Jimmy is the lead singer of Stage Dive, because of being rich and famous, he thinks he can do, say and take whatever he wants. In the past books of this series, you know Jimmy had to enter rehab because of drugs/alcohol. Enter Lena, a woman his band mates hire to be his sobriety coach.
I rated this book a ****, should be 3.5 stars. This book was a little more serious than the others I read in the series. I didn't think Jimmy was very likeable until half way through the book and I did not feel connected with the main characters at first. I liked the comebacks that Lena gave in the story. I will finish the series because there is only 1 story left!

Review:
I really wanted to enjoy this book, but instead I found myself hating it! The mystery of who was financially ruining Roxley was the only thing mildly entertaining in the story and thus saved the book from a one star rating. Harriet and Roxley themselves were too wishy washy about their affections for one another that it dragged the story down into tedium. I couldn't see other Society ladies doing the things that Harriet did to gain Roxley's attention, no matter how meddlesome or how many brothers she might have had! Don't even get me started on the wardrobe choices she wore, because I don't believe that any marriage minded lady of Quality would wear the colors that were reserved for the married women of Society when she herself was unmarried, no matter how black her hair was! I must admit, I did enjoy the twist that was Lady Oriel, which added to my star rating as well. Overall, I found this to be a weak link in the series, and I'm hesitant to continue with the series.

Brief Review
In a long line of heartache and pain, Paige has recently suffered the loss of her beloved step-brother. Suffering from nightmares and flashbacks from the past, and after a particularly harrowing incident at the hospital where she works, she decides to find the one person she knows can help. Someone she has been drawn to for years.
Mace is dealing with a few demons of his own. Dealing with the loss of his best friend, and with trying to help another Delta Force team mate regain his memory, the last thing needs is the added complication of dealing with his Paige. He's been drawn to Paige for years, but because she is the sister of the his best friend, he managed to stay away from her. Now though, since the death of his best friend on a mission gone way wrong, he can't seem to hold back.
This book was filled with lots of twits and turns, and just the right amount of darkness and against - just the way I like them.
Overall it was a 4 star read for me. I'm looking forward to book #4.

Trea, I have the first book of that series on my TBR - Along Came a Duke. Have you read it? If so, what did you think?

Trea, I have the first book of that series on my TBR - Along Came a Duke. Have you read it? ..."
I've read it, Jingles. In fact, my read for this week got me current on the series! I'll copy my review of the first one in here for you.
I struggled with this book a bit, but the ending more than made up for it. I was charmed by the village setting, and amused by Preston's antics. It seemed to be a twist on the Cinderella fairy tale, but wasn't really pushy with it. It was all around a good read, and I am looking forward to the other books in the series!
The second book in the series is by far the best one, while If Wishes Were Earls was the low point for me. The fourth book in the series comes out at the end of the month, and I'm not sure I want to pick it up. That one will be a library request before purchase for certain!

jingles- I liked this series a lot. Have you read the Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning? They are very similar.

Sinners on Tour is a great series! Her One Night with Sole Regret is good too, and the newest one in that series will be out later this month. My one complaint is that the Sole Regret books are serials and I really hate serial books of any kind!

I haven't read that series yet, it is on my TBR! But I am too cheap to buy them, especially since they are only about 80 pages long. :) Maybe I will find them on sale further down the line.

There are three story bundles of the stories that make it a little easier on the pocket book. I just checked Amazon, and they're $4.99 for the Kindle edition of One Night with Sole Regret Anthology Vol.1: Try Me, Tempt Me, Take Me and for One Night with Sole Regret Anthology Vol.2: Share Me, Touch Me, Tie Me. It is also lending enabled, and I currently have the first anthology if you'd like me to loan it to you!

That's very nice of you! Thanks for the offer! Unfortunately, I have a Nook."
Bummer! I hope the info helped though!

Me either! I'll be getting up at 12:40 am EDT again to make the roll, so not too much longer now!

Thanks for that info, Trea. That's very helpful. I will probably to the library route myself.

Gotta love those Rock N Roll bad boys!! :)
Jodi, I've not read the Sinners on Tour series! I will definitely have to check out that series.
And I totally agree about the rock 'n roll bad boys!!

Me either! I'll be getting up at 12:40 am EDT again to make the roll, so not too much longer now!"

Review:
This was actually a pretty engrossing story! I found it to be a very interesting look at what life was like in that part of the country in history. However, I didn't like a few of the characters in it, so it drug my rating of the book down a bit. I'm actually rounding my rating up from 3.5 stars.
If you just look at it without having the entire cast of supporting characters, it is actually quite good. I liked Gray and Fiona, and could see their natural attraction and admiration for one another. I didn't care for how the mother treated her sons, and the character of Flem in general.
All the characters were very well fleshed out and the story, though short, felt very complete. All in all, I was very surprised by this book!

This is the book most people have been waiting. We meet Yancy and Juan in a previous book when they are still teenagers. Juan has moved to Virginia and is working training horses, riders and is competing as an English rider. When we first met them Juan's uncle Tony convinces the boys to complete their educations and wait until they are adults to get involved in a relationship. Over thirteen years pass and Yancy is now a Veterinarian and decides it is time to move east and be with Juan.
Home Sweet Home is their story and what happens now that the two men live in the same town and can live together. Yancy buys out a Veterinarian who wants to retire and move closer to his daughter. This book is extremely sweet but doesn't have a lot of depth to the story. I would consider this book to be a M/M version of a beach read but it is nice to see the two men have survived all theses years and are still in love with each other.

This book is number 6 in a series that I have been reading. I think it is an ok series; all have been heartwarming light romances.
This book has a tried and true theme. Girl meets high school crush; he was the resident bad boy.
The book takes place in Cricket Creek, KY. Reese has come back to town and Gabby still thinks he is a bad boy. After they talk about their misunderstanding with each other, the book moves along to a quick "I Love you" ending, which I think was a little forced. This book has a lot of secondary characters from other books in the series, which I normally like but after reading three books in the series this month, it just got old.

Brief Review
Set in 18th Century England, this is the 2nd book in the historical fiction series - Dr. Thomas Silkstone. Dr. Silkstone is a renowned anatomist and doctor on the cutting edge of medicine for his time. In this story, the author combines the life of Irish Giant Charles Byrne and dwarf Jozef Boruwlaski. Byrne is seeking a pardon for his dead father, but has very little time to live himself. His close friend (the dwarf), Jozef Boruslaski has decided to help him. Dr. Silkstone becomes involved with these two phenomenal people at the request of his lady love.
Into this come another twist in the form of the gruesome murder of a famous castrato, for which the wrong man is accused. With early forensics, science and medicine, Dr. Silkstone will prove who the guilty person really is.
While this was a good book, I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first book of the series - but yet, I can't wait to start the third one.
Over all it was a 3 star read for me.

Once again, Charley Davidson aka the grim reaper, gets herself and friends into loads of trouble. This time she finds her apartment slowly filling up with ghosts of blonde women....a serial killer is loose and Charley has a case to solve. Reyes, aka the son of Satan, and Charley's boyfriend and neighbor is there to help, along with a full cast from previous books.
If you haven't read this series yet, and like paranormal romances and just plain fun, you will enjoy this book. A 4 for pure entertainment.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I picked it up as a freebie, then wound up buying another copy to get the new cover. After reading it, I don't mind spending the extra money on it! It was a very suspenseful read, and while much was revealed early on, there were a few twists in it that I didn't see coming. It has two guys, brothers no less, attracted to the same woman, and she's not a wilting flower, she can actually hold her own! I'm not sure who I root for in terms of who she should end up with, but this was one book that held my interest and that I could not put down!

Sounds good Trea! I added the book to my TBR.

I'm glad! I did really enjoy it! Be aware, there are some companion novellas that should be read in between certain books. For example, the next book I should read is Turn on a Dime - Blane's Turn, not Turn to Me.

Brief Review:
Mel has one passion--flying. When she is in a plain, all her troubles seem to disappear among the clouds. Lately, it seems all she has is nothing but trouble. It's in the form of the delicious but trouble-making Bo Black, who now owns the deed to her beloved airport. It comes in the much-loved turned crooked former owner Sally. And then of course there are those threatening emails and letters she's been receiving lately. Can it get any worse?
Bo is determined to get answers about his father's swindled fortune, and he knows just who to start with. Only when Sally proves elusive, he turns to Mel. Mel...the beautiful and gutsy pilot he can't seem to keep his mind and hands off of.
I really enjoyed this book. It has just the right mix of suspense and romance. Jill Shalvis is always a good go-to author for me, and she seldom disappoints.

This was a debut novella for Thorny Sterling and I really enjoyed it. It was a sweet romance and lots of twists and turn that were surprising.Allan wakes up in a meadow tied up and naked and has no idea how he dot there. Duke, the owner of the ranch he is on finds him and takes him in until they can figure out what is going on and how Allan got there. I loved Duke and Allan and was drawn into the story immediately. If this author writes more books in the future I will definitely read them.

I like Sandra Brown's romantic suspense novels. This book had lots of twists and turns and reminded me of Gone Girl.
Dr. Emory Charbonneau wakes up with a concussion, in a remote cabin, in the mountains of North Carolina. The last thing she remembers is training for a marathon. The guy in the room is gentlemanly and mysterious but he won't let her leave. Meanwhile, her husband Jeff is being looked into as a suspect in her disappearance. This was a good read but a little too predictable.

I'm sure her backlist is a mile long, but I bet it would be worth working my way through it.

Cameron Dane was always an automatic but for me and I really enjoyed the first two books in the Foster Siblings series but I felt no connection to either David or Ben in this story and had a hard time finishing this book. In addition to feeling no connection to Ben and David, this story just didn't draw me in and if I wasn't reading this for two challenges, I probably would have put it down without finishing it. There was nothing bad in this book but there was also nothing great either.
