School starts up again in a week, and then I'll pretty much be hitting the ground running with being the stage manager for the One Act my friend is directing! I'm super excited :)

Thanks Cheryl! :)

Thanks for the book suggestion Dagny! It sounds awesome. Adding it to my TBR now :)
Loving this group already

Hello, Jeannine! Glad to have you here. I'm in my 50s, too. This is a very welcoming group, and we have members of all ages. You might want to check out our Genre Challenge. The list of genres reads each month are listed here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
November has Historical Fiction, and December has Fantasy. From your reading preferences, you might want to join in on that. No pressure, though.

I just finished reading a great non-fiction book about a rescue cat living at a library: Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World . If you haven't read it already, I highly recommend it.

I have this ambitious goal of finishing 20 books this December, cause I am in the middle of a break. Lets see whether i make it.
Hello, Sojan! Wecome and good luck with your December reading. Please feel free to tell us about the books you read here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
It's ok if they don't fit one of the Challenge categories. We'd still like to hear about it!

Hey Kathy, welcome to RMFAO!
I used to read after my bedtime too, though I used to sneak out onto the terrace to read. It's fun to be a rebellious reader, isn't it?
We're going to have a lot of group reads and reading challenges in 2018 so I hope you'll have a great time here. Right now there's a group read going on in case you want to check. :)
It's good to have you onboard!

I still feel like that kid when my husband comes to sleep and makes me use the itty, bitty book light! And I still tend to stay up way past my bedtime . . . Just one more page.

Kathy,
I, too, have an itty bitty book light for when my husband wants to sleep but I want to read. It's such a cozy feeling, though, reading in bed!

Hi, Riju! Welcome to the group. Short fiction is great and definitely counts toward our Genre Challenges. You can also let us know what you are reading by posting here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I enjoy thrillers, horror, humour, history, Game of Thrones and H2G2.
I used to read LOADS... until I discovered social media :O I don't know what happened to that little girl / teenager / woman who read so much, but I'd like to find her again.
I was invited by someone, thank you! I can't say who because the notification has gone :(

Welcome, Amanda! I know what you mean about social media stealing all your reading time. Group Buddy Reads and Challenges have really increased the number of books I read, and have introduced me to different types of books and authors. We're glad to have you here!

Thank you, Cheryl! I haven't heard about Group Buddy Reads - that sounds great!
Amanda,
Buddy Reads is the 4th. folder from the top, under Discussions. Here's a direct link to that folder:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
In January, we will be reading Ready Player One, which has been made into a movie (release date early 2018). I will be joining in, as will others in the group. It's month long, so you can start reading any time in January.

I am obsessed with journalling, I love listening to music, identifying butterflies, going on nature walks, collecting quotes, jewelry making and watching movies, also a coffee addict. I also kinda...like... Math .I love studying literature and reading books.
I don't have a long list of 'already read' books to show off, but I do have a long list of to- read books.
Basically , a beautiful mind looking forward to a lot of literary delights and colourful journal pages.
Hello, Spandana. Welcome to RMFAO!
I'm obsessed with journaling as well (currently preparing my 2018 BuJo.) All the best for your exams!
Do participate in 2018 reading challenges (we have quite a few), it'll help you discover some really great books and authors.
Have fun!

The urge of looking for a book brought me here, and in that quest, I ended up joining this group. Though I could not find that book so far, yet I think this would be beneficial in many other ways.
Cheers.
Hey Manas, welcome to RMFAO.
We love talking about books and exchanging recommendations. Do let us know what kind of book you're looking for here: Find Me A Book
I'm sure you'll end up finding a couple extra (which is always better!)
Do check out our reading challenges as well, we have quite a few and everyone loves them because they help us read a lot of new and exciting books each year.
Have fun.

Hey Donna, welcome to the group. We're glad that you decided to join us! Please feel free to read as many books you can manage for the genre challenge. Even if you fall behind some month and can't read for the genre challenge, it's not an issue. The main thing is that you might come across some books that others read or recommend that might catch your interest. :)
Hope you'll have fun here.
Happy New Year to you too!

Happy New Year to you too!

Yeah, I'm not too worried about February! I'd like to read Lincoln in the Bardo this year, and I'm thinking maybe I could fit that into the fantasy genre, if that includes speculative fiction.
Welcome to all of the new members! I was away for the holidays, and just got back home. What a great New Year it will be at RMFAO, with so many new people joining in the challenges and the discussions!

Oh yeah, I suck at making actual connections because I lack the filter or desire to sugar coat myself for others. Also a firm believer that pie fixes absolutely everything lol

Welcome to the group, Ashley. Even I face difficulty socializing for similar reasons. But this is where nothing matters except for one's love for books :)
Do join us for some of the reading challenges and/or buddy reads.
