Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han is the last book in this fluffy YA trilogy and slightly underwhelming compared to the first two unfortunately. Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Another off my TBR mountain, I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh, was for me a bit of a let-down. 3.5★.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Small Country was a moving and thought-provoking story, centred on the 1990s genocide in Rwanda and Burundi.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Well, I've been sucked into the Josef Slonsky series vortex. #1 Lying and Dying was excellent, #2 Slaughter and Forgetting: Murder and intrigue on the streets of Prague... is as good, if not better, and I am very much looking forward to the next one, Death On Duty: Authentic detective fiction, packed full of suspense. Graham Brack's on a winner, IMHO. Mick Herron fans will enjoy this series too. Brack should see this comparison as a big compliment about his work.
5 big ★s

Something in the Wine by Tricia Stringer is a rural romance so not my usual genre. Set in the vineyards of Margaret River, a region I always enjoy visiting, it was an entertaining read and it's always good to see the girl end up with the right guy!review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Any youngsters who want to backpack around the world (and their parents!!) should read this cautionary tale See You In September by (now) NZ author Charity Norman. New Zealand, but not as you know it. Don't let my 3★ put you off.

I’ve just finished the third of Graham Brack’s Josef Slonský series, Death On Duty: Authentic detective fiction, packed full of suspense, and the best indication of how much I was enjoying it is that I was doing that annoying thing: reading bits out to my DH as I went along. Definitely 5 ★s, and I’ll remind you that the first three as a boxset are still on special at Amazon for $1.99. Do read them in order for maximum enjoyment. Now I just have to be patient for a week and #4, Field of Death: An atmospheric international mystery will be published. Then maybe I will find out why Slonský wants a pair of uniform shoes, even though he doesn’t wear a uniform…

The author calls it a re-imaging of the making of the movie of "Wizard of Oz" in 1939 but it centres around the life of L.Frank Baum (author of the book) and his widow Maud and has a lot of interesting facts about their lives together as well as the making of the movie.
