James | 7 comments Something is here. Trying to understand what it is and how long it has been with us is the challenge. The evidence - well after you penetrate levels of disinformation and misinformation etc - the entire field is mined in many different ways - in this case maybe seeing the trees thru the forest is the problem. ... or the more cogent metaphor may be a needle in a haystack... better yet the mantis in the tree.

Jim (jimliedeka) Great quote, quite appropriate

There's definitely a trickster element to the paranormal which continually muddies the waters without any human assistance. I think there are intelligences involved but their motives are difficult to grasp. I believe their logic or thought processes or both are alien to us. NPI

James | 7 comments What it is aint exactly clear… I suggest how could it be clear? We stand at the summit of a mountain, an iceberg indeed, in this matter of underground knowledge. Quite a bit has eluded us down the centuries, uh… the millennia… Of course there is much speculation about all these things and has been… Are there people in the know… with a ‘wider’ knowledge..? Most definitely… do they want to share..? Why? The answer would be no… generally speaking... there would be no point... yet at the same time much is here already. There is much hidden in plain sight. However most of us would not believe the most unbelievable things so much of that knowledge will remain hidden until we change our perspectives and can see what has been given to us already with an ‘uncluttered’ vision.

James Morcan | 11378 comments I think the "Ancient Aliens" theory needs to be factored into this discussion as well. Not saying it's true necessarily, but the theory needs to be added into the mix.

I added a couple of images to the group's photo section to illustrate the basic idea of ancient ET's designing modern humans:

This article also caught my eye:

ET Genetic Code May Be Found In Human DNA, According To Kazakhstan Scientists' Biological SETI Theory
- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04...

For those of us who wonder if earthlings are the only intelligent species in the Milky Way and beyond, try this theory on for size: Two scientists in Kazakhstan believe humans may have an extraterrestrial "stamp" embedded into our genetic code, a mathematical message that would not be explained by Darwin's theory of
biological evolution.

The scientists are suggesting that an advanced alien civilization "seeded" our galaxy eons ago with an ET signal that eventually found its way to Earth, implanting a genetic code into humans, reports Discovery.com.

Physicist Vladimir I. shCherbak of al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Kazakhstan and astrobiologist Maxim A. Makukov of the Fesenkvo Astrophysical Institute refer to this far-out concept as "biological SETI."

The results of their research -- "The 'Wow! signal' of the terrestrial genetic code" -- can be found in the peer-reviewed journal, Icarus.

The title of their study, which was partially financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, refers to an unexplained radio signal detected by SETI scientists in 1977.

While SETI -- the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence -- relies on the use of radio telescopes
and signal-processing technology to search the heavens for alien life, shCherbak and Makukov theorize there's a better way of detecting ETs.

The Kazakhstan scientists believe there's a possible intelligent "signal" within the human genetic code.

"It has been repeatedly proposed to expand the scope for SETI, and one of the suggested alternatives to radio is the biological media," they write in the abstract of their study.

"Genomic DNA is already used on Earth to store non-biological information. Though smaller in capacity, but stronger in noise immunity is the genetic code. ... Once fixed, the code might stay unchanged over cosmological timescales; in fact, it is the most durable construct known.

Therefore, it represents an exceptionally reliable storage for an intelligent signature."

Makukov and shCherbak contend that life throughout the galaxy may have been spread by intelligent design, that instead of life developing as a result of random processes, maybe extraterrestrials had a hand in it.

But, of course, that begs the question: If the seeds of life somehow originated with ETs, who first
designed the designers?

James Morcan | 11378 comments The Bible also might possibly hold some accounts to support the theory of ancient aliens.

Of all the possible UFO accounts in the Bible, the one mentioned most often is Ezekiel's Wheel. One of the passages reads: "This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel." Ezekiel 1:16

For a passage by passage analysis of the Ezekiel chapter check out this article based on the work of NASA engineer Josef Blumrich: http://www.ufoevidence.org/cases/case...

You could be right on this one, Joseph, who knows.
But also keep in mind numerous theories which seemed utterly ridiculous at first and began with little to no evidence let alone proof have eventually been conclusively proven to be true and universally accepted as facts.
Sometimes, the global elite use this argument that "there's no proof, so shut up" to shoot down all theories which challenge or expose them. This has proven to be quite a successful technique in the mainstream media especially against conspiracy theorists but also high-level whistleblowers exposing corrupt politicians.
Personally, I'm not gonna fall into that trap of thinking anything without immediate proof is false and I think what is needed instead is to maintain a high level of skepticism combined with a totally open mind. When you hit that groove I find you are able to discover the needle in the haystack of conspiracy theories that turn out to be true...

Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater, my friend :)

James Morcan | 11378 comments More Wikileaks documents surface (possibly) confirming the existence of Extraterrestrial Life & UFOs: http://www.collective-evolution.com/2...

Wikileaks UFO/Extraterrestrial Documents

Prominent Lithuanian politician says that there are a “group of UFOs, who are making influence from the Cosmos.” That “there exists a decreasing group of persons, who are trying to rationally analyze the situation and objectively evaluate what is happening.” (source)

This cable comes from the year 2006 from the American Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania. The statement was made by Albinas Januska, who at the time was appointed adviser to the Lithuanian Prime Minister.

Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan Nobutaka Machimura Says UFOs definitely exist.

This is a cable from Japan that shows how the Chief Cabinet Secretary was unhappy with the governments official view rejecting the existence of UFOs. The document goes on to describe how he stated in a press conference that “I am sure that unidentified flying objects exist, otherwise it is impossible to explain the Nazca Lines (In Peru), isn’t it?” (source)

He also stated that ”the government has offered only a boilerplate response in its formal statement” regarding UFOs.

Tajik Mayor says there is life on other planets, and that peace and unity on Earth is necessary.

"On January 13 Ambassador called on Dushanbe Mayor and Chairman of the upper house of Parliament Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev at his parliamentary office. The Mayor began the meeting with a lengthy discourse on Afghanistan, thanking the United States for its contributions and sacrifices there, and saying that U.S. activities there were very important “as we enter the third millennium and the 21st century.”

Ubaidulloev thought the main task there was to build a sense of national identity among ethnically disparate groups, and said the United States was an example for this. He noted that “war is very dangerous”, and said “we know there is life on other planets, but we must make peace here first.

In a platitude-ridden meeting, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev said upcoming elections would be free and fair, that contributions to the Roghun Dam were voluntary, and that the losses suffered by the United States in Afghanistan were felt by Tajiks as their own. Ubaidulloev asked for help in getting Tajik students admitted to Harvard University, but effectively declined to help find a new location for an American Corner in Dushanbe. He asserted the existence of life on other planets, caveating this by noting that we should focus on solving our problems on Earth. End Summary. (source)

Julian Assange has also said that that a UFO cult called the Raelians were of concern to the U.S. ambassador in Canada. It’s not surprising that the U.S. ambassador in Canada was concerned with this group. Government agencies have been concerned, harassing, monitoring and questioning extraterrestrial abductees and contacts for a number of years. They have been studying this subject for a very long time.

VERY BRIEF example of other information that’s already out there

Within the past few years, dozens of governments admitted to allocating resources and having programs to study the UFO phenomenon. For instance, in Canada the RCMP, Transport Canada and the Department of National Defence recently admitted to tracking UFOs and investigating them. (source) They’ve been doing it for years, accumulating thousands upon thousands of UFO related documents -many of which have since been officially released.

Documents released by the National Security Agency (NSA) reveal what is recorded when a UFO is being tracked on radar.

Here's an excerpt from a four page U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and NSA report describing a particular encounter in great detail:

“As the F-4 approached a range of 25 nautical miles it lost all instrumentation and communications. When the F-4 turned away from the object and apparently was no longer a threat to it, the aircraft regained all instrumentation and communications. Another brightly lighted object came out of the original object. The second object headed straight toward the F4.”

Again the list goes on and on and thousands upon thousands of UFO related documents are now available in the public domain. For a summary of more documents that have been declassified and made available, a video done by historian and UFO expert Richard Dolan does a great job at doing just that in 10 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaxtK...

“Decades ago, visitors from other planets warned us about the direction we were heading and offered to help. Instead, some of us interpreted their visits as a threat, and decided to shoot first and ask questions after. Trillions of dollars have been spent on black projects which both congress and the commander in chief have deliberately been kept in the dark.” (source) –Former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer

“In one of the cases during the cold war, 1961, there were about 50 UFOs in formation flying South from Russia across Europe. The supreme allied commander was very concerned and was about ready to press the panic button when they turned around and went back over the North Pole. They decided to do an investigation and they investigated for three years and they decided with absolute certainty that four different species, at least, have been visiting this planet for thousands of years. There’s been a lot more activity in the past two decades, especially since we invented the atomic bomb.” (source) –Paul Hellyer

“Behind the scenes, high ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense” –Former head of CIA, Roscoe Hillenkoetter, 1960

“There is a serious possibility that we are being visited and have been visited for many years by people from outer space, by other civilizations. Who they are, where they are from, and what they want should be the subject of rigorous scientific investigation and not be the subject of ‘rubishing’ by tabloid newspapers.” –Lord Admiral Hill-Norton, Former Chief of Defence Staff, 5 Star Admiral of the Royal Navy, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee

“This thing has gotten so highly-classified…it is just impossible to get anything on it. I have no idea who controls the flow of need-to-know because, frankly, I was told in such an emphatic way that it was none of my business that I’ve never tried to make it to be my business since. I have been interested in this subject for a long time and I do know that whatever the Air Force has on the subject is going to remain highly classified” –Senator Barry Goldwater, Chairman of the Senate intelligence committee (source)

“There is abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been monitoring us for a very long time. That their appearance is bizarre from any type of traditional materialistic western point of view. That these visitors use the technologies of consciousness, they use toroids, they use co-rotating magnetic disks for their propulsion systems, that seems to be a common denominator of the UFO phenomenon” (source) –Dr. Brian O’leary, Former NASA Astronaut and Princeton Physics Professor

Former Sen. Mike Gravel (D-Alaska), and 2008 presidential candidate said that there is “an extraterrestrial influence that is investigating our planet. Something is monitoring the planet and they are monitoring it very cautiously.”

"I saw some lights that seemed to be in a line and it was almost like an upside-down check mark, and I saw them fly by and thought it was awfully strange. It wasn’t just one, but a line of them strung out along the South American coast...I do believe there’s other life in the universe." –Leroy Chiao, former NASA astronaut and Commander of the International Space Station

"Everything is in a process of investigation both in the United States and in Spain, as well as the rest of the world. The nations of the world are currently working together in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon. There is an international exchange of data." –Spanish General Carlos Castro Cavero

"There is another way whether it’s wormholes or warping space, there’s got to be a way to generate energy so that you can pull it out of the vacuum, and the fact that they’re here shows us that they found a way." -Jack Kasher, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus of Physics, University of Nebraska.

The universe being so vast and earth being relatively new, I ask myself: why have they not found us during all our existence? If the distance is the issue, then it says we humans will never be able to conquer it: because those much older and more advanced could not.

We have no plausible explanation why no life exists in our solar system. The earth was just as harsh before life emerged here. A harsh terrain should still contain life which should have adapted to conditions on Mars and Jupiter by the survival of the fittest premise, but this never happened - this tells me the harsh conditions do not apply. I mean, what can be more harsh than the journey of a sperm cell?

#1 You're making the assumption "they" (ETs) have not found us. I'm not saying that's a wrong assumption, but just pointing out it's an assumption you're presenting as if it's a fact. I'd point you toward the numerous quotes listed in this section by world leaders, NASA astronauts, Presidents and Prime Ministers, who have all stated on record the UFO phenomenon is all very real and/or ETs have already found us. Again, I'm not saying you are definitely wrong and they are definitely right, but these high level people's quotes cannot just be dismissed given they have been privy to much more information...

#2 The theory that the distances in space is too large to traverse is just that: a theory. It could be a correct theory, but not at all proven. For example, there are numerous counter theories which say that you cannot apply known Earth/Human physics to what's possible. Start considering other Quantum Physics-style concepts like antigravity tech, wormholes and bending space and time and these alternative theories seem at least possible. And plenty of mainstream scientists have gone on record to say they believe ETs have already found us or at least have the potential to find us - like this quote here:

"There is another way whether it’s wormholes or warping space, there’s got to be a way to generate energy so that you can pull it out of the vacuum, and the fact that they’re here shows us that they found a way." -Jack Kasher, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus of Physics, University of Nebraska.

That's also how religions began. Someone said he saw such and such. NASA must prove its case for such an important issue.

I fully accept mankind will move forward with new, advanced technologies. The issue is why have other supposedly more advanced life forms not done so - they should have known about worm holes, an intelligent vision, long ago?

I'm being a stiff-neck kill joy as a devil's advocate, and because there are holes in the issue which equally merit consideration.

If we are alone, or the evidence does not make this an absurd notion, it means humans have to re-evaluate their future position with a bigger picture view than battling each other: there's a lifeless universe out there waiting for us.

I'm all for people playing Devil's Advocate and that's great.
Just saying it's hard to reply to assumptions that are being presented as if they are fact (i.e. aliens have not found us yet). Could be a correct assumption of course.

And I DEFINITELY agree that we humans have to stop battling each other and start working together!!

James Morcan | 11378 comments Irish astronomer says he has successfully tracked UFOs -- http://www.irishcentral.com/news/iris...

Eamonn Ansbro, a Roscommon-based astronomer, attracted international media attention as he claims his research has unearthed evidence of extraterrestrial activity.

For the past 20 years Ansbro, from the town of Boyle, has been carrying out research on extraterrestrial intelligence. Ansbro gives presentations across the globe, including one to the French government.

Although his work might seem controversial and unusual he insists it is carried out "scientifically".

Ansbro's work has been published by the European Space Agency and he works as a part of a group of scientists called OSETI (Optical Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence).

His recent work shows that alien space-crafts follow defined paths around the earth. In his hometown of Boyle Ansbro has set up an "all sky camera" to monitor the whole sky hemisphere around the clock. The camera which comprises of 11 cameras record anything that moves or is unusual. Ansbro, along with other scientists, has collated the data which suggests that space-crafts are circling the earth.

He explained "When you take all that data and apply it to this theory we have found that it fits with the computerized time graphs and that we can predict when future sightings will occur and we have found that it has happened in Boyle."

He refers to thema as "Identified Flying Objects" rather than UFOs.

Making comparisons to Roswell, New Mexico, he said "the tourism potential is huge.” he said, drawing comparisons with theUFO centre in Roswell New Mexico, which attracts huge numbers of visitors every year and also another UFO centre in Japan.

He told his local paper the Roscommon Herald, "We haven’t proven our discovery to the scientific community yet and don’t have the resources but we can show that extraterrestrial space craft are on specific orbital tracks around the earth.”

Unfortunately we dont have many James but there is one theory regarding an ancient place called Sigiriya, a first century BC monastery which was later converted into a pleasure garden and a fortress in the fifth century AD by a King named Kashyapa.

A legend surrounding the giant rock fortress claims that it was built initially for Kuwera, the treasurer of gods by the ‘Vishwakarma’, the engineer of gods himself. The murals depicting pretty damsels with flowers in hand are held by some to be goddesses while some local archaeologists claim them to be the courtesans of King Kashyapa.

With the help of many scientists and archaeological evidence, Ancient alien theorists've built up an hypothetical case for ancient space travellers and past human-extra-terrestrial contact. Their investigation into monoliths scattered around the world question their possible connection with aliens and wonder whether they were build celebrating extra-terrestrials. This fortress is carved in a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high.

See this video clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb69x7...

David Elkin | 508 comments An incident that I have missed. It is from Coastzone; Any insight from our friends from Canada?

Shag Harbour Incident:

In the latter half, authors Chris Styles and Graham Simms , experts on the Shag Harbour UFO Incident, described the event, which has secured a place in Canadian history as one of the most documented UFO cases. On October 4, 1967 a large unknown lit object, hovered in the air, then descended rapidly into waters near Shag Harbour, a village in the province of Nova Scotia. When police arrived on the scene, the object was still visible on the water as a pale yellow dome, before it suddenly disappeared or submerged, Styles recounted. "Shag Harbour from the start has been a compelling argument for UFO reality and remains the world's only UFO crash scenario that is supported in that interpretation by government documents that are freely available and entirely without controversy as to their origin or authenticity," Styles remarked.

In a second sighting, exactly one week later, people saw lights emerge from the water, and interference with TV reception occurred at the same time. Simms reported on an alien abductee who had contacts with a bearded human-like entity named Malek, who said he was involved in the Shag Harbor incident, oversaw the Greys, and was part of a galactic community that interacted with Earth. Styles also described how the waters near Shag Harbour have one of the deepest rifts in the world (the Orpheus Rift), and such areas have gravitic and magnetic anomalies which have become associated with various paranormal phenomena.

Martin Hill (martinroyhill) | 125 comments In the history of the cosmos, the earth is a relatively young planet, and the human race has been around for a mere flicker of time. I think it's most likely there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, and it is very likely that some of that life is much older and more technologically advanced than we are.

It's interesting to note that in the 1700s, well educated people were much more amenable to the idea of intelligent life on other planets, including extraterrestrials visiting earth. It's as if the more knowledgeable we've become in science and technology, the more eco-centric we've become. But I work for a research organization, and I know too well there is more that we don't know than what we know. At best, what we think we know is less fact than consensus. In fact, that is a major plot point in my latest novel.

Yeah, fair enough Martin. That comment was bound to come up! I think you have to look around to see which Youtube posters are reliable, but when there are so many seemingly devoted to their cause of U.F.O spotting to the extent they're recording NASA feeds constantly (and it's not the first time oddities have appeared) I tend to trust them more.

At the end of the day no one trusts anything until they see it with their own eyes- and often then they won't believe it! :)

I agree with your assessment, Martin, and it really does seem to be the case that rigid scientific academia seems to have made some rather braindead when considering other possibilities beyond the Earth.

If you care to elaborate, is the research organization you work for focused on UFOs or the paranormal or scientific anomalies/fringe science? And is it a privately financed organization or governmental?

Also, which title is your latest novel that contains this info?

Thanks,
James

Cinderglacier the Universal (432hz528hzfelshadowraven) There is no doubt: We've been glanced at by Galactic Civilization AT LEAST once, maybe twice, but you have to ask yourself: 'Compared to Galactic, even Cosmic Society, are we really that interesting?' To be honest, in Society's Current State, plus our Technological Tier only just becoming PROPERLY Space-worthy in the long run, i really don't think we're that intriguing.
At most, other Species would want to Glean Biological Information from us via Experiments, VERY few humans here have actually seen a proper, real-deal UFO because the occupants of said UFO probably want to hide themselves from us, and frankly, with good reason.

Even fewer have probably ever been taken inside a Spacecraft belonging to some other species, out of the Billions, perhaps soon-to-be Trillions of Humans, only 3, or 4, 10 at most, out of all our people, have probably been witness to -- or been aboard -- a Spacecraft of what we consider Extraterrestrial origin.

To be blatantly basic and honest in my answer: No, i don't think we are being visited too much, Unless we put on a really good show of technology about something -- or other species have a proper directive, or reason for coming to our little Backyard in the Galaxy -- i really don't see why we'd be Noteworthy enough to visit more than a couple times.

James, in my day job I work for a US Navy medical research command as an analyst in combat casualty care capabilities. I was a journalist for 20+ years before switching careers just before the start of OIF. I've been a medic of one sort or another in the US Coast Guard and Navy reserves, law enforcement reserves, and disaster response teams. Ten years ago I was offered a commission as a medical service corps officer in a component of the California National Guard and trained Army combat medics. A couple years ago, I was retrained as a state military policeman and now I'm the executive officer of a MP battalion. (What a strange road I've taken in my life, eh?)

Anyway, I read a lot of scientific papers that leave me scratching my head and thinking, "Yes, but..." I sort of live by what Willie Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Scientists are one step closer to bringing a woolly mammoth back to life.

A new analysis of the woolly mammoth genome has revealed several adaptations that allowed the furry beasts to thrive in the subzero temperatures of the last ice age, including a metabolism that allowed them to pack on insulating fat, smaller ears that lost less heat and a reduced sensitivity to cold.

The findings could enable researchers to "resurrect" the ice-age icon — or at least a hybridized Asian elephant with a few of the physical traits of its woolly-haired cousin, said study co-author Vincent Lynch, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Chicago.

Janith Pathirage (pathirage) | 135 comments Another such record comes to my mind. In the book of Jonah, god assigns a mission to a man but he denies. He tries to escape from his destiny and god intervenes. God brings a storm so the sailors get scared and throw him overboard to avoid the divine wrath. And then he gets swallowed by a big fish with a shiny skin and it keeps him inside its belly for 3 days and releases him eventually..

Now we all know nobody can survive inside a fish belly for 3 days. What if it was some kind of a metal submarine ( The big fish with a shiny skin) , some type of a a mechanical apparatus. we know UFO do go in the water as well as in the air. This looks like misinterpreted technology to me.

That very idea has, indeed, been suggested by Ancient Alien theorists.
