What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book) - Part 2

Film yes, book no:(
Aaron Cross is in the Bourne Legacy movie but I don't think that is his name in the books.

They were planning a crossover film that features both Bourne and Aaron Cross but I don't think that's happening anymore.
Thanks Phrynne, I knew you would know.dedication at the start of The Chemist is to Jason Bourne/Aaron Cross, and I knew who Jason Bourne was, seen a few of the movies and, from the start of the book it's easy to see why the dedication, but had no clue about Aaron Cross.
should have just googled him, now I see the pics, yes the character in the film is Agent Aaron Cross
I'm reading Invisible, but I think I'm a bit over psychotic serial killers.....I started to wonder if there are a lot more serial killers in fiction than in real life.
Marianne wrote: "I started to wonder if there are a lot more serial killers in fiction than in real life."I'm not sure how you would count how many serial killers there are in fiction compared with people who aren't serial killers (that would be an awful lot of work, and frankly, who could be bothered? I'd rather just read without all that effort of counting!), but I would like to hope that the serial killers in real life are well and truly in the minority compared with those of us who aren't serial killers in real life! Or is that being naïve...?
Just finished
by Nevil ShuteSet in Australia, the forerunner of the dystopian/sci-fi general class of story was written by a naturalised Brit. When I first read it I feel I wanted to like it more than I did, but that was years ago, this time I loved it. There is a review...

Hi I am currently reading the Supernatural Prison series by Jaymin Eve and let me say after just finishing the Walker Saga by her she does not disappoint, absolutely brilliant author! :)

Here's the author - Jaymin Eve - there are several books in the series Sami? Good you're enjoying them :)

Yesterday, I made the mistake of picking up Maestra by L.S. Hilton; a load of junk which included what seems to be the obligatory bit of lesbian sex within first twenty-five pages.

I just had a quick look at the reviews, and they're very mixed. The premise seems good, but apparently the rest of the book isn't, according to the majority.
Leonie, no, I did not finish it, although to be fair, I did not give it a really good go. I'm no prude and graphic sex doesn't bother me but it seems to me that lesbian sex/gay sex has been overdone in novels since the LGBT issues. I see that our Michael read and rated it as a 4 star book. Maybe I'll try it again one day, reading the book that is, not lesbian sex. lol:)
Just finished Me before You https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... . Refreshingly different, very emotional, loved it.

Hahahaha! Your last sentence cracked me up Bette!

If you haven't seen the movie yet then do. It is fairly true to the book and VERY emotional. I watched it on a plane which was quite embarrassing as I cried - a lot!

I'm loving it so far, thanks for the recommendation.
Still going on one from a previous challenge ;
by Carl SafinaIt is a fascinating, well researched, informative well written book. Because there is so much in it it is not a fast read for me. Because the plight of the oceans in general and marine turtles in particular is so dire I am progressing slowly.
I've just read The Vampire's Dinner (an Xmas novella by an Aussie urban fantasy author) and I'm reading Nightfall (YA fantasy/thriller). I have one book left to complete my goodreads challenge...and no idea what I feel like reading

Sadly i am yet to learn how to knit and read at the same time so my reading has suffered while i try make some chrissy prezzies :(. still on A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, 1914 to 1918 with a few quick reads spattered in the middle of it. very glad i'm taking it slow, but nearing the end! actually now interested in reading a quality book on more the gallipoli campaign in particular, so hopefully that will come up later.
I'm reading The Mothers by Brit Bennett, I thought it would be a quick easy read but its giving me a lot to think about and I'm really enjoying it

Mind you, having said that - I am learning as well - and it is a case of me counting out loud how many stitches I have done, and what the pattern says - drives hubby mad :)
I like ironing while I am listening to a book, and walking, but not much else. I find my mind wanders off the book and I realise I have missed a whole chunk!
Me too Phrynne. I struggle to concentrate on an audiobook while walking to work in the morning. I would have no chance doing anything involving fine motor skills.
Sally, I'm a 'whisper out loud' while knitting kinda person so audiobooks and knitting is out of the question for me.

Yea, I see how that might be a problem, Sally!
I haven't been getting very far in my audio books lately since I haven't been driving much. I have, however, tried to listen at night before bed. Good thing Audible has a SLEEP TIMER! I haven't made it past the first 15" !
I've just finished reading a high action thriller/adventure titled "Brannans Run"Brannan's Run. Its a must read for fans of fast=paced tropical tales with a modern pulp feel. Twists and turns and a cliffhanger ending!!

I've owned that one for over 2 years Bette! I'll be interested in your thoughts :)

Just started Infernal Devices, by K.W. Jeter - the author who coined the term 'steampunk' back in 1987.Bit of post-Boxing Day trivia for you.

Was hoping for a sequel to The Host from Stephenie Meyer but this is excellent consolation...
