Carolyn | 9836 comments I enjoyed Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts 4★.

The author calls it a re-imaging of the making of the movie of "Wizard of Oz" in 1939 but it centres around the life of L.Frank Baum (author of the book) and his widow Maud and has a lot of interesting facts about their lives together as well as the making of the movie.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2304 comments For the more gruesome-loving people:

Prince of Nightmares by John McNee has some colourful descriptions of people being mutilated by supernatural beings. *shudder*

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2304 comments Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han is the last book in this fluffy YA trilogy and slightly underwhelming compared to the first two unfortunately.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments Well, I've been sucked into the Josef Slonsky series vortex. #1 Lying and Dying was excellent, #2 Slaughter and Forgetting: Murder and intrigue on the streets of Prague... is as good, if not better, and I am very much looking forward to the next one, Death On Duty: Authentic detective fiction, packed full of suspense.
Graham Brack's on a winner, IMHO. Mick Herron fans will enjoy this series too. Brack should see this comparison as a big compliment about his work.

5 big ★s

Carolyn | 9836 comments My review for The Eighth Sister by Robert Dugoni, a fast action packed cold war style novel and legal drama. 4.5★, marred only by some loose ends I felt were not resolved.

Carolyn | 9836 comments Something in the Wine by Tricia Stringer Something in the Wine by Tricia Stringer is a rural romance so not my usual genre. Set in the vineyards of Margaret River, a region I always enjoy visiting, it was an entertaining read and it's always good to see the girl end up with the right guy!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9973 comments I’ve just finished the third of Graham Brack’s Josef Slonský series, Death On Duty: Authentic detective fiction, packed full of suspense, and the best indication of how much I was enjoying it is that I was doing that annoying thing: reading bits out to my DH as I went along. Definitely 5 ★s, and I’ll remind you that the first three as a boxset are still on special at Amazon for $1.99. Do read them in order for maximum enjoyment.

Now I just have to be patient for a week and #4, Field of Death: An atmospheric international mystery will be published. Then maybe I will find out why Slonský wants a pair of uniform shoes, even though he doesn’t wear a uniform…
