It will! She broke her leg quite badly about 6 years ago and has continued to have problems with infections where she had a big frame screwed into it. The consultant in Hull is suggesting that opening the wound up and physically scraping it clean and reclosing it is going to sort it for good. I hope he's right.

I caught the end of the programme about the Queen last night, found a couple of bits sad, they were interviewing people who got married in the same year. One used all her clothing vouchers on her bridesmaid dresses, and had to buy a second hand dress, which she said she has regretted ever since, the other had an iced madeira cake, but said they were lucky, some people had to have a cardboard cake just to use for photos - now people spend tens of thousands on weddings!!

Once the infection has gone to the bone - sometimes radical surgery is really the only way to finally get rid - that and hefty doses of IV antibiotics.
My Granddaughter is going through the mill at the moment - our GP thinks she has a condition called Cauda Equina and this can very often result in surgery - so hopefully, she can get the MRI out of the way quickly to find out whether she has it or not. Delay of surgery with this condition can result in permanent incontinence - so really hoping that can be avoided..
Got bored this morning and played about with my kindle app, got a David Baldacci book for 49p, then got an offer of 3 months free Kindle Unlimited, and took it! This afternoon I had a colleague in a bad mood and internal politics to deal withGood luck for your granddaughter Flo
Kath, that sounds painful, good luck to your daughter-in-law. Hope you have a lovely time with your boys staying.Desley, sounds like you def had a better morning than the afternoon.
Don't like to be a moaner but .... the hotel doesn't have a kettle in the room. Can't wait for breakfast so I can have a cuppa (no milk. no sugar - just strong tea)
Thanks Desley.Having to wait until breakfast for a cuppa?? That's sheer cruelty - my addiction couldn't wait that long Kelly!!

Well, morning was boring and had to put up with my colleague huffing rather than ask for help.
Waiting for a cuppa isn't good!
No morning tea first thing?! - I'd never stay there again.Good luck to your DIL, Kath and to your granddaughter, Flo.

Morning all! No more lights of London for me today - back to the regular office.Congratulations to your friend, Patti!
Good morning. Blowing a hooligan here, piddling down as well. The wind blowing through a gap in the window mastic was making awful shrieking noises. That kept him and the dog awake, they both then kept me awake. I mentioned to my French neighbour that I’d lost my shoe in the mud that once was a lawn. She said she hadn’t seen mud for a year, she’d also been out walking wearing summer clothes. I’m in the wrong place.
Well done to your friend Patti. Fantastic acheivement. Mock practical exams today, hoping they're not too bad, real things on Monday.
A blog post that Patti might like, on about milk and deliveries and suchlike :-)https://jandbvwebster.wordpress.com/2...
Another grey, miserable day – I woke up at 6, decided to try and get to sleep again, then managed to oversleep as I hadn’t set the alarm, so had 20 mins to get ready and leave the house, so no drink or shower, and the cats only got fed, need to do litter trays when I get home. Poor Lucy couldn’t work out why she couldn’t go out this morning. Also went to sleep sniffling, and woke up with a cold, which is making my sinuses and ears hurt!! Ended up rushing around when I first got in, although I had to stop on our lane to avoid squashing a frog. !! I’ve tried a magazine through Kindle Unlimited already, ironically it was easier to read on my phone than the tablet, but I’m not converted to e-magazines. I have enough milk bottles for the fundraiser the vets are doing for us in December, now I just need to work out how to wrap them!!Congrats to your friend Patti, good luck with the exams Claire
Well - that teapot of English Breakfast went down extremely well this morning. (note to self: pack the travel kettle next time). Now sitting at the airport and have swapped the tea for a rose (can't do the sign thingmie above the "e"). Landing at Heathrow tonight and then zooming to Gatwick for the last flight back to Jersey.
I think, and hope, this will be my last trip before the year-end.

Let's hope, Kelly. Hope your onward flights are uneventful.Got a rather nice beef masala and an aloo gobi bubbling away.
Freezer rubble or leftovers tomorrow. I've been asked to cover a class of 5-6 year olds.
Forgot to say good morning. Grandson has lobbed everything from the coffee table on to the floor. EVERYTHING!

Cover them in freezerer rubble??
Kath wrote: "Forgot to say good morning. Grandson has lobbed everything from the coffee table on to the floor. EVERYTHING!"Children and small animals have a lot in common there - our cats love to do the table-top sweep.
Kath wrote: "Forgot to say good morning. Grandson has lobbed everything from the coffee table on to the floor. EVERYTHING!"The secret is to not keep anything more than your kindle and mug on the coffee table.
And put those up high when toddlers are in the room.
Judging by the soft moaning noises, Dave is enjoying my curry.
It’s still very windy here, daughter just phoned to say it was blowing the rain in through the closed windows there was so much rain and very strong winds. Just had a lovely photo of the baby. He’s got no tubes, he’s off the antibiotics and the painkillers, they are just waiting for some lab results on some biopsies. Unfortunately though his mum is back again on the ward as her wound is not healing still.
Good baby news, Lynne! I have been thinking of them both.I hope mum starts healing up quickly. Sounds like they need to stop pushing her off the ward before she's ready!
Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) wrote: "Afternoon all. West coast weather here today, hasn't stopped raining!"Temperature here has plummeted! 10C!
Was 20C this afternoon.
Don't recall a warmer November here.
Well, it's been that grey here we haven't seen daylight! So pleased baby is doing well Lynne, fingers crossed for mum now.
Delighted the baby is doing well, but with his mother not getting healed, the stress on both - and families - must still be large.Had been wondering, Lynne. Thanks for the update.
Good morning all. What a wild and windy night! And the weather was extreme too.Everyone have a good one.
Glad baby's doing well, fingers crossed for Mum. Mocks went ok I think, will find out tomorrow, still going to head in and do a bit of practice if I can though today, may not stay too long if there's loads of people there though.
Morning all, too much to reply to! Lynn good news on the nipper, Kath, ouch on both counts! Patti, well done your mate, Kelly, hope the trip is smooth!A friend volunteered me to do some press work for the Alzheimer's society, talking about my dad. It sounds as if it might be interesting. Lovely chap has been talking to me on email so we're going to have a proper chat by phone on Monday.
Morning all, my phone said there is a flood warning, but today is the first day we've had no rain and daylight, its really cold though- it was wet and windy when I went to bed. Possibly a busy day, still full of a cold. That sounds interesting MT. Glad you think your mocks went well Claire.

There was at one point a one hour training session, which I've been through twice with various groups. It's very good at giving you an understanding of what is happening. The Alzheimer's society is only mentioning a video which might be good but isn't as good. A lot of the churches are doing the one hour training, and spreading it out through congregations and communities and I was told last year that the society is delighted to turn up to give the talk/training session to any group
