by Tracy Sumner. My 2.5 star (rounded down to 2 stars) Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Got a non-cozy audio book in this week:
The Overlook by Michael Connelly https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I have had quite the week in books, spanning a number of genres:
* About a Dog by Jenn McKinlay (romance)
* Madeline's Christmas by Ludwig Bemelmans (don’t judge, lol!)
* Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Ultimate Guide by Rick Riordan (YA fantasy)
* The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury (sci-fi audiobook—double rarity for me)
* A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn (historical mystery)
Not to mention a few short stories as well.

It is indeed! And now I have a nonfiction, a collection of short stories and a classic planned for the coming week. 😀

Thanks. Brenda! Today has been a light reading day, only a few short stories. I had intended on starting another book, but the racket above me was too distracting.
At one month prior to publication, I can now post my review for the following 2 books.Police procedural (K-9): Bending the Paw
by Diane Kelly ----- My 4 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...and
Contemporary Romance with a little suspense: Silver Creek Fire

This week’s non-cozy reading:
* A Good Man Is Hard to Find and Other Stories by Flannery O’Connor — I had read a couple of these short stories before, but most of the ten were new to me and somewhat depressing.
* Ban This Book by Alan Gratz — A middle grade book about censorship that I quite enjoyed.
Currently reading:
* Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury — An October Classics group read with which I am rounding out Banned Books Week (Sept 27-Oct 3). This is a reread for me.

Thanks, Brenda. Finished F451. Though there was a lot of it I remembered, there were also things I had forgotten (view spoiler).
I am reading
Winter of Despair by Cora Harrison. Interesting pairing of Willkie Collins and Charles Dickens. They play against each other quite well. Good mystery set in 1855 London.
I finished an action-packed mystery: A Solitude of Wolverines
by Alice Henderson.My 5 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Read a romantic short story this morning, Baby, I'm Yours by Stephanie Bond. It was okay for what it was, definitely would have been better had it been a bit longer.
Almost finished with Teaching When the World Is on Fire
Though I am not a teacher, I think this is good reading for anyone working directly with kids. I am a librarian and much of this can be applied to the services and resources we provide for kids and teens.

I enjoy reading Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Inspirational Fiction, Amish fiction and anything about U.S. and British history. I also enjoy reading about nature, pets, travel and all things Victorian. One of my hobbies is collecting vintage Cookbooks.
