This is such a great series (and book). Perfect for fans of horror, and dark fairy tales.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments State of the Union: A Marriage in Ten Parts by Nick Hornby:
I found this little book difficult to read. The problem was that I was often laughing so much I had tears in my eyes, and that makes it hard to focus on the print. At one line in chapter four I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the treadmill. Best not to mention continence issues. But there's wisdom and insight too. Apparently it's now a TV series, which I intend to look up: it would definitely translate well to the screen

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Sara Foster's sixth novel is excellent Aussie crime fiction but for one little niggle about something I don't think a seventeen-year-old girl would do. That brought it down to 4★s

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments If you ever needed an example of two over-used words, resilience and resourcefulness, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is it! Betty Smith's classic story of childhood before World War One is barely disguised as fiction. How her mother turned bread into so many different meals is hard to imagine!

Carolyn | 9836 comments Tess Gerritsen's latest book The Shape of Night by Tess Gerritsen The Shape of Night, didn't quite hit the mark for me, although a lot of other readers loved it. I was a bit disappointed since I love her Rizzoli and Isles series.
