Are you available for husband training, Will?

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Well, that day didnt go as planned! Got to the coffee morning to get asked to do a home visit that was 5 mins from the fundraiser, so said I'd do it after getting the car hoovered, lovely chatty couple so was there 2 hours! They have a 15 year old English Sheepdog, never met such a quiet dog! They are taking 3 of our cats! Then had to feed my neighbours cats and sort the fire. So no housework!

Our postie is a canadian lady called Judy, we have a laugh with her, and she's good at putting parcels in a safe place for us. Very impressed Will.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments My postie puts parcels through the top window. Its a tiny window but big enough for most things. Its very handy for non-fragile stuff.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Well hello there!

Nice lie in, huge grocery shop, veg for dinner all prepared.

Now lunch then I'm going to spend the afternoon in bed reading.

Plus weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvahs.

There's actually a more prosaic explanation. I'm about to start a new desk job which means wearing a suit far more often than I do now. And that means getting rid of the shirts that don't fit, the ones with frayed collars and the jokey ties that aren't really suitable any more.

Good morning all. The Mem and best boy are off to (different) churches while I'm due to write a sex scene. As you do.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I made Dave charity shop his one and only suit when we moved to Azerbaijan.
You shoulda seen it.

It was a weird green colour and it was *gulp* SHINY!

At least it wasn't plaid corduroy.

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning, all. Hppefully a sleepy Sunday ahead, but the animals will do their best to interfere.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Morning all, finally we have some sunshine after a week of gloom. Brother in law's private funeral followed by memorial service the following day now that's all over it's back to getting on with it. I plan a long invigorating walk.

Hold your loved ones close x

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Morning all, had a disturbed night sleep so didn't want to get up, but loads of housework to do.

Glad you finally have some sunshine R. A long invigorating walk sounds just what you need. Interesting sounding suit Patti!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good morning, my OH has squirrel DNA in his gene pool. You have to kill old socks and dispose of their bodies quietly or go to war and shout a lot to get him to let go of a pair. The dog joins in with that game though so he’s outnumbered. It’s quite moving how attached he is to his socks.
Baby still in hospital, he should have come home on Saturday but he’s caught a cold so he’s got a feeding tube again.

Editing, followed by the evening meal at my sisters, so that's the end of the cooking for me till tomorrow.

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments Morning All (just)

Lovely meal at the Chinese restaurant last night and then a cooked breakfast this morning. Better go for a walk later. Bought hubby a metal detector for Christmas so we'll give that a swirl today.

Now to edit for a few hours. Note to self: walk away from the internet, walk away from the internet!

Hah, good luck with that, Kelly. The internet never beckons so sweetly as when editing is on the agenda. (Ahem. Yes, I will get back to the editing myself, shortly.)

Step away from the internet!

I hope all of this is a distant memory very soon. I was in the hospital for a week with my newborn first child; it isn't any fun. Thinking of the mum and baby and your whole family.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments I have spent the day untangling wool, as described in my latest blog post. However, I have now succeeded and am attempting to install a wifi printer. Hmm ...

On the lighter side, I put the first downpayment on a new bicycle this week. They've taken it out of the window. Another 11 or 12 weeks and it'll be mine!

Cheers

MTM

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4835 comments Yay, printer!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Well, struggling with energy today, so not done much housework - Lucy clearly realised I had no energy so kept sitting on me!! Going to have a bath shortly, just dealt with the charity e-mails and we've received a very generous legacy, combined with e-mails about 2 more donations from local companies has made a good start to the year.

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning, all. Won't be online much today as I'm at a social prescribing conference - first step is working out what that means!

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Morning all. It's dark and raining here ... typical Monday then. I have to do my tax return today. I used to do the short form but chose to do it on line so now I have to do the long one. Pages of incomprehensible questions, the answers to which I guess, all with the added frisson of knowing that if I get them wrong I might go to prison. Luckily I kept a copy of the first one which I filled in by, basically doing it step by step with the helpline. So I just copy that with different numbers.

However, when I've done that and the parish mag and written the children's book in the style of Julia Donaldson that I've been asked to write, my life's officially my own again and I can get started on the w.i.p. again.

Cheers

MTM

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments I’m waiting to hear if Harry’s first day in nursery school was good. I took him, he seemed quite happy and went in willingly, he did say I could come too as he trotted off with his group and I left quickly. His mum & dad will collect him. We dodged the heavy showers here, we were lucky.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It was so dark and dismal here I just slept the day away - didn't wake up until after 4pm!

And now I have heard that Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries has died. She was only 46!

46 is no age at all - that's terrible.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Fundraising meeting went well, didn't have to say no too much. Shattered now. Sounds like we got back just in time, sounds like hail is hitting the window.

Hope Harry enjoyed his first day. 46 is no age

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments I rang them to ask and they think he was OK but he’s cried all the way home because he thought I’d be there. He’s really clingy with me at the moment. Tomorrow will be a bit of a test, if he wants to go again. Hope so, hope he doesn’t think that’s it. I’ve been to school, end of.....

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'm sure they made a big deal about seeing him tomorrow before he left. Some separation anxiety is completely normal and expected. The staff will know how to deal with it. I'm sure he'll settle into the routine. As long as everyone round him exudes calm acceptance of the change, he will as well.

Good morning!

I fell asleep on the couch last night. At about 7:30. Grief.
Woke up at 3:30. Gonna be a long day.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good morning, apparently he didn’t stop eating all evening. I’m quite matter of fact with him. I’m not an anxious type. It’s a get on with it attitude from me so I’m not upset if he is. He’ll be fine I’m sure. I’m glad he’s going in the afternoons though. He gets a good meal before he goes and he likes to take his time over eating so it’s better than a rushed breakfast.

message 2045: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I was expecting you to say he fell asleep as soon as he got home. Wee poppets are usually exhausted for the first few weeks.

My kids have written some great stuff today. We're exploring persuasive writing and the kids have to convince the 'pest controller' to not move the troll from the three bills goats gruff away from his bridge. Written from the troll's point of view, of course.
I'm always amazed with how creative kids can be when given the proper amount of latitude.

Good morning all. As the new job hasn't started yet, I'm joining the Mem on her cookery course today. Wish me luck.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12594 comments Morning all, was woken up by neighbours car that sounds worse, then had hail battering the window. At least its too wet for any snow to stick.
