Janice - We have a buddy read planned for mid-January for Reliquary. Link is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Christina wrote: "I went ahead and setup a thread for Murder of Crows. We have agreed to January... lol :)"I've added it to the Buddy Read Calendar and will adjust the date once you've determined one.

January 4th :)
I plan to read the The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafón in 2021. I plan to reread the first one in January and then keep going with the series one book each month. This would be the plan:January -> The Shadow of the Wind
February -> The Angel's Game
March -> The Prisoner of Heaven
April -> The Labyrinth of the Spirits
Let me know if you are interested. I can always make changes in the plan if necessary.
FYI: "Wind in the title" (book 1) and "books on the cover" (book 4) are tasks in the Museums 2021 Challenge. They are all chunksters (another task). They might fit more tasks, I just haven't done any serious gophering yet.
There's also a task for book set in Spain.I might join for the last book (I read the others already), but I'll have to see if I'm in the mood for it. I'll keep an eye out for the thread and decide then.
Peggy, I will make a note that you might be interested in #4. If there is no buddy read I will let you know when I'm starting, so you can decide, without compromise, if you are interested in joining me.
I might join in number 4 too when you get there.I read number 2 first on a suggestion from a friend and ended up liking it the best but that seems to be the minority position. I thought the tone in number 2 was different from the others too. Hopefully you get some buddies for the first 3 so I can be refreshed from your comments ;)
It's been a long time for me too. I read them in order and I read book 3 in 2015. I hope that's not a problem for understanding book 4.
I'm hoping to read the first one this year, but I don't know when. For anyone looking for a spot for it in the yearly challenge, it also fits for museum 33: Read a book that was originally published in Spanish and translated to English.
I can put off my read until April to join for the last book, Sandra. I have already read the first three books. I have the last book under museum 23, for set in Spain.
Janice ok'd it for museum 25 books on the cover.
Sandra wrote: "I plan to read the The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafón in 2021. I have barely started to I can restart with you in March. my only concern is that i am a really slow reader in spanish so i am not sure if i can keep up.
That series looks very interesting. I may play catchup and hopefully join you in Feburary. I already have two buddy reads in January... and I am expecting a third for Realm of the Elderlings.
@Esther, don't worry. I'll let you know when I'm in book 3. It's ok if you need more time and book 4 gets delayed. We can start it later if you need more time. Do not stress.
@Christina, sounds good. I will probably start number 1 closer to the the end of January than the beginning. Still, think about it. If you are really interested I will wait for you until February. That plan is just a starting point.
Great. When I'm ready to start I will double check with you. If you need more time we can agree in a convenient starting date.
Christina wrote: "That series looks very interesting. I may play catchup and hopefully join you in Feburary. We have always done 1 book every 2 months, only now with The Rain Wilds book 4 we only had 1 month in between to finish this series in 2020 and also because the books are only half the size of all the other subseries. It's very likely that we will do the next buddy read in February, and in any case, we always check what's convenient for everyone who wants to join :)
Yeah... I knew about the every other month, but I figured it would during the non Toppler month.. (Assuming.. you know what that gets you :) )
Christina, you might have more problems following the Fools Errand books than you did the Rainwilds series. There is a massive back story to Fitz and the Fool. On the other hand all of her trilogies form a complete miniseries so it may be fun to read them out of order, I'm not sure :-/
I created a thread for The Shadow of the Wind so any further discussion about dates and the sort won't clutter this thread.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Current January buddy read schedule: Jan 4 - Murder of Crows, The Others Book 2
Mid-Jan 2021 - Reliquary, Pendergast 2
after Jan 25 - City of Brass
and The Shadow of the Wind TBD

It helps to read all the comments before replying.

I'll update the calendar right away to add The Shadow of the Wind.

Peggy wrote: "Sandra wrote: "I plan to read the The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafón in 2021. I plan to reread the first one in January and then keep going with the series one..."Thanks Peggy, I went ahead and picked it up on Kindle for that Price. Awesome!

Hi Suzy! Welcome to YLTO. Are you wanting to read the entire series as a buddy read? We've done that with some series. I'm just clarifying for those who might be interested.
Suzy wrote: "Would anyone like to buddy read The Infernal Devices, Harry Potter or Percy Jackson?"I just finished Clockwork Angel yesterday (loved it!) but I'd love to buddy read the next two.
I’ve read Clockwork Angel before, so good isn’t it! I’d happily buddy read the other two but wouldn’t want to slow you down reading the next two! I’m currently reading another series at the same time so might take me a few days to get the first one ready!
Whenever you’re ready I can get them from the library. I’d also read the Percy Jackson series with you but I think I’m on book 4. If you want to read one of his other series in that universe when you’re done with what you’re reading and I’m done with Percy Jackson that would be awesome!
I just created the thread for the 2nd book of the The Daevabad Trilogy. We should start sometime in March,
