Hi there my name is Lan Lan (aka Lianne) and I am a 22 year old university grad who is currently trying to figure out what to do with her life. I live in Canada and current it cold enough to give me the excuse to stay in a read a book or two. I love to blog, play video games, watch Netflix, and naturally get into shenanigans.

My main genres I go for are horror, fantasy, YA, and Sci-Fi (primarily Dystopian). My favourite things to do while reading is drinking copious amounts of tea, have a glass of wine, or a cold tall boy of Harp.

I love meeting new people and discussing different and unique opinions on the books we love :).

message 104: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Ionson I'm Daniel. I've loved the Dark Ages since I was 7. I loved D&D as a kid, and I devoted a full decade starting in my tweens to creating my own RPG. Great times!
Almost a decade ago I finally decided to let myself write. I love it, and will do it til I croak.
I pay attention to what readers love/hate, and why.

Suzanne Hi all! I'm even later to this party. I came across this group by accident and loved the title. I'm an indie author. Debut title is Saving Toby, a New Adult, contemporary romance. Nearly finished with the sequel, Keeping Claudia.

I'm an emotional writer, an avid reader, and a hater of most trends. (Hence why I'll probably never write another series!) I'll read just about anything and often do, but I prefer stories that give me food for thought as well as epic love stories. (The Bronze Horseman) I'm a dodgy stickler for good writing and character development. I get downright cranky when actions don't add up. Give me books with characters that are believable and behaviors that make sense.

Cheers!

Currently, I'm reading the Dresden Files and HP, both with satisfaction. I don't think you will be disappointed in the Dresden Files, but don't expect elequent writing that makes you stop and ponder life after every period(who has time for that anyways?) but they are fun reads and well worth the short time it takes to get through them. I'm starting book 6 soon.

David My name is David Lee Summers. By day, I'm an author with eight published novels. Novels nine and ten, The Brazen Shark and The Astronomer's Crypt, are due out in 2016. I write steampunk, science fiction and horror. By night, I operate telescopes at Kitt Peak National Observatory. Of course, I also love to read, which is why I'm here. message 144: by Manveer (new)

Manveer (manveerssj4) | 28 comments Hey Guys! So I've been a part of this group for around a week now but kinda forgot to introduce myself. I'm just copying the intro I posted in another group. Anything you want to ask, feel free to add.

Well, Manveer here. I'm a 20 year old basically from Ludhiana, Punjab but currently residing in Pilani where I'm doing Bachelors in Computer Science at Bits. I'm an average student who loves to read books and watch movies. I've been reading since eternity, all thanks to my parents who are avid book lovers themselves. I have been active on and off on goodreads which I joined almost three years ago searching for a book, which incidentally I haven't read till date (Journey to the West).

Well, I'm mostly into fiction, mainly focusing on the fantasy, YA, historical fiction and science fiction. Favorite genre is High Fantasy and I have read almost all the major ones (probably the minor ones too). All time favorite is the LotR series, probably because it introduced me to this wonderful genre.

Also read shitloads of YA, fantasy and realistic alike. Favorites include Looking for Alaska, The Book Thief etc.etc. Apart from all this, I'm a huge comic book freak. I read a lot of comic books and graphic novels, ranging from serious stuff to superheros and Manga. Favorites include Dragonball by Akira Toriyama sensei and ofc, anything by Alan Moore. Also, My love for Tintin should be obvious.

I'm a big football freak, watching and playing. Lifelong fan of FC Barcelona, just in case anyone wanted to know. Apart from that I am an amateur writer and a movie lover. Add me up here or on Facebook if you want to talk about anything! Looking forward to having fun with y'all.

Hi Manveer, welcome to RMFAO. (If you haven't noticed by now then I'm the creator of the group.)
I hope you're having a great time interacting with everyone here. And I am also a die-hard FC Barcelona's fan :) Glad to know that you're an engineer. I was one, left in 3rd year of ENTC eng. and changed career paths (I'm a soon-to-be published 24 years old author now. I write psychological-thrillers.)

If you have any queries, feel free to ask.
Also, apart from Genre Challenge, we have quite a lot of other challenges (like NetGalley Challenge, Classics Catch-up, etc.) If you find something that's up your ally, do join in.

Have a great day!

I've read your posts too and know a little bit about you already :) It's great that you like the game too. It does kinda weird me out when someone calls it soccer, but then that's what they call it in your country, so can't really complain. Even I started with the World Cup back in 2006 when my dad introduced me to the game. I wear my football jerseys like 3 days in a week :P
