Food Plan Spring 2020

🌟🌠🌟By Decree: Cynda can eat sugar and grains twice a year when participating in Dewey's Readathon🌟🌠🌟

My meals will be healthy and seasonal.
And my snacks are decidedly unhealthy and irrespective of seasons.

I am making a box of Duncan Hines brownies with California Walnuts into which I will add a 1/2 cup or more of bananas.

I have had a tradition of a nice frozen pizza. Starting now my new food tradition: One time I have baked goods, and the next time I have a pizza. Changes can be very very good. I trust this one will be.

Second half of readathon. I am switching to smaller books so I can have some sense of accomplishment in having read two or three small books.

I am planning to read
Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl
Melancholy Play also by Sarah Ruhl
The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee.

Cool. I saw a production of Eurydice a few years ago and was interested in how Sarah Ruhl put a modern spin on the old myth. Good reading!

Good to hear Susan. I see a production is posted on YouTube. At a glance it looks good. I hope to make time to watch the production after I read.

Susan | 986 comments That’s so helpful I find, to see the play after reading it. YouTube is quite an asset — I just read a book with Lippizanner (sp) horses and found a clip of their performance, a nice add-on to the book. Enjoy the rest of your Readathon!

If I were awake awake, I would be able to finish my last book in the last hour and 40 minutes. I cannot continue. Next time I will change up how I sleep. More on that in my closing comments.

Thank you all for being a part of my readathon as I am honored to have been part of yours. Good night no Good Morning. See you in next day or so as we wrap up.

Closing Survey

1. How would you assess your reading overall? I did well by finishing 3 plays and reading from 3 books.
I finished
1. The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee
2. Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl
3. Melancholy Play by Sarah Ruhl
The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail by Jerome Lawrence Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl Melancholy Play by Sarah Ruhl
I read from 3 others books.
So I read a lot.

2. Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
I had a plan to go to bed 10 hours before the readathon started so I stood a good chance of getting 8 hours' worth of sleep. I planned to take 30-minute naps and to exercise on my yoga mat as I fekt the need. Took the naps and used the yoga mat. I did not do the 8-hours of sleep. I learn from this.
Next Time.

3. What wasmyour favorite snack? I made brownies with walmuts and banana. Yummy.

4. Wanna volunteer for our next event? Stay posted to our Recap Post.
I volunteered this time to lead a co-moderator thread and enjoyed it.
I will sign up again.

I filled out the Recap Post on the Dewey's homepage.
I signed off with all those I socialized with.
Now time for writing reviews. . . .
Enjoyed It.
We will do it again.

Haha. I think a better option for me to try is banana with peanut butter (or any nut butter) when making fudge like brownies. The flavor was nice. Might try in cake like brownies. Experiments.

Starting Survey
1. What fine part of the world are you reading from?
I am reading in Corpus Christi, TX which is located on the Gulf Coast.

2. What bookare you most looking forward to?
I have selected some I really want to read. I may be most looking forward to:
Snow, Glass, Apples by Neil Gaiman
El Deafo by Cece Bell
Showtime at the Apollo: The Epic Tale of Harlem’s Legendary Theater by Ted Fox
Out of Line: The Art of Jules Feiffer by Martha Fay

3. Tell a little about yourself.
Today I made a new friend. I hooked up a neighbor with a collection of plays. When he gives a new phine--his is barely usable--I will hook him up with Goodreads and Deweys.

4. If you participated in the past readathon, what's one thing you'll do differently? I will sleep. In that way, my readathon time will last 2 days, and I will not be overly tired.

Food Plans

I am thinking cheese enchiladas with pico de gallo. I use the red enchilada sauce recipe from budgetbytes.com. So Good. (I can make other kind of enchies another time. . .)

I have bought some spearmint tea to flavor my iced tea.

As for snacks and nibbles, maybe some healthier trail mix of mostly nuts and fruits. And maybe some grapes as they are in season.

Yumminess is on it's way.
