I've read Croc's Return and really liked it. I haven't read the other books in the series (I think I read it for a challenge where I needed a reptile or something :-) ) but I love Eve Langlais's writing and humor and I have read a bunch of her other books.

Ok I'm officially obsessed. I think my favorite shifters are now and forever bears! Between this book and Shelly Laurenston's Pride series I have decided I need more bear shifters in my life. Their characters are just so much fun and I love the way that particular shifter type is depicted. So wonderful! Definitely need more bear shifter suggestions!
So with that out of the way...this may be one of my favorite books in the series. It was amusing and sweet and then broke my heart at times. I love Silver's strength and her commitment to go through things no matter how hard. She has a spine of steel. I adored the fact that Valentin called her "Silver Fucking Mercant." It was just so apropos. Valentin was everything you'd want in a shifter alpha. I loved his interactions with the cubs and his patience with his psy mate. His thought patterns just plain made me giggle...sure you're sneaky like a cat. ;) I loved this story so very very much!
Can't wait to read the next book in this series, only thing I'm dreading is that I'm coming to the end of what is currently written.

Review: My first Stephen King and I, unfortunately, have to report that I thought it was meh. I'm not sure if it was because it was so short or because I was listening to the audiobook, but I just felt very unattached to the characters. I thought it seemed pretty forgettable :/

Review: This is the first book I've read in this series, and it seemed to do fine as a stand alone. Mia Monroe shows up at Collins Drake's front door after not seeing him for the past 15 years (since they were 15 years old.) She's lost her job and been accused of embezzlement from her job, is out of money and has no where to go. So she remembers a promise the two made when they were 10, that they would get married if neither had found someone else by the time they were 30. Mia knows Collins isn't married, but forgot about the fact he may have a girlfriend. And he does indeed! But he hasn't been happy, and spending time with Mia reinforces that Tatiana isn't doing it for him any longer. Unfortunately for the story, Collins and Mia don't wait until he's broken up with Tatiana before sampling a little bit of each other's goods, which I really didn't care for. Also, I listened to the audio version, and I had some trouble following the narrator at times - I couldn't tell when Collins was thinking things and when he was actually saying them because she didn't change her voice at all. There were parts I enjoyed, so it nets out as just okay for me.

4th in series with Elvis Cole and Joe Pike. A young girl and her boyfriend are in the wrong place at the wrong time. They are caught up in a struggle between one group bringing undocumented workers into the US and another group who take these people for ransom. While trying to save the couple, Cole himself becomes a captive. Joe Pike now must come to the rescue. What follows is a fast paced, thrilling, and shocking tale.

Review:
This was a sweet wrap-up to the entire series. I liked reading the 2nd Epilogues one after another rather than broken out as they were in order of the series, just gave me a nice visit with each of the couples. Almost enough to make me want to re-read the series. Almost. There are too many other series to start, though, so I'll have to be content as is ;-) I especially liked the extra novella at the end focused on Violet. I do wish she'd earned a beau at the end of her life, but the story does stand well as it is.

So we finally get the full explanation behind Evan and his abandoning both Fergus and the team. Of course he never betrayed Fergus like he thought, though he still is responsible for breaking both their hearts. But finding new hope and a chance with Ben might give them all the space to heal.
I really enjoyed watching Ben and Evan work out the boundaries of their relationship. Their's wasn't an easy courtship, there are a lot of secrets in Evan's line of work and Ben isn't great with secrets even when he's in on a few of them. These two had a lot to work out to find a way that they could be together. This story really tied up a lot of the past tensions between all the couples. It's let them all start to heal.

Review: As always Eve has a crime that needs to be solved but when the people she loves come close to death it really messes with her head and her own nightmares become a problem as well. Its such a great thing that Roake is there because he knows how to soothe her nightmares. He's also a great partner in every way but so is the rest of her group. Love, love this series.

Look I'm torn on this one. Thing was I really liked Kellam he was a great character. I loved how badass he was with his abilities. But Ty drove me crazy. Most of my issues with this book have also been stated by other reviews. Ty's attitude felt so backward and egotistical. It's one thing to want to make your partner feel loved and cherished and want to take care of them. It's another to monologue all the time about this weird set of old school rules and really I'm sorry it felt like he was treating Kel like a 1950's housewife most of the time. The thing is I can't imagine him letting Kel keep working for very long . It just didn't seem to fit with his "Me man, you be safe" attitude.
That being said, the connection between the two guys still felt very strong. I felt their connection growing and I liked that they took the time to get to know each other. I liked the way Ty thought of Kel even if I didn't love the way he always treated him. Mostly because while Kel didn't seem to mind I still wanted to smack Ty at times and be like, he's perfect capable of doing things for himself. He can kick major ass, let him!
So yeah, end result is I'm torn here. I don't know how I really feel. I'm putting it at 3.5 stars, but rounding down for the frustration I felt reading this.

Review: Another fun story in the HH universe!!! Griffin Mills is working in Las Vegas, evaluating a hotel for inclusion in his family's company when he meets Cosy Felton. Cosy is working in an adult toy store when Griffin comes in to buy gag gifts for a bachelor party. He's immediately taken with Cosy, and comes back a few weeks later to ask her out. She's a bit reluctant, not sure if he's a creeper since she met him in a sex toy shop, but she ultimately goes out with him and the two hit it off. Of course there are a number of obstacles which were hilarious and, at points, a bit heartbreaking. I love Helena Hunting's writing, especially in this series and the Pucked Off series!!

How it Fits: # 5 in the Rizzoli & Isles Series
Review:
Another fast paced thriller featuring the dynamic duo of Jane Rizzoli (Boston PD Detective) and Dr. Maura Isles (Coroner). At the beginning of this novel, Jane finds herself as a hostage in the hospital. Being a hostage is horrible but being a hostage while in the midst of childbirth is unbelievable. Through some shady occurrences, she and the other hostages are rescued and Jane is able to safely deliver a healthy and bouncy baby ---well you will have to read it to find out the gender!
Now safely at home on maternity leave, Jane along with Maura are dragged into a seamy and dangerous case. It involves a runaway girl, sex slaves, and corruption at the highest lever of government and the military. As always danger lurks in the distance. Jane finds her new marriage and motherhood threatened from within and without.
This is a thrilling and not disappointing read.

I've given this 4 stars but I'm not convinced of it. The jumping from storyline to storyline wore on. It made the book longer than it needed to be, at least for me. And I'm not 100% sure I like the ending. Maybe it just took one step too far in suspending of belief for me. How (view spoiler) . Anyway, I still love the series and the characters and can't wait to dig into Phury's life next.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review: Betsy is just a fun, quirky vampire. The story isn't exactly the usual type of vampire book but its fun to see how she tries to be human but blood lust does get to be a problem. Betsy does at least try to keep things in some order but all of her house mates do find her fun and fair to everyone. It was a fun book to just clear the head.

King Lear by William Shakespeare
How it qualifies: Published before 1950
Completed: 10/18/19
Rating: 4 stars
Review: My favorite of Shakespeare's works I 've read so far! It probably also has to do with the fact that I found it the easiest to understand! I had been meaning to get around to it for so long andd I was glad to have the opportunity. And now I am able to understand all the references so yay!!
Technically everyone is supposed to roll on Friday, but as long as all reviews were in by deadline I won't quibble if you don't get around to it until Saturday. At your earliest convenience would be good though, so everyone has as much time as possible to read.
