Oh my. It was a one star read to a book everyone else loves. Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. It started out as a really good, quirky story. After about 50 pages, I was tired of it and wanted something more out of the story. Had to push myself to read on and I hated the part about the cat. Note: It was a two star read until the cat part.

I finished 15 books last month. That is more than what I normally finish.
410. How do you prioritize what books to read/pick up next? Do you go by due date from the library, buddy reads, book club selections, etc.? Explain your process/routine.

I go by what I think is going to take me the longest, and whats more in demand. I'll more often than not prioritize a new fiction that I had on hold over a biography that's been sitting on the shelf I know will be okay to bring in and renew

Due date, meets a challenge, sometimes group monthly reads. Sadly it is easy to ignore books that I own, because I know they are always going to be there.

I haven't been checking out as many books from the library lately, but that would be my main priority. Buddy reads would probably be next in line, then anything after that is just a "I'll get to it when I get to it."
411. If you could erase a book from your brain and experience it for the first time again, which book would you choose?

There's so many. the first one that came to mind was The Hunger Games trilogy, just because it was such an all consuming experience for me.

The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish. Although, I could probably reread it and be fine because it's such an intricate story. Odds are I don't remember much of it anyway.

(The Hunger Games is also a series that I would enjoy reading for the first time again.)

I still need to read that series. I also need to branch out a little bit and read some actual sci-fi...this series and maybe Becky Chambers to start out.

[book:Hugh and Bess: A Love Story|
It's been out for a few years but I just finished the first book, The Traitor's Wife and i'm excited to see what happens to the characters from the first book in this one. I plan to start it once i finish The Silent Patient

The Catcher In The Rye. Idk, maybe I was too young, maybe I hadn't been paying enough attention to it, all I could make out of it was Holden Caulfield was a very depressed young man. In any case, I didn't like it lol

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Both the story and the formatting were off-the-wall weird. It was different and strange. I am glad I read it, but not sure I would recommend it. The formatting worked perfectly and the spooky parts were really good. But the rest of it, a large part of it, was really slow.
Edit: Also, I read this in 2019 and am still thinking about it! Plus I plan to read more by this author. I am a little all over the place with this book. One thing for sure, it was definitely weird.

That book has been on my TBR for years. I'm intimidated by the format. I'm not quite sure how you're supposed to read it because it's so "unique."

The formatting is surprisingly easy to figure out as you go. But, it does not work on a Kindle. You must have a physical copy.

I am experiencing that situation right now. The book is The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens. I am not very interested in the characters. Mostly, I am irritated with them. And I hate the bad guy so much, I don't want to read about him anymore. It is so easy to put this book aside and read something else. But, I am at 68%, so, I should be able to finish it up soon.

The Traitor's Wife by Susan Higginbotham. It wasn't all that big but i'd get busy and put it down and not touch it for days at a time. I'm like that, I either read whenever I have five free minutes or I wont touch a book for weeks.

Oh, okay. Good to know, thanks.

415. Do you have any fun weekend reading plans, or plans in general? Are you trying to finish up any books before the end of the month?

.
I have three books to finish before the end of the month.
- The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
- The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens
- Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
I also have yard work to do. But I never feel like starting first thing in the morning. And later it is too hot.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, pretty much finished it in one afternoon and evening.

I made some progress in my newest book, and got properly hooked on Call The Midwife, made it into season 2 this weekend.

I liked it very well! It wasn't as mind blowing for me as The Maidens but I really enjoyed it. It's a very decent read, just didn't love it enough to add to my personal bookshelf. I think you'll enjoy it.

418. Happy September! I treat every month kind of like a new year. It's a fresh start. So, what's on your September TBR? How many books are you planning on reading?

I'm going to give Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig a try.
Wicked Things by John Allison
When the Stars Go Dark by Paula McLain
I'll be surprised if I finish all or any of those.
