I helped create this idea in 2017, but I didn't get to participate on Goodreads. I did this challenge in real life, but this time I'd like to participate in the group. :)

Hi Susy. I have tried to find where the monthly reads were being discussed and one of the previous groups but have never been able to find out where that was happening. It boils down to a lack of time to spend actually exploring the site and the fact I am not very computer savvy.

Debi Robertson | 19 comments So of the many books on my 'to read/finish' shelf I have chosen 20. Some of them are classics like War and Peace and smaller books like the HItchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Should be a great year. I have no courses planned so textbooks will not get in the way. Bring on the challenge.

Book No. 1. War and Peace, two months of reading. Off the shelf.

Ju Transcendancing (transcendancing) I'm in for this, I'll go for 50 books total, 40 ebook and 10 physical.

(I need to reduce my backlog so hoping this is some of the incentive for it. Related, I'm going with reducing my to-read list by 50, a lot I have but a lot I don't, if it's on my to-read list prior to 1st Jan 2018 I plan to count it though).

C. Jellie | 2 comments Hi! I’d like to join in with a bit of a twist. I’m planning not to buy/ read any new books for the next year. I’m aiming for 100 books in any format but my exception is that I am allowed books/ebooks/audiobooks from the library. That way if I need to read something specific for a challenge/ bookclub etc I can still read it.

message 89: by Inkeri (new)

Inkeri | 118 comments I'm thinking I might as well do this challenge next year. I've compiled a list of books I'll most likely read next year and so far eight of them are books that I own and have been planning to read since the dawn of time.

I will set my goal to 10 books.

CLEAR ALL YOUR BOOKSHELVES CHALLENGE

message 90: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Jacobson This is brilliant. I don’t know what challenges I want to commit to. I may do a mix of many of them. But I will take true initial challenge here. I just bought a bunch of books, so I’ll stop and make myself wait until I read 5 books I own before I get any more from the library or buy any more!
