I know what you mean about A Rush of Wings. I felt exactly the same way. The beginning of the book was a of a let down for me.
But I must say: halfway I got sucked in and was overwhelmed by the intensity. So I finally did give it 4 stars :)

As for your little Mooncalled review, couldn't agree more. There was not much going on, what did went on was a bit coincidental, I didn't like the lack of romance (first nothing, nothing, nothing, then boom: we're kissing) but I did like Mercy. Down to earth, sympathetic, very likeable heroïne.

I heard the nookie won't come till later in the series. Patience...patience...

I'm so glad that its not just me. In the beginning, I was wondering where all the good reviews came from. I did go out and get In the Blood, book two in this series in hopes that it will be a better read.

When I started Night's Master by Amanda Ashley it was a slow read at first.About nearly half way through the book it got interesting.I thought the story plot was good but the way she described the vampires was not that great.In my opinion anyway.

Actually I wasn't expecting the kissing because there was no romance at all up until that point. There were hints, but nothing physical. I was surprised when the kissing happened...... This better be some damn good nookie if we have to wait this long! lol

Personal Demon was another decent Kelley Armstrong read.
This book is about Hope Adams, a chaos demon, who we've met in a short story in Dates from Hell. Besides Hope, we also get to read Lucas Cortez' POV. In the beginning I felt Hope was interesting enough to have her own book, instead of sharing a narrative voice with Lucas. But along the way Lucas really added something extra to the story and reading about his struggle with his family turned out to be really interesting, eventhough I hadn't read the books centered about him and Paige.
The book can be read as a stand alone but reading the other books of the series and the short story in Dates from Hell (about Hope and Karl) really adds more to the excitement.
May I add: I love Karl Marsten! Who would have thought?


Now it's either Stray or BDB... What to choose?

I loved Thorn Queen by Richelle Mead. I liked it so much more than Storm Born, book 1 in the Dark Swan series. It started out a little slow, but once the action started, it never let up. There were some events that took place just before the end that were pretty sad, and I just felt like crying; but the way this story was set up has me dying to read the next installment in this series. The events leading up to the end were just so unexpected, I was shocked. Richelle Mead is a really talented author. I've read the Vampire Academy series, and Dark Swan. I'll definitely be sure to check out her Georgia Kincaid series now.

Glad you enjoyed it Michelle. I, too, enjoyed the 2nd book moreso than the first. And am totally addicted to their exploits now. Isn't Dorian just devine? Can't wait to see what the next installment brings.

Woot! 4 down 5 to go! I really enjoy the Argeneau series. It's overall light with some dark spots. Never fails to make me laugh.

Though I was a tad disappointed with Vampires Are Forever. I think it's because it lacked a lot of the usual humor. Also Inez's ridiculous internal blathering on about how fat and ugly she was and how Thomas didn't love her was very grating. Overall it was still a decent book.

Cherra, BDB it is! I'm at page 68 now. Beth and Wrath have had their first 'encounter'. I know it's probably a predispositioned urge or something but it was almost embarrassing how she threw herself at him! And, at the risk of sounding like a pervert... I thought the sex scene could have been a little more detailed. She wants him wants him wants him and he touches her twice and there she comes. Wow, ok, that was it?
