I'd think that with the tracker, it's not really necessary, but other people may use it?

What's the tracker?
As far as the usefulness of the info in the group description, since it's most often wrong it's not very helpful. (No offense intended!)
The tracker is where you can connect a shelf to track your progress in the challenge. You just put in the number of books you want to read, add the shelf you want, and it marks your progress. It's below the description and above the discussion board on the browser version of Goodreads (I'm not sure if it shows on the app).

Oh, of course! I just don't see that as a way of knowing the current week of the challenge. Like, mine just says "You have read 19 books toward your goal of 50 books."
I guess for me, just knowing I’m ahead or behind is enough? Plus I track it on my personal spreadsheet as well. But I’m just one person so if other people use it more frequently, then I can see how it would be useful for them.
Typically the group description at least matches. I often forget to update it until a few days into the new week. So it would be the correct week, just a week behind.
So you could at least look and say "It's past the 1st, must be week 14" since it would have said Current Week: #13 (Tuesday March 26 to Monday April 1)
This week I was just extra bad with it haha. I'll blame the BOTM and group map :)

Alternatively, I could add that to the group list and have a link in the description that takes you there. So you would have to click and you could see all dates.
I would likely add it to this topic: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Jen, you may want to start a thread for the book in the alphabet folders... other people who read the book can look there and maybe give you some help! (I haven't read it, sorry!)

Thanks for the suggestion. I just read the last 2/3 tonight and it got me big time so I put it in 39.

It made me sad, angry, happy actually angry was an understatement.....furious. Glad she was fictional.

Do I also need to add them to the A-Z folders...or ask for them to be added?
Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks!
Julie, I've added updated the spreadsheet to track your progress! Go ahead and add the books that you've read.
For the A-Z folders, you can search for the book to see if it already has a thread, and if it doesn't, you can go ahead and start your own. Just make sure you put the title and author in the subject line of the thread, and tag the book so you can see everyone's ratings.
You can also go to the weekly threads and add your books to those, if you want more discussion! I personally like the weekly threads because it gives me great ideas for books to read for each prompt.

Thank you!

We create the list as a group every year. So the "polarizing" topics are those that were liked by a lot of member but also disliked by a lot. The "close call" prompts are those that were close to winning.
You can find a list of the prompts here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
You just pick one prompt for week 21.

The posting at the top of the group page says, "Current Week: #17 (Tuesday April 30 to Monday May 6)."
That actually should've been Week 18. And starting today (May 7) it's Week 19.
I thought I was doing better with it :/
I went ahead and created a link to an actual site that will just display the current week. Hopefully that isn't too annoying for people. But at least it will be accurate 🤦🏻♀️

It was announced in the newsletter :)
The next one will be in June.
Our first #24B4Monday event will kick-off tomorrow!

The newsletter should be sent automatically to everyone in the group. We’ve only sent one so far, on 1 May, so if you received that then you’re definitely signed up to receive the newsletter in future.
The announcements will still be posted in the group, in the same way they always have been.
We’re just hoping the newsletters will give more of a long-term outlook since the announcements typically happen right as an activity starts.

I love the newsletter! And I appreciate y'all putting the group spreadsheet in there... it definitely reminded people to update their entries!

Hrm nothing in my spam. It might be because I have a lot of the Goodreads emails turned off. Do you know which email setting I need enabled to get the newsletter?

Yes, we can copy-paste contents in the announcements.
You will miss out on my graphic skills though 😉

Awww, I am a bit of weirdo magnet (online and irl) so I'm really hesitant to change my settings. You wouldn't believe how many people mistake Goodreads for a dating site...
But thanks!

Is this what you're looking for? It's housed under Projects.
Also, just in case you're trying to find something else in the future, on the group home page on the right side, just above the list of mods, you'll see a search bar that will search just the discussions in this group.

I am not a moderator, but I am a GR librarian. I can add the audiobook you´re listening to - just provide the ISBN and I´ll take it from there.
Is the Read-A-Thon for sure starting on Friday? And, if so, will we get to see the game/prompts ahead of time? I know in the last Read-A-Thon, some members expressed wanted to see the game rules a day or two in advance to plan for it, so I was just curious.
Yes, based on the results of the poll, it will be starting on the 7th. We can shoot for having the info for the main games posted on Wednesday (likely EST).

Ann, I just checked and I can still see your post. Could you try this link and let me know if you can see it?

I'm copying and pasting what I see. Is this not correct?

If you can follow this link and edit your post then it will stay as post 12 in the thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
It was still showing up as #12 for me so should be good there :)
You may want to save your edits now and then just to be safe. Then just edit more if needed. So then you're only losing bits instead of a full edit.

We definitely trust that people will only use the ones that they earn. You can feel free to post applicable ones from the badge topic (directions in the post). It's just something fun so we don't plan to monitor it too much.

Can you explain where the column headers are located? :
Now you can sort and play along! Click on any of the column headers (like num pages or date pub, for example) to sort your list in ascending or descending order for that particular header.
This is what I see: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Now you know why I wouldn't make a good team leader :)
