Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments David Vann's books are not for everyone. With Suicide as the main theme, Halibut on the Moon is a dark and powerful read.

This one is excellent if you like a good thriller with a touch of horror.

Carolyn | 9836 comments No Exit by Taylor Adams No Exit by Taylor Adams is a very intense psychological thriller where a college student driving in a snowstorm is forced to spend the night at a roadside rest stop with four strangers. 5★

Carolyn | 9836 comments I really enjoyed this novel from Aussie writer Trevor Shearston, Hare’s Fur by Trevor Shearston Hare’s Fur, where a widowed potter living in the Blue Mountains comes across three children evading social services by living in a cave.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments This exceptionally beautifully written book by an American author was a surprise;

The Road to Enchantment by Kaya McLaren

It's not a flawless book but I really enjoyed it.

Sorry to hear you did not like this one Sharon, but I do understand because it has some oddities about it's writing style. Funnily enough, I loved this one but really didn't enjoy The Geography of Friendship by Sally Piper which had some very similar writing tactics.

5 stars, while it took me a long time to get around to reading this book well worth the wait.

Paul Lockman | -25 comments I just got through I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb, the book that had been on my to read list the longest. At just under 900 pages, took me a while to finish it. 4 stars. Here’s my review.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments I'm happy to admit that I'm thoroughly addicted to Graham Brack's Josef Slonský series. Field of Death: An atmospheric international mystery is excellent and I can't wait to see what happens in #5 (which I know has gone to the publisher)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments Sulari Gentill's Rowland Sinclair series was already on my radar when I won a copy of #9 All the Tears in China. I had been acquiring them slowly, with still a few gaps in my library (#2, #3, #7 & #8), but I've now read the (free) prequel, The Prodigal Son and #9 and just finished #1 A Few Right Thinking Men, which is an excellent first in the series, and I will definitely be reading more of Rowly.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments I'm a bit late to the party with this one, but after Carolyn's review this series was on my radar. Then I won a copy of #10 Ice Cold Heart, so I thought I'd better familiarise myself with the characters by reading book #1 Monkeewrench aka Want To Play? by American mother-daughter writer duo, P.J. Tracy. Definitely a series I want to continue, luckily I have seven books of the series.
