Nice word.

David Hadley I kept forgetting to say 'good morning' in the other thread, so what should I keep forgetting to say in this one?

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments David wrote: "I kept forgetting to say 'good morning' in the other thread, so what should I keep forgetting to say in this one?"

Custard.

Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious.

Lisa Marie Gabriel (lisamariegabriel) | 1066 comments I thought everyone had gone quiet but found you in the end. I seem to spend so much time in the potty disposing of litterbox parcels - as well as other more personal items - that I would quite enjoy a glitzy diamond encrusted lav and cistern. It would be a devil to clean though! We do have a chandelier and some art work in the bathroom - sort of "Louvre-Loo" I suppose.

Anyway, it is beautiful and sunny here today, I have some jasmine tea brewing and I am trying to build up the energy to do more woodwork. The writing shed has no electricity yet but is otherwise quite cosy and nice to sit and read in. It has plenty of light as it is North facing. I got cold feet yesterday, but I get cold feet in the house so no change there.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Had a shock when I got in the car to find it was only 1 degree, it didn't look that cold.

Fair enough.

Now all I have to do is remember to forget to say it.

Thank you.

You have just reminded me that when we were young my sister had a version of that 'sung' by The Chipmunks.

Jim | 21809 comments spent the first part of the afternoon re-raddling tups and swapping batches about, pleasant enough afternoon, not actually sunny but bright

Yes, I find the best thermometer for the Out is Babycat. She loves being outside watching birds, fish and frogs. This weather she rushes out into the sunshine, sits looking vaguely annoyed for a few minutes and then comes straight back in.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I've had the a/c on for most of the day.

Good news, seems they need me at school later this week.

Our oldest cat does exactly the same thing, yelling at the kitchen door this morning then pulling a face as soon as it's opened and the cold air comes in.

Our record player at the time could also do 78 rpm - that link sounds much like it.

The great advantage of playing my sister's 45s at 78 rpm meant they were over much faster.

That is also what threw me, Lucy happily went out more than once! Our spotlights in the car park were apparently broke this evening, rather interesting finding a black car in the pitch black

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments It's so good to see you all hard at work making Patti's new thread so pretty (ahem). I remember mastering that super etc, what a triumph to go faster and faster and have my parents stare at me with expressions that probably said I needed putting away somewhere.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I think it needs a few elephants.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments I've just read the last page of my author thread and the elephant you sent me had me laughing out loud - really. I've been away for over a month and been far, far too busy, and I've missed everyone. I don't take part much, but I do keep an eye on you all, especially the elephants.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments That elephant looks a bit tired, and twitchy!

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Hello. It's cold here too. I just about froze my tits off at McMini's football practise. Blimey it was cold. Luckily I had a really bad attack of the farts which did help keep my trousers warm. But it meant I couldn't talk to anyone. Ho hum ...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning!

It's going to be so dark for you lot when you wake up!

It's really nice that the clocks don't go back here, must say.

I need a flattering head and shoulders photo for...something...

Told Dave if I'm going to have to put on full makeup, he's gonna have to take me out somewhere nice.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Saw the pic on Facebook. Arrrrrrgh!!!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You love it.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Morning all, quiet day, then back to the eye hospital. Seems fine in the morning Patti, it went dark really early though. You do crack me up MT

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Morning - followed Jim's link and emnded up on the wrong page. Doesn't take much...

Raining so the outdoor work is deferred. I shall be mostly clearing out the freezer which now resembles an ice cave with crystalline walls. Want to collect some meat from the local farm on Friday so this will make a bit more room!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I've made carapulcra for dinner.

Google it.

And corn muffins.

And I just watched an episode of Criminal Minds with Tim Curry in it. Very Halloweenie!

You are referring to the pink and mauve elephant, of course?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It is rather a spiffy elephant, but we are talking about Patti's new profile picture.

We had one of those, but she retired at the end of my first year...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I have never had a pearl necklace.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments What's a good jewelry shop chain in the UK?
I only know Canadian ones.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments Ernest Jones and Goldsmiths are two reasonable middle range jewellers. If you want the tops, then there's Mappin & Webb and Asprey and many others. If you're coming here for Christmas, you could stroll down Bond Street and try not to faint.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Thanks Anna. I'll check those online.

I've always used De Beers in the past.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments De Beers? Those naughty hoarders of half of the diamonds they dig up? Hoarding so Patti has to pay twice as much... Grrr...

There again, I suppose there's a finite number of diamonds and some will be saved for future generations. Clever fellas.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Well, after dealing with stupid drivers, I made my hospital appointment, iritis is practically cleared, although she has given me another month of drops to reduce them slower, and a re-check in two months. She thinks the pain is sinusitis, so have just put a warm flannel on my face and will pop to the chemist after work tomorrow, hopefully they can save me seeing the doctor.
