JUST BECAUSE

It would appear this thread isn't getting used as much as it did last year.

I noticed that this thread wasn't getting much use this year. I'm not sure why. Maybe people are just planning less?

I've noticed a few people are using their thread in the YLTO Member Zone to list their monthly plans.
It's strange because I never used to plan at all. I'd finish one book and start another at whim. But now, I have challenges, group reads, personal goals, etc and I need a list to tell me what to read next.

I have a document on my laptop that tells me what I need to read for challenges, group reads, etc. I tend to switch books around a bit, but it's nice to see what my thoughts were and how far I got.

I think you picked a good one for your monthly challenge book! It gave me shivers reading the summary.

Yeah, I think he will be hard to beat in a one on one match!

If I dare it's going to be:
Worm by Wildbow.
Why only one single book?
It's got (view spoiler) pages :)
I'm even considering putting it up as a buddy read, but I'm afraid it's too long for anybody to actually join in..

Phew! That's a commitment.

Yeah, I often get side tracked as well.

I'm not sure how many I will get through, lol.

You and Almeta are in a league of your own with the long lists. Heheheeh!

Surprisingly it is! I let the size of it intimidate me, and just kept putting it off. Now's the time.☺

.....You and Almeta are in a league of your own with the long lists. Heheheeh!
lol! If you notice, a lot are a spill over from April!
In addition most of those CALDECOTT AWARD WINNING CONNECTIONS Challenge books are VERY small illustrated children's books (40 pages on average). The challenge is to read those and then match up an adult book with them in some way (by subject, or word in the title, matching author's name, etc.) So read fifty Caldecott winners and then fifty adult books. Consequently, I have upped my 2017 Reading Challenge count by 50 books in order to keep the challenge, by pages, closer to my previous year's goals of 200 books per year.
So the list is not as impressive as it looks. AND I'm not as impressive as I think ! *grin*

You and Almeta are in a league of your own with the long lists. Heheheeh!"
I will most likely have spillover into June. 21 books of average size is a lot even for me.
But that won't stop me from buying/ordering more. It's a sickness, lol.

Surprisingly it is! I let the size of it intimidate me, and just kept putting it off...."
I loved it. I hope you enjoy it too.

That's a cool challenge! I wonder if I could twist it up somehow for a YLTO challenge. *putting thinking cap on*

You should try!☺ We so often miss the small books because of our challenges. These take no effort and some of the illustrations are fabulous. A lot of the winners also tell a story of some other culture. I plan to read all that have been listed, even though I only have to do 50 of them. (Won't be doing 50 matching adult ones though.☻)

I guess it's time to start thinking about what I want to read in February. I've used my 2 rationed credits at Audible this morning and bought three books. One of them is for my survey challenge, so maybe I'll read it in Feb. Once I finish work tonight, I'll do some planning.
