5.1 - A Night at the Museum: Read a book with a main page genre that starts with a letter in MUSEUM.

I read True Story: Murder, Memoir, Mea Culpa by Michael Finkel which has a main page genre of MYSTERY.

10.2 - Free For All: Numerous museums around the world allow free entry, although donations are appreciated. Read a book that you got for free – a gift, library book, etc.REQUIRED: Explain in your post how you got the book.

I read Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. I borrowed the book from the Philadelphia Free Library system.

15.8 - The Red Baron: Read a book with an airplane on the cover*. An airplane is a fixed-wing aircraft capable of sustained flight flown by a pilot such as a glider, biplane, floatplane, or jet. It is NOT a kite, helicopter, hot air balloon, paper airplane or parachute. *Some portion of the wing must be visible.

I read The Alice Network by Kate Quinn by Kate Quinn

25.3 - Correcting Mistakes Before They Happen: This is a two-book task, and the total number of pages must be no less than 500.

Book 1: Read a book originally written in a language other than the one or ones in which you are literate that has been translated into a language that you can read. The translator’s name MUST be present in the Goodreads main book record because if it weren’t for him/her you wouldn’t have been able to read this book.

I read The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende which was translated from the original Spanish by Nick Caistor. I am not able to read Spanish. (322 pages)

Book 2: Read a book by an author whose initials can be found in the phrase READ CAREFULLY. All initials count First, Middle (if applicable), and Last.

I read The Perfect Horse: the Daring U.S. Mission to Rescue the Priceless Stallions Kidnapped by the Nazis by Elizabeth Letts. (400 pages)

30.2 - Castles and other Historical Sites: Pick 2 different options and read a book for each.

Option 1: Read a book with a main page genre of biography, stand alone or embedded.

I read A Rip in Heaven by Jeanine Cummins

Option 3: Read a book, nonfiction or fiction, with a main page genre of World War II, embedded or stand alone

I read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

25.4 - Catherine T's Task: Museums For Learning

Book 1: the museums & galleries cover a wide range of areas between them, but we're going to focus on the broad sweep. Read a book with a main page genre of History, Science or Biography or a related subgenre under one of those genres, such as History>Microhistory or Science>Biology.

Seeing Like A State: How Certain Schemes To Improve The Human Condition Have Failed by James C. Scott
MPG History 132 users
I read the Kindle edition. The paperback for reference here has 445 pages.

Book 2: the National Gallery has a (we hope!) blockbuster exhibition planned to open in April, "Monet and Architecture", and Tate Britain also has an exhibition "Impressionists in London". Both of these will have a lot of buildings in them, so, read a book with a building on the cover. The building must be an exterior view of a man-made construction.

Lafayette in the Somewhat United States by Sarah Vowell by Sarah Vowell
I read the Kindle edition. The paperback for reference here has 288 pages.

445 + 288 = 733
Both of these books were new to me and both were fantastic!
