit to David.

True to character, David is the ever loving and also fierce lover. David is successful businessman who hasn’t been emotionally attached to a woman until he met Agnes, known as his Eliza. From the beginning, he moved fast and wanted to claim her in every way.

“You’ll soon learn that I’m not someone who dabbles, Eliza. I leap with both feet. When I’m in, I’m all in. And with you, I couldn’t have been another way from the first night we met. I’ve never been with a woman this way before, never told a woman she had touched my heart.”

As their relationship grows stronger, David turns up the heat by commanding Agnes’ body in every way and let me just say, he is one hot Dom! David likes control and he gives Agnes exactly what she craves. The heat and attraction between them is palpable and how can she respond with anything but, “Yes, David!!” ;P

“I’m not coming between your lips tonight. Make yourself cum for me, now because as soon as your swollen and screaming I’m going shoot my cum so deep into your sweet body, you’ll feel like you’ve been branded.”

While all seems to be going accordingly for David, the tension of Agnes’ secret is looming. Once she formalizes the decision to have an honest and loving future with David, she knows what she must do, but Agnes is too late as the unthinkable happens.

"His words hit me like a brick to the temple. I blink, dazed, as the thought chokes me. It couldn’t be true. She wouldn't do that to me.”

For me, Break Me was about soul searching and acknowledging one’s strengths and trying to fortify weakness. Additionally, it's about taking a chance on love. Agnes made a huge transition between books one and two and her journey is commendable except for one big mistake that may cost her the one man she truly loves. There were times when I felt David was being naïve and moving too quickly with Agnes, especially given the facts the reader knows, but his emotional inexperience also makes David’s fierce love more admirable because it is so pure. With the cliffy ending, tension is high and I cannot wait to read the third and final book to see if how David and Agnes can survive shattered hearts. With Sophia’s effortless and elegant style, she is able to capture and convey the emotion and intellect of her characters with ease. If you’re looking for a character driven series with steamy sex and real characters, I recommend this series.

Review of Bend Me (Absolution #1)

Break Me picks up right where Bend Me ends. We see Agnes Bright, alias Eliza Stuart agreeing to be David Lake's submissive lover. And with each passing day, Eliza falls. Falls more for David. Allowing herself to feel and to be loved. She wants more from David, while she cannot give him all of herself. When her world shattered, with the death of her infant son, and with the impending doom of being divorced, Eliza finds herself being untrue to David.

I’m falling in love.
When I’m with him I feel free and vibrant.
It feels safe. It feels right.
It’s a lie.

Not being truthful to David about her own circumstances, coupled with Eliza's own budding insecurities, plays on her emotions and all the secrets she is keeping hidden, with the unknown future on the horizon. Eliza finds herself questioning everything. At this point, as a reader, I felt the tension of the unspoken. Eliza's emotions was intense, while David's own pain was palpable.

As usual, Ms. Scarlet keeps is engrossed with her boisterous and flamboyant secondary characters. I absolutely loved the alternating POV's. Hearing the male perspective in any given story, is always such a plus for me as a reader.

For now, we have to wonder what will happen, will Eliza reveal her secrets on her own, or will they implode everything she has come to know and love, in the small time she has known pleasure, pain and David.

Update Jan 05 2016 : It's Live!!

*** I received this ARC for free from the author, in exchange for a honest review ***

I have read the first novel ‘Bend Me’ about two months ago and loved it. Eliza/Agnes divorce papers still haven’t been signed yet by her husband. Eliza has agreed to a 2 month trial period with David as his submissive. She wants to tell her secret as soon as the divorce papers are signed. David makes her feel safe, cherished, loved, free, understood … and she wants more of this but will she get it? Will Jonathan sign the divorce papers for the divorce HE suggested? Where is he? How long can she keep her secret? Will her lies come out?

I loved this second novel and give it 3.5 stars. I look forward to read the third one ‘Bind Me’ with hopefully an HEA!

What I also loved about this book and the other two is the covers… gorgeous.

This was one HOT panty melting book...my only complaint... CLIFFY FROM HELL!
I love Agnes (Eliza) and David and I equally am falling for Marcus.

This picks up right where book 1 leaves us . David is helping Eliza (Agnes) explore the world of BDSM. He has asked for 2 months of total control and trust with the hopes/expectations of more.
I was a little turned off by the over the top insta-lust/love/obsession that David has for Eliza. He is a sinfully sexy Dom so the way he pursues her and pushes her to be with him annoys me a little. It seems a little desperate at times.

Like book 1 this book is a whole lot of super hot sex with a little bit of story. Eliza is still warring with her own guilt of keeping secrets from David and in the end it may cost her.
The connection is definitely there, the development of the characters is building but just when things were getting good, the shit hits the fan and...THE END.
Damn it! I need book 3 NOW!

*****4 "Broken" Stars*****

This was the second book in the Absolution Series.

Break Me picks up right where Bend Me leaves off... and the ride is *scorching*!

Agnes Eliza Bright met her first Dominant, Marcus, online, and when they first met face to face, back in the first book, it looked like it was going to be a great relationship.. until Marcus' best friend David Lake enters the club where "Eliza" is waiting. One look at each other and all bets, and time with Marcus, ended up being called off.

Now Eliza has agreed to be David Lake's submissive for 2 months to see if they can build a relationship. David is very much a Dominant, and Eliza is a submissive.

Eliza breaks one major rule. She has not been honest with David. She hasn't told him her real name, or that she's still married. Although she's signed her divorce papers, her estranged husband has not. The signed paperwork sits day after day on the breakfast bar at home, and day after day, Jonathan ignores them.

She knows she needs to tell David... but how? When will be a good time? If she does, what will happen?

This story was good, but at times the actual *story* was overshadowed by sex. The sex was hot, yes, but there was just too much of it. I much rather read a story where the sex is not taking place every other page, for pages, where the story is about the characters, what's going on, and the sex doesn't feel like the main component. I ended up skimming a lot because of that. But all in all, when I drilled down past the sex, the meat of the story was a good one.

Worst thing about this book was the major cliffy at the end, so be sure you have Bind Me locked and loaded!

The second in the series, Break Me, continues on with the story of Agnes Bright.

After agreeing to a two-month trial period of being David’s submissive, Agnes finds herself needing and wanting David more than she should. Trust has always been an issue for Agnes, after all the personal trauma and pain she has dealt with in her past. David seems to heal her, to make her live again and she finds herself falling head over heels for him.

From the moment he cast eyes upon Agnes, David wanted her, needed her, lived for her, would do anything to have her as his own. But when a secret from her past, reveals itself and Agnes’s untruths surface, will David have the courage to accept her lies, to accept her for who she truly is?

Whoa. This story was so unbelievable. The world the author created was amazing, between the in depth story line and the deep-rooted characters, this tale will have your head spinning and leave you wanting to know where David and Agnes story will lead. I am still really rooting for David and Agnes to find their happily ever after and cannot wait for the next installment.

Break Me is the second installment of the Absolution Series and take off after Agnes agreed to be David’s sub for 2 months. I was eager and ready to start this book as I wanted to know the journey of Agnes and of David.

To be honest, I was more charmed by Marcus (David’s friend) than David himself. There was something about the guy’s intensity that got to me. I do understand David’s character. He is an impulsive man who acts on instincts alone and fulfills his desire without giving much thought to the rationality of his actions. I’m glad I get to know him more. He’s sweet and in fact lovable but it took me long to actually like him.

I like Agnes. She wants to reclaim something that she felt was lost to her. To reclaim her life and control. But control in a way that she doesn’t have to claim responsibility for all the decisions in life. But although she wanted to explore her sexuality and satisfy her needs, I feel that she isn’t submissive enough. She just needs someone to take care of her, and fulfill her needs. To fill the void that was created when her son died.

The pacing of the story is slow and steady and I like it that way. I get to know the characters more and that I get an in-depth with them. The connection and all that. The ending was something I was expecting. But not in the way of how it happened.

This story is more of soul searching than anything else. And I totally connect with Agnes in that way. She wants to find out of who she is and to be confident with herself. This is a book worth recommending if you're looking for something that focuses on exploring sexuality, being confident with oneself and be brave enough to seek out rather than wait in the side lines. Plus, there's kinky shit and some hot sex. I mean, seriously.

I will likely never write a serial again. I like my endings tied up with a nice neat bow. I need the HEA. This installment of Agnes and David’s story was perhaps the most difficult for me to write. I knew how each of them felt about each other and how their story would end, but they have no way to know what’s coming. They each struggle with their feelings and slowly grow into a better understanding of what their connection means for their future.

I hate it that Agnes had to keep her secrets from David. I asked myself, How do you tell the only person who brings you any joy or solace or safety something that will change the way he looks at you? How do you tell a man you need so desperately, a man you’ve just met, how messy and insecure your life is? How can anyone who’s had a life filled with loving and supportive family understand how it feels to expect abandonment at the first sign of trouble? Would I have been able to risk loosing the only thing keeping me from falling back into despair and hopelessness to tell the heartbreaking truth?

I’d like to think that if I were in her position, I would have been more honest, but I know that David wouldn’t have abandoned her. Agnes has no way to know, no reason to believe, that this man she barely knows has fallen in love with her and would have stood by her if she could have trusted him.

I hope you enjoy the way that Agnes and David explore each other and everything growing between them. Thank you for reading the second part of my Absolution series. I promise to give you part three soon!

I was given this book for an honest review This was the second book in the Absolution Series Agnes has agreed to be David Lake’s submissive on a two month trial and she intends to tell him about her like she is married and her real name is not Agnes but Eliza and about her son dying. Agnes places her full trust in David during this time. Trust is a big step for Agnes and symbolizes the beginning of her true progression toward moving forward. However, there is still a huge obstacle that Agnes must overcome to truly commit to David. True to his character, David is the ever loving and also fierce lover. David is successful businessman who has never been emotionally attached to a woman. As their relationship grows stronger, David turns up the heat by commanding Agnes body and it was hot as hell. As they continue with to get to know each other Agnes finds it harder and harder to tell him the truth about herself. This book to me was hotter than the first one and the ending left me dying to read the next one. This book was well written like the first book with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I'll try to write this without judgement... TRY

We met Agnes/Eliza in the fist book of this series. She's grieving the loss of her infant child that left a huge void in her marriage and she`s getting a divorce. She finds solace in David's arms, a Dom she met at a club that cares for her and gives her the atention she needs and craves; their relationship evolves and things move too fast 'cause they are drawn to eachother, they can't help it... there is a catch though, Agnes is technically married 'cause her husband didn't sign the divorce papers.

I guess Agnes showed she's really naive and poor decision maker, that's what I don't get... how can you keep that a secret? How can they live together and still not see eachother? CALL HIM!

Okay, judging... I'll stop. The sex scenes were amazing but felt too rushed at the end, Sophia Scarlet can really write an erotic scene, they were great.

There are things that did not make sense to me but I'm curious to know what happens... what will Agnes do now? I have to know.

This is my second book written by Sophia, the second in the series, and they are getting better each time! The cover is hot, the characters continue to evolve into people you want to know more about, and the intimate scenes are smoking hot!

Agnes Bright is working through her grief from losing her baby son to cancer, her husband to his grief and now possible the love of her life. She continues to cohabitate with her husband, while confessing her love to David Lake and agreeing to marry him. She has signed the divorce papers but her husband has not and hadn't spoken to her in months. Will her lies of omission ruin her relationship with love of her life? I'm anxiously awaiting the next book to find out!

Received from the author for a honest review. Break Me is the story of Eliiza (Agnes) & David. Eliza is trying to start her life again after the loss of her baby and the end of her marriage. In the first book (Bend Me), we are left with the commitment from Eliza to give David a few months as his submissive. While giving David a chance, Eliza is still not telling David the whole truth about herself. The deeper they fall, the harder it will get. Now I have to wait again for the conclusion of this hot, sexy love story. By the way, love the cover!

***I was given an ARC copy of book 2 of a 3 book story by the author for an honest review. This will be my second story by this author. ***

So Agnes/Eliza has promised to give David 2 months for them to trial their relationship to see if it works. She will be his submissive and he will be her Dom.

I have mixed feelings about Agnes. In book 1 I totally understood why she needed Marcus it made sense to me, she was in pain and she needed to feel pain. Now that she chosen David and they are in a relationship together its harder for me to be sympathetic towards her because now both her and David are developing feelings for each based on Agnes deception.

Because I know the relationship is based on a lie the whole time I am reading the book I keep waiting for the hammer to drop and for David to discover what a fraud Agnes is. So this had me on a razor's edge the whole time. I did not enjoy this element much because whilst I was enjoying Agnes and David discovering each other, the whole time I am waiting for someone to see the two of them out together and blow her cover. Especially as David is a CEO of a successful company. I thought she would get exposed through the press or something when folks saw them out together. Agnes had lots of opportunity to come clean with David and she did not take any of them.

The other thing I found hard to understand was, as soon as Agnes decided she wanted out of her marriage why did she not pursue Jonathan harder to get him to sign the divorce papers. I am thinking if I found someone who loved me and understood me like David does, I would want to do everything in my power to be honest with him and then to be free so could be with him. Jonathan is still a an elusive mystery man as we do not hear much about him except that Agnes can never tie him down for a conversation. We do not know what his feelings are and why he appears to be avoiding Agnes.

Well Agnes' deception gets exposed in the worse way. My heart went out to David and Jonathan. Agnes is going to have her work cut out for her because quite rightly David feels betrayed. All his friends are going to crucify her because they all told her not to hurt him. She hurts him in the worse way and not only that, its very public!!

I was happy to see that Marcus found happiness with someone else that made me happy.

Well it was an engaging, if not a little frustrating read for me. I too prefer a whole story, I find it hard to cope when one story is delivered to me in parts. It makes it hard to stay connected to the characters and how they are feeling at the particular moment and time.

Worth the read in my book. Now we have to wait for the conclusion of the story in March.

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story was a little difficult for me to pick up and continue reading. One of the reasons is because the loss hit really close to home for me. I thought the first book was a good read, but I have to honestly admit that this second book in the trilogy outshines the first book by far. The story was stronger and drew me in even more, however it was not David I was falling in love with, but Marcus. I loved Marcus role in this story and I felt like I connected with him.

Although David is a Dom, he seemed a bit weak to me at times. It was almost like falling in love so fast and hard was a little crippling and made him appear just a little desperate to me.

Secrets, secrets, secrets. We all hate when the heroine keeps secrets, but what to do when afraid the BIG reveal has the possibility to ruin everything?

The sexy times in this second book was stronger and even better than the first.
This book ends on a big cliffhanger. As in the first book, this book was well written and it seems the author is feeling free and confident in her craft.

Hey, what in the world is going on with the husband?

I was given this book for an honest review. This story is a page turner and honestly the writing is smart , quick, witty, and very sexy! It is a compelling story that leaves you turning pages wanting the outcome at the same time as you dread the outcome. The characters are interesting and as the story progresses you find out little snippets of them which of course pulls you more into the story. The only down side is there is no real ending it just eludes to the next book so now I have to wait for the next one ugh!!!!!
This series is addicting be warned but is is so worth it I think. I am not one to usually like these kind of books but I am all in.

Wow. I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Lovedit. It was a great sequel to the 1st book. Vey sexy. The story goes in more details with Eliza and David relationship. You realize the anger of Agnes/Eliza emotions after her son's death and the ending of the marriage with Jonathan. I was waiting for the continuation of the first book to take place but then the story just gave me so much more. Loved it. Can't wait for the continuation.

The author provided me with a copy of this arc for an honest opinion.

Break Me picks up where Bend Me stopped. Agnes awakes in David's arms with so many emotions swirling in her mind. The ever lingering sense of loss, the feeling of being safe and held in his arms. This is almost to much to process. As we the reader continue their story it is like watching it play out right before my mind. The fluid writing of the author captivates my imagination and she makes me feel as if I know these two characters. That I am a part of the drama and live it vicariously through them.

Agnes is living a lie no matter who much she tries to convince herself she's not. As we progress we experience her emotional turmoil with her current situation. Her absolute ghastly family is just another layer on the wrongs done to her over the past months. My heart soars with the knowledge that David provides a deep needed release to her soul yet it aches for her pain. These two characters are perfection.

The grotto and its secondary characters are a wonderful addition to the drama playing out throughout the book. James and Eve will add not only laughter and heat to the story ,they add a sense of reality in their constant bickering.

David is our alpha male with a strong need to take care of Agnes. He knows she is hiding something yet pushes it to the back of his mind. He knows about her loss and her family yet something is off. His dominance is a huge turn on. He is smart, compassionate and takes what he wants but always thinking of Agnes first.

But the further we read the more we feel the tension building. We know secrets are going to come to a head but will it be willingly or a surprise attack. All we can do is hold on and hope the damage will be a minimum. As this book comes to an end, the author leaves us with a cliff hanger that promises answers to questions swirling around in our over active minds. In one breath you will be praising her for giving us such a enthralling story with such passion and depth yet on the other you will be secretly cursing her for having to wait for our answers in the next book. The depth and passion in this book are more than I could have hoped for and a lure than has me hooked for more of the magick that this author has weaved from her extremely talented mind.

I can't in good conscious give you any more details because it would take away from you experiencing this story for yourself. I will say this is one series you will not want to pass up. There is nothing more satisfying than a book that pulls you so far into the story that you feel as if you there, watching it play out right before your eyes.
That is the foundation for a wonderfully written book :)

I like the writing style. It’s a short quick read from two POVs like in the first book.

The Story of Agnes and David continues with both of them wanting to be in this Sub/Dom relationship but each with their own worries. Agnes is still married but hasn’t told David yet. David is afraid of losing Agnes because she is everything he could dream of.

The BDSM Part is good but as far as I remember, I enjoyed the first book a lot more. Probably because it was more thrilling as it was the first time for Agnes and with two strangers. Now David and Agnes feel more like a couple and the sex scenes are hot but not as exciting for me to read. Is it normal for a Sub to

The story is predictable because you can see the turn of events coming but it’s none the less exciting. I like the dynamic between Eliza and David. I also enjoyed reading about David’s friends Eve and James and also Marcus and Willow.

Though we haven’t met Agnes husband in the first book, I felt bad for him but now I feel terrible. Even though I like David, I think Agnes belongs to Jonathan. I despise what she did. Not that she moved on, but :

The inner turmoil of Agnes is interesting to read but it was weird for me that she did not grief the loss of her baby at all in this book but was devastated in the first one.

I enjoyed reading David’s POV a lot. I probably wouldn’t like him as much if I would know him just from Eliza’s POV because then I wouldn’t know his motives and what he is thinking.

I liked this book in the beginning and I loved it in the end. I can’t wait to read the 3rd one.
(Despite my love for HEA, I would complete the story with Agnes being alone. IMHO she doesn’t deserve a good guy like David.)

WOW what an ending...or should I say cliffhanger.
I love David and I really like Agnes/Eliza but she is making some bad decisions in this book. While David is still looking to advance his relationship with Eliza she is putting off telling a very important reason on what is holding her back. I can totally sympathize with her in wanting to put things behind her and start over but you need to do that with a clear conscience and a clean slate. Which is NOT what Eliza is doing and you know when you keep secrets they come back to bite you in the ass at the worst possible time.
Marcus has something good happen this book which is great because the way David and Eliza left him in the dust in Bend Me I really felt bad for him but things have a funny way of working out. We also get a peek at another side of Eve & James' relationship.

If you read my review about Bend Me I posted the following and I feel the need to post it again....
I have to mention that although Agnes is going through a divorce she is still legally married and living with her soon to be ex-husband. While they live in the same house they have separate bedrooms and do not socialize with one another. I felt the need to mention this because there are many people that will not read a book when there is cheating involved and while I do not consider this cheating there are some that might.

The second book in the Absolution Series! I loved this book as well; probably even better than the first one! David is totally committed to Eliza... and that after just a few days? Hm... okay, I can live with that! In my eyes David is THE perfect man! He is actually a bit too perfect! Does that man not even have a minor flaw?? LOL! I hate Eliza for not being honest to him... and for what? He knows about her history and he will understand there is a husband somewhere. I don't understand why Eliza/Agnes has so much trouble telling David she's still technically married. And what is really un-imaginable for me: why does she not just call Jonathan and ask him to sign the papers?? I pity Eliza for the aweful set of parents she has!! I loved reading about David's friends and I loved that Marcus has found Willow. And the sex scenes? Ab-so-f*cking-lutely hawt!! David is also perfect in that department! But.... wooow, what an ending...... Going on with #3 straight away!

I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Wow! Wonderful sequel to Bend Me! I felt every bit of the sexual, emotional tension between Agnes/Eliza and David on every page. The physical pain she seeks and that David knows she needs and gives her is her way of feeling something, anything, to relieve the numb feeling that has plagued since the death of her son, the anger and hurt accompanying that and the death of her marriage. The hurt just rolls off her and he gives her life meaning and direction and a sense of feeling that she has never really felt before. You can grasp this concept from meeting her biracial parents who think that all her problems can be healed through prayer leading you to think that no one ever really understood this girl so her adolescence was an uneasy one and her marriage doomed from the start. David feels deeply for her but doesn't push until the last pages leaving us on a cliffhanger and on the ledge for book three! I can't wait! It's a must read! 5+

I was given this book as an ABC in exchange for an honest review. It's nice to read a book in a series and it picks up right where the other left off. Eliza and David are wonderful. The way that he knows just what she wants and needs. Eliza/Agnes has felt numb since her son died and David makes her feel. What he makes her feel is something so new to her that it makes telling him things that she needs to so hard because she doesn't want to loose him. You really get a sense of how her life was growing up when you a meet her parents. You realize that she has never been true to herself until she met David. Because she was never true to herself her growing years we not pleasant and her marriage was bound to fail, because no one knew the real Agnes, that is until David. David loves his Eliza with everything that he has. He doesn't push to be part of her life outside of his friends, the condo and the Grotto. Well, at least not until the end. What happens? You'll have to read the book to find out. All I can say is I can't wait for book 3. This book is a must read!!!

OMG if I wasn't hooked before I'm more than sucked in now!

Seeing the relationship between David and Anges grow was amazing and truly pulled at the heart. Seeing how they grow is amazing as a couple and for Anges to be welcomed into the fold of David's close friends.

Though the scenes are intense they are also not tHe focus alone in tHis book. Anges is still fighting grief and the loss of her marriage at the same time she has found herself only doing so she discovers her true feelings for David

Can she moe forward and commit toDavid for life like he wants? Only reading he final book will tell you!

Now if I have said it before YOU NEED TO READ this series it will blow your mind!

Oh my goodness, this is such an awesome book 2; it made me feel like I was there, my emotions were so hipped up with Eliza & David getting to know each other and Eliza trying to finally move forward wow! Her grief is so strong and for her to finally be able to take a step forward but there is that not quite marriage that is still hanging in the air. She has been waiting and waiting for Jonathan's signature to finalize that awful part of her life and move on to her strong, happy new life. I cant wait to read book 3.

I got this book as an ARC for an honest review...

received as a read for review. The second in a 3 part series. These only get better. cant wait for the 3rd book. Eliza's new personality is as a submissive as she comes to grips with the loss of her child and marriage. David is the dominant who has captured her heart and submission. Will her omission of her secret life destroy their relationship or can love overcome? What will happen with her husband. Only the third book will tell.

**ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * *

well I was on one heck of a ride. Eliza is submitting to David for 2 months while waiting for her big D papers. Eliza is wanting to reveal her secret about Jonathan, I mean he is the one wanting the divorce. Will she be able to keep that secret. I can't wait for the the next part of this journey.

I am at a loss how to begin this review. I have so much to say, yet I do not what to spoil any part of Break Me, book two in the Absolution series. First, 1-Click this book, it is FANTASTIC! I devoured this book, I could not stop myself, I turned page after page and could not get enough. I wanted to slow down and savor Ms. Scarlet’s words but it was impossible. Break Me is just as steamy as book one. The intimacy shared between Eliza and David was palpable. I loved every hot minute of it. The BDSM aspect of this book was hot. There is something so incredibly sexy to me when the Dominant asks his submissive during a scene “what is your color” or growls “color” WOWIE, off the charts hot.
I was so taken in by Agnes / Eliza. Throughout the book Agnes Bright is conflicted. I cannot think of a better word. Agnes Bright is struggling to let go of the guilt, shame, and sadness of losing her son and marriage. Agnes Bright desperately wants to be Eliza Stuart; Eliza is loved, cherished and protected. David wraps her up so tightly in all that is him, Agnes begins to shed her former self and emerge into Eliza. “The curl of his large body around mine warms me in a deep, nourishing way”. I want that so desperately for her. I am rooting for Eliza, she is thriving and growing under David’s care. I want Eliza to emerge completely and leave Agnes and her hurt and heartbreak behind her. (This includes her horrible parents.) David Lake knows what he wants! He is a train going full speed ahead. David is all in, ignoring his inner thoughts, “In the dustiest corner of my consciousness a voice screams at me. Slow The F%&k Down!” He wants Eliza and he is going to have her, mind, heart and soul. He is strong and Dominant yet, he shows her a soft and vulnerable side. In a word David is, perfect.
The Secondary Characters were just as great in this book as they were in Bind Me. I loved getting to know them better. They were a perfect complement to the story.
I do not want to spoil any part of this book! BUT, the end of this book had my mouth dropping open and I was so damn angry! How could he? My poor Eliza! ;) I wanted to throw my e-reader and stomp my foot! I cannot wait until book three, Bind Me, is released. I am in desperate need of more of Ms. Scarlet’s incredible writing. Do not miss this series!

Arc received in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this series has truly sucked me right in. With a struggling start, I quickly have become obsessed with this story, and now I have a 3 week wait until release of Bind Me, the critical and gut wretching ending to David and Agnes (Eliza ) story. It cannot come soon enough for me, I'm more than ready to find out if their relationship that is based on so much trust can overcome the truth that reared its ugly head in that last paragraph of Break Me. It was totally a mouth open moment for me, one I knew would happen but denial over the love that is clear between David and Agnes.

It took one night for Agnes to litterally fall for David Lake. Now as their dom/sub relationship turns more than just physical but emotional charged her secrets regarding her personal life is still a mystery to David, and although she finally decides that a divorce from husband, Jonathan Bright his avoidance to her in general and his inability to just sign the paperwork. Leaving her 2 options
- tell David the truth about still being legally married to a man that threw her away with the loss of their infant son or
- continue to hide her marriage and when all is finalised, she will come clean to him about Jonathan, their son, and her real name, Agnes Bright.

David was taken by Eliza the 1st time he laid eyes on her and his knowing is that he wants forever with her. So with their BDSM relationship that feeds Eliza 's need for freedom, their feelings become very intense, almost to quickly but I guess that love at 1st sight thing is always possible. The presence both Eliza and David share, is so hot, dominant, yet sweet and comforting , it is something that is unusual I find in this type of genre. I normally find the dominant either a total douche bag, mean and nasty or hypocritical, and unforgiving. David has that "something " that attracts me to his character. Not only smart, successful, and H O T, but a real man. He wants everything with Eliza, so when the bomb is dropoed right at tte end of this book, is it over for good, has Eliza / Agnes lost her chance to comd clean about her fast, present and future? Or will David walk away, truly devistated. Csn Agnes be the woman that destroys him forever? God I hope not!

I'll wait very impatiently for book 3's release. I'm very looking forward to it.
