Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments I didn't add them because I wasn't sure which letter we should pick for them to represent. I think it's good to keep track, just not sure how to add it to the spreadsheet yet (if we should, maybe we could just keep track of that on the thread until the book has been read and we decide where to place it), especially with this many letters, it will be good to keep the options open for switching things around as needed, but also needing to keep track of what letters definitely aren't covered so we can choose a book accordingly.

CassieV | 1196 comments If it's anything like last week we will be moving them around even after they're read to get everything to fit ;). I know I had to get creative with the placement as we got down to the line and had to finish up one word before the next.

That being said, waiting until the books are read to add them works for me!

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 396 comments I'm reading Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid
There's a character named Bree and a character named Sonia.
So it can work for A, B, or S.

CassieV | 1196 comments Ack, sorry I haven't checked in before now! Every time I sat down at the computer today, something came up!

Anywho, I'll get everyone added. I'll be finishing up an F tonight and I also found a Y author in my pile. Now to just find time to read it, lol! I may switch it for my Anne book since it seems as if we have plenty of A's so far.

Keep up the good work everyone!

We can pretty much make anything work, so no worries there! I have other challenges to read for as well, so I know the struggle ;).

Got all of your books added. Not having any trouble finding spots so no worries there!

Three-ish days left, keep up the good work!

I liked it. It was kind of slow getting into it, but I did end up liking it.

message 182: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Awesome, Kim and Kaitlin!

We're off on our weekend adventure, but I'm hoping to get my Y book done by tomorrow night.

Anyone else have fun plans for the weekend?

message 183: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments Awesome work guys, sorry I haven't been able to read that much this week, had a big trial yesterday that took a lot of my time, I am currently listening to I, Robot by Isaac Asimov, and should be done with that by tomorrow. We just need to get a Y book completed before any new books can count.

This weekend will be low key for me, maybe start a new book after I finish this one, and get next week started off pretty quickly. Enjoy your weekend, Cassie!

Also, just as a point of discussion, what are some of your favorite characters? Mine would have to be Jonas from The Giver, as that is one of my favorite books of all time, but I like her tenacity in that novel, he finds a grievous error in the way his community has brought perfection and had the courage to do something about it, very inspiring. Who is your favorite character(s) from a novel(s)? Why?

message 184: by Kme_17 (last edited Jul 25, 2014 02:27PM) (new)

Kme_17 | 453 comments Hope the case went well Corey. Cassie have fun! I love the characters from When Autumn Leaves the women in this book all have a bit of magic in them and they have their faults. It is interesting how they use the magic to change their lives. Also love how they interact with each other. Very good book that reminds me a lot of Sarah Addison Allen work.

message 185: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1865 comments Work has been a bit crazy this week as we're shuffling around furniture in our office in addition to trying to keep the workflow going.

I should be finished with The Restorer (A) by tomorrow evening.

message 186: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments It did, I got my client a ten year injunction, I wanted a permanent but 10 years was still a big win!

message 191: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments Great job everyone! We are about on par with amount of books read last week, which is good, consistency will help us win this race. Don't forget to post by the deadline tonight, I am possibly going to dinner and a movie tonight, so want to get everything posted by 8 p.m. EDT, so 7 p.m. CDT, but to be safe the earlier you can finish and post would be great!

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday afternoon.

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 396 comments I finished A Break of Day and that's probably it for me.
I'm starting another book today, but I doubt that I'll finish before the deadline.

message 193: by Kaitlin (new)

Kaitlin (kait-k) | 455 comments I finished Affliction by Russell Banks.

I'm not sure about my favorite character...book would be easy but to pick one character is more difficult for me :). My favorite recently read character would probably be Piper from The Lost Hero, she's spunky but realistic at the same time. I'll have to keep thinking on my all time favorite, though!

Corey wrote: "Great job everyone! We are about on par with amount of books read last week, which is good, consistency will help us win this race. Don't forget to post by the deadline tonight, I am possibly going..."

I'm working hard to get mine done (Millie's Treasure) and I'll update as soon as I can get through it, now that my kids are worn out from pool time. Thanks again for doing this for me this weekend, Corey!

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments This weeks Genre: Middle Grade

message 198: by Kaitlin (last edited Jul 26, 2014 06:46PM) (new)

Kaitlin (kait-k) | 455 comments What does that mean? Like Young Adult?

This week I'll be finishing I Wear the Black Hat: Grappling With Villains by Chuck Klosterman. I guess that will have to be an I because it's non-fiction, so there are no characters [does anybody else feel like these challenges are biased against non-fiction readers? ;-) ]

I'll also be finishing And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini (none of the characters will help us) and Belle Weather: Mostly Sunny with a Chance of Scattered Hissy Fits by Celia Rivenbark, which is humor, so no characters there.

So I'd like to claim I, A and R so far.

message 199: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments It's like middle school books, all about middle grade here

message 200: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Oh, middle grade can be fun! Rick Riordan is a fav of mine :). I have Mark of Athena up to be read soon, so I can do that one this week. I'll check when I get back on my computer, but it should work as a genre read.
