What Are You Reading? - 2017.1

I got to be the good one instead of the bad one, for once!

I started The Night Tourist - for the Nov monthly challenge
I started Vampires in the Lemon Grove - for one of the Nov group reads.
I am a-l-m-o-s-t done with I, Claudius: from the Autobiography of Tiberius Claudius - for my Yearly Challenge
I am enjoying Deafening - for my Yearly Challenge

Hopefully to finish the Yearly Challenge. :o) The Night Tourist was a waste of my two days. Hopefully, No Place Like Oz will be better. If not, I have three more books lined up, but they may have to wait. And, I added Sarah's book to my TBR list.

I'll start Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances for the themed read tonight.

I started The Empty Box and Zeroth Maria, Vol. 1 today and will start The Shell Collector in one week or so for the group read.

I am definitely enjoying The Atlantis Gene. The Night Tourist was YA meh but some of the ghosts were interesting.
Oh, and I started listening to The Silent Corner. The narrator is Elizabeth Rodgers.

Next up is The Dispatcher for the monthly challenge.

I also finished The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman today and I started The Child Finder by Rene Denfeld.

Next up in another Scalzi book, Lock In. When I purchased the audiobook, I got the edition narrated by Amber Benson. Since then, I've realized that I generally prefer male narrators, and I've really enjoyed Will Wheaton's performance in a couple of recent books. It will be interesting how I react to Amber Benson.

I was at friends' last weekend, they live in the area where Three Pines would be. I always feel like going driving and getting lost when I am around there... just in case,.,..

That's encouraging! I went to my sewing group today and didn't get a chance to get started.

This is the version we've been looking for, as Lexx hates Wil Wheaton and loves Amber Benson as Tara in Buffy. Glad you enjoyed that version Travis, and looking forward to hear what you think Janice.
I also have discovered Amber Benson writes urban fantasy herself now. Death's Daughter. We bought number 4 in the series at our book dealers the last time we were there for the novelty value.

I'll check out Death's Daughter. Thanks, Rusalka.

Also reading Witches of Lychford on my kindle for the monthly challenge.

I am now starting Green Darkness because I am really in the mood for another Anya Seton book.

That's been sitting on my TBR pile for a while Peggy. I will be interested in your response to it.

I started Mao's Last Dancer today. It will fit into the Survey Challenge.

Oh...I'm curious to see what you think of Mao's Last Dancer. I listened to it last year on a road trip with my husband. Neither of us cared for it, but everyone else seems to love it.

Would be cool if you could add the details of the book you read to the post so people only have to click through to the review if they're interested. Thanks.

I've started Blood Work instead.

Sorry it didn't work for you. I felt it was a bit challenging to get through.

I just started The Forever Summer, also for the yearly challenge. So far, it's pretty good.
I'm also listening to Tiger's Curse for the yearly challenge. It feels younger than I was expecting, but I'm enjoying it well enough.
