Yeah I saw that but that debunking article (dated June 2017 if you notice) was an older article that appears to relate to a different, albeit very similar, story.

This latest report (just in the last few days), has been reported the world over in mainstream media rather than just alternative/conspiracy media, like the following in UK newspapers:

NAZCA TOMB: Latest tests on 'alien mummies' found in Peru say they are 'NOT human' https://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/...
SCIENTISTS continue to claim mysterious three-fingered, alien-like mummies are not like modern humans and could be extraterrestrials or an undiscovered ancient race. Despite earlier tests suggesting the bizarre corpses did have human DNA, scientists linked to the research team that announced the discovery last June, maintain they have found significant differences.

p.s. However, there are now reports by some saying the mummies have been looted in part, giving the impression of alien bodies. But I find that strange given several scientists have said the DNA found under tests was definitely not human. So is this all fake news, or could sites like Snopes be used to cover things up, or what?

Yes, it needs proof - but lack of proof (for time being) doesn't necessarily mean "there is no proof" in every instance. That's the twist.

And not saying Snopes is a cover-up site, I think it provides a good service against pseudoscientific claims, but I also think governments or intel. agencies could potentially from time to time use Snopes and other debunking sites to cover certain things up...

The mystery continues.

I am sure there would be some trace of them left behind, after all we can find fossilised dinosaur footprints where they walked in something soft that didn't stay soft. If footprints and nesting sites can leave traces for 70+ million years, I would expect a civilization to leave something.

Plutonium and its like would survive longer, but they should be too rare to count on finding.

On Earth, the best bet would be something ridiculously common and chemically nigh immortal. I'm thinking plastic.

If they were as advanced as us, then the best chance of finding anything would be buried in the lunar dust.

The key to fossilising is to find anaerobic conditions, which usually occurs under piles of detritus, soil, etc. Even if an iron object turned into magnetite, its shape would prevail, not accurately, but unnaturally, Similarly, concrete, even if it degrades, will leave a pattern of residue that is not natural. On the other hand, plastic is not immortal and would probably degrade after a few centuries.

J. Gowin | 136 comments Ian,

You appear to be correct about PET. I found this article on a study of PET deposted on the seafloor, online.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...

I am curious about the signifigant amount of organic chemicals that this study indicates are being added to specific areas of the seafloor and landfills. Would the source material leave a chemical or isotopic signature, in resulting petroleum or coal, which would differ from that expected from other sources?

I was unable to find much of use regarding HDPE or polystyrene, other than their projected life expectancy at 100% humidity. (5000 years for polystyrene)

message 470: by Ian (new)

Ian Miller | 1422 comments J., Some of the plastics would leave a source chemical signature. If we take a sample of crude oil there are steroids in there (admittedly low concentrations) that will tell you the sort of algae the oil came from, and there are other chemicals that will signify if it came from land-based plants. Many coals have residues of their lignin, and you can find petrified rocks from the ages of the dinosaurs where you can tell what the tree was. I have seen a report of a fossil of a filamentous alga (Bangia family) for 1.3 Gy BP. I do not see the possibility that an ancient civilisation could have evolved and left no trace. On the other hand, had some aliens landed here, stayed a couple of weeks and cleaned up after them there would be no trae whatsoever. If they stayed longer, it might depend on where and how tidy they were. Our rubbish dumps will be identifiable as rubbish dumps for millions of years, even if none of the rubbish is itself identifiable, but the assembly remains will be obviously non-natural.

James Morcan | 11378 comments Alien Mummy and Missile Range Mystery https://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2...

Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discussed a strange, alien-looking female "mummy" covered in white powder with only three fingers and three toes and its current DNA results, as well as the mysterious 'Area 29' located within White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Linda described the examination of a mummy found in an apparent underground "mausoleum" in Peru some 33 miles north-west of the famous Nazca lines. The being has an elongated skull, very long fingers, and toes, and was found covered in a white powder that was determined to be diatomaceous earth (a substance formed from fossilized microorganisms) in order to preserve the body. An analysis of the biological material still found in the figure indicated that it was at least 1800 years old, and as Steve Mera (who Linda interviewed for the segment) said, "could represent some form of human that we are not aware of" or could also be some form of human mutation or hybrid. The body and others have since disappeared into what Mera called "a warehouse full of these things."

Mera was shown photos of the alleged cave or tomb, and other artifacts that were found inside. The images included something that looked like ancient Sumerian cuneiform writing and one object which was reported as a 15-foot-high gold box topped with a pyramidal structure that supported a crystal of some kind. Mera theorized that it could have been some sort of communication device. Both Linda and Mera believe there is an active effort by someone with a great deal of power and wealth to cover up the existence of these mummies and artifacts found near the Nazca area.

In the third hour, Linda presented her interview with researcher Ryan Wood, who revealed information about a secret facility within the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico referred to as "Area 29." Wood and his father Robert received documents and photos referring to this facility beginning in the mid-1990s, and recently hired a remote viewer he referred to as "Sky Arrow" to report on any impressions that could be deduced from the material. According to Wood, the viewer first said that the "target makes me nervous," but went on to describe a facility that housed space vehicles, UFOs, and "experimental energy research for deep space propulsion vehicles." From these impressions, Wood concluded that the facility is "tapping into something that modern, open science doesn’t know or understand."

David Elkin | 508 comments The White Sands Missile Range is huge. Lot's could be there. From Wiki "White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) is a United States Army military testing area of almost 3,200 sq mi (8,300 km2) in parts of five counties in southern New Mexico. The largest military installation in the United States, WSMR and the 600,000-acre (2,400 km2) McGregor Range Complex at Fort Bliss to the south (southeast Tularosa Basin and on Otero Mesa[8]) are contiguous areas for military testing.[9] On 9 July 1945, the White Sands Proving Ground was established for testing German and American long range rockets. Just seven days later, the first atomic bomb test, code named Trinity was exploded at Trinity Site, near the north boundary of the range.[10]" Think about that when trying to find anything on a very restricted military area.

But seriously, I didn't realize WSMR was that huge a facility.

I also don't understand why it says on Wiki they were testing German rockets at that site. I assume that would be captured German tech post WW2 and something to do with Operation Paperclip?

Aliens at the Pentagon

For years, the US government denied they investigated UFOs, so when the existence of a secret Pentagon program to study the phenomenon was revealed in late 2017, the bombshell revelation made headline news around the world. The Pentagon’s classified UFO project was so cleverly hidden, it didn’t even use the term ‘UFO’ in its title. Known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP for short), this multi-million dollar classified program researched and investigated UFOs, with even Congress
knowing nothing about this super-secret unit.

Nick Pope used to investigate UFOs and other unexplained phenomena for the British government, leading the media to call him the real Fox Mulder. Now Nick exposes the secretive workings of the Pentagon’s real-life X-Files unit, using his knowledge and past experience to tell the incredible story as only a true government insider can.

Learn the secret history of AATIP – how they studied videos of military jets chasing UFOs, looked at ‘mystery metals’, and even conducted tests on close encounter witnesses. Nick puts the AATIP story into context, revealing how a ‘believer faction’ within government is making its move, and explaining how and why they’ve taken their work out of government and into the private sector. This work takes us tantalizingly close to a definitive explanation of the UFO mystery, but that explanation might not be the one people are hoping for, because the T in AATIP stands for “threat” – and there’s a reason for that.

Starring Nick Pope, also known as “The Real Fox Mulder”

“Riveting insight into a global phenomenon.” – Starburst

“Well researched and highly compelling.” – Phenomenon Magazine

Startling research, the evidence is overwhelming.” – Zohar Media

“The shocking truth about the Alien Agenda is something that the people of Earth are not prepared for.” – OH Krill, author of Montauk Babies

“Humans are under the control of a strange force that is bending them in absurd ways, forcing their role in a bizarre game of deception.” – Dr. Jacques Valle

James Morcan | 11378 comments 1977 Alien Abduction & Mysterious Radio Bursts: https://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2...

On Thursday's show, investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe delved into mysterious repeating radio bursts in space, and a 1977 UFO abduction case linked to unexplained implants. In a special three-part report, Linda interviewed former USAF Airman Terry Lovelace about his extraordinary alien abduction which took place in the summer of 1977 while camping at Devil's Den State Park in the Ozark Mountains. At their campsite, Lovelace and his friend Tobias witnessed an enormous triangular craft but felt compelled to "sleep" shortly afterward. When they awakened, they saw the area was flooded with light and around 12-15 small beings in groups of twos and threes were wandering in the meadow. "They took us, Terry," Tobias announced, "and they hurt us."
