The alternates:Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Hi, everyone! I'm Trea. This is the second time I've done a team challenge and my first time doing this particular one, so please excuse any mistakes I might make! Here's a bit about me (Questionnaire taken from my previous team challenge):Are you willing to read one book a week for this Team Challenge? Yes!
How many books do you average a week? I try to finish 1 book per day, but don't always succeed. Being a stay at home mom that homeschools her son a bit helps with this! Let's figure I average 5-6 books per week, but will probably exceed that estimate.
In what Time Zone are you? Eastern Daylight/Standard Time, as I am from Ohio.
Would you be willing to be Captain? No, not really, since this is my first time with the challenge. However, I am totally willing to be aide if necessary!
Hi everyone, I'm Nan. I have done numerous challenges and this is the second time I am doing this challenge. I am from Pennsylvania so I am also on ET. Favorite type of books to read these days are M/M and I am in lots of M/M challenges so hopefully this will help me with those challenges. I would prefer not to be captain since I am currently captain in two other team challenges but will help if needed.
Hi, I'm jingles. If I remember correctly, this is my third time to play this particular team challenge.I'm on US Central Standard Time.
I read about 4-6 books a week, usually, though that does vary.
I've just started a new team challenge in my group (our very first team challenge), and I captain another team challenge, so I would not be able to take on captain duties at this time.
Hi everyone,I'm Jodi and this is the first time I have accepted this challenge. :)
I too live in Ohio, so I live the the ET zone.
I work full-time but I try to listen while at work and I usually read 3-5 books a week.
I don't think I am up to being captain, at least this time around.
Happy Reading!
We are waiting to hear from Pat and if she says no to captain then maybe I can do it if you guys will fill in If I need it.
Personally, I like Jingles' Fearless Five suggestion, since it ties into books, specifically Jennifer Estep's Bigtime Series. So, that's going to be my vote.
I did not know that, Trea. I'll have to check out that series. And thanks for the vote of confidence. Lol
Hi all! Nan, thanks for the PM - I didn't think the teams would be named until tomorrow. I am reading through the messages and am glad to be on board. Nan if you don't mind being captain, that would be great. I work part-time and have a husband with health issues so I would rather not be captain. This is my second time doing this challenge and I love it! I think I will cast my vote for Fearless Five. Love the other names too, but for a challenge name, I think this works.
I am on Eastern Time, too. Glad to meet you all!
Nan, with Pat chiming in and asking not to be captain, I'd be happy to help you captain this. It's my first time participating in it, so I might need some guidance, but I'm happy to help!
jingles wrote: "I did not know that, Trea. I'll have to check out that series. And thanks for the vote of confidence. Lol"It is my favorite Jennifer Estep series, Jingles, and I've sampled them all! It's what I like to call superhero romance, and starts with Karma Girl.
Thanks Trea! This will only be my second time and I started half way through last round when they needed more people.

Team Name - Fearless 5"
Great! Thanks, Nan!
How many Newbies do we have on this team? I am going to post the rules here and if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Round 3 of SS: This is a team challenge that will require one book a week. The object of the game is to roll the dice (there will be a link to the website to roll) and move along the board. The first team to pass the finish line wins the game.
Captains will roll the dice by clicking here on Fridays (anytime after midnight Central US time) once their team has completed their reads. You may not advance until all of the team's reviews are in. If a player or team falls behind the team has to wait until the next Friday to roll. That being said it's very important to finish and review your book on time. If a player fails to review on time more than twice they will no longer be on the team (excluding a prearranged absence)
How to pick a book:
If you land on single digit spot for example lets say you land on spot 5 then you have to read a book that's #5 in a series. For double digit numbers, for example you land on spot 48 you can read either a #4 or a #8 in a series. Stand alone books will count as a #1 or a #0. I don't expect anyone to read a series out of order and for people that don't really read series books that still want to play there will be an alternate option. There will be an alternate option for each spot.
Teams will have a chance to earn 1 Free Pass to roll. To earn your free pass your team has to complete their reads a day before the next roll. Once your team has done this you will have 1 free pass. The free pass will allow a team to roll if they are missing a review(s) before the cutoff. The free pass may not be used for the win. Once you've used it, you can't earn another one. It's a one time shot.
Re-reads are allowed
Page limit is 150
When using an anthology you may use any of the numbers in the book except for the .5 since this means 1/2. But you must review each story in the anthology.
Series # will be based on how GR has it listed.
Any questions please feel free to ask!
Thanks, Nan! I think I have it, but more than likely I'll be referring back to this from time to time!
Trea wrote: "Thanks, Nan! I think I have it, but more than likely I'll be referring back to this from time to time!"That's why I wanted to post the rules here instead of having to go to another folder to look at it.
Nan* doesn't have enough time to read* wrote: "That's why I wanted to post the rules here instead of having to go to another folder to look at it."It was a good idea!
Thanks Nan! Having the rules right here will make it easy to refer to and ask questions. Can't wait to start!
You rock, Nan! Thank you for taking such good care of us :)Are you all excited to get started? I know I am!

I am so excited, I can't wait to see what is rolled! I haven't started another book yet because I am waiting for our roll. :)

Nan, if Jingles can't roll, I can set an alarm and get up to roll if you need/want me to.
Trea you don't have to do that unless you want to. I f anyone gets on early tomorrow and the roll still isn't made go ahead and roll and post what you rolled.
Nan* doesn't have enough time to read* wrote: "Trea you don't have to do that unless you want to. I f anyone gets on early tomorrow and the roll still isn't made go ahead and roll and post what you rolled."I didn't set an alarm and woke up anyway. I rolled this: You rolled 2 dice:
1 5

If what I just rolled stands, I'll be reading a 1 in a series and will read Hypnotic Seduction by L. L. Kellogg, book 1 in the Seduction Series, with 237 pages. As I am reading this for another challenge as well, can I start reading it when I get back up at 6:30 am?
Trea you Rolled a 1 + 5 so we are are on space 6 (See instructions on how to pick a book)This week we have to read Book # 6 in a Series
Alternate Book to read - Tattoo on the Cover
Trea - Next week you will be able to pick what to read and it is based on the square we land on so if we end up on Space 13 you could read book 1 or 3 in a series.

See, I knew I'd screw it up somehow! Ok, going for a tattoo on the cover book, I'll read Hard as It Gets by Laura Kaye. Can I start it this morning?

I's hard the first week since most of the teams get single digit #s. I had to re-read the instructions to make sure I was right
You can start reading any time you want.
Reminder - If we all finish before Midnight Wednesday Night we earn a free pass to be able to use in the future so happy reading everyone!

Cool. With Hard as It Gets being 368 pages, I want to get a good bit of time with it, and the weekend is free for me. I'll be starting it ASAP!
I love having this info so early. Thanks Trea! Last time I did this I didn't know what to look for until I came home from work....You rock!
As long as we all get our books read early we can roll early. I will make sure I check board early friday morning and roll if someone hasn't done so.
Pat wrote: "I love having this info so early. Thanks Trea! Last time I did this I didn't know what to look for until I came home from work....You rock!"I have a hard time sleeping, especially after I've had a migraine, which is what happened last night. I woke up at 1:10 am EST and just could not get back to sleep! So, I came out here to my computer and rolled.
Nan, should I have posted the roll anywhere else?

I'm sorry, Nan. I just logged on and saw this message. I wasn't up at midnight, but I'm usually on around 6:00 - 6:30 am Central Time in the US if that helps in the future.
Thanks for doing the roll, Trea.
