Carolyn | 9836 comments Russell Braddon's 1958 biography of Nancy Wake has been edited and re-released. If you don't already know much about her, it makes for fascinating reading (and is still available on netgalley).

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments Murder in the monastery is why Louise Penny sends her incomparable Chief Inspector Armand Gamache into the backwoods of Quebec. He investigates The Beautiful Mystery, which is the Gregorian chant for which these monks are famous. Number 8 in a favourite series.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments Popular Aussie journalist, radio host and author Richard Glover had an unusual childhood, which he shares in his funny, disturbing memoir Flesh Wounds. How he became such a cheerful, compassionate man is beyond me.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments Hi all! I just read a book that completely wowed me, and as it is a memoir/book about trees by an Australian author I just had to come here and rave to you about it.

Understory a life with trees by Inga Simpson by Inga Simpson

review; https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I guess reading this much about trees might not be for everyone but I loved it! I love reading about Australian, ecology, habitat and vegetation and there are not enough books out there that are not text books. By combines trees and memoir this book did a great job of it.

Also - so very well written, a literary treat.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I just finished a lovely novel by Annie Seaton set in a place I have been lucky enough to visit; Daintree (The Porter Sisters #2) by Annie Seaton

It is a bit of a shame to read the second one of the series first, as I now know how Kakadu Sunset turns out. Still, after listening to her author talk, I just had to read another of her books, and the library was all booked out for the first in the series.
