message 305: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments Here's the link for your book Minerva. Tell No One

It sounds really good. There's a waitlist at the library for it so wouldn't be able to read it until December.

That's fine by me. I'm currently busy with The Hitchhiker's Guide o the Galaxy and in no time it'll be December ;-) let me know when you are ready and we'll dive into Tell no one

Margo | 11628 comments MinervaMG wrote: "Anyone interested in reading "Tell no one" by Harlan Coben??"

That gets good ratings on GR but unfortunately my library doesn't have it.

Is there an online library or are you referring to an "ordinary" library?

My "ordinary" library doesn't have the book. I'm a little surprised as they have a lot of his work.

I will join you, Minerva and Janice.

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I've put up the discussion thread for Tell No One and added it to the Buddy Read Calendar.

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments Margo wrote: "That gets good ratings on GR but unfortunately my library doesn't have it."

Margo, I can see you read it and rated 3 stars. Maybe it has a different title in Europe???

There are also other books with the same title, maybe you got confused.

message 314: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments You're right Sandra, according to goodreads I did read and rate it back in 2015! I think I must have clicked on the wrong book because that synopsis means nothing to me. Either way, I'm going to remove it from my GR list because if I can't remember it I might as well read it again LOL

message 315: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments Lol, you can join us then. ;)

You can remember that far back? There are books that I've read more recently than 2015 and I've given a review, yet have no memory of the book. I'm beginning to worry about myself. LOL!

There are books that end up on my "read" shelf that I know I haven't read. I think I've either hit "to read" instead of "wishlist".

message 317: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments Now Janice, you know me better than that - I have trouble remembering what I read 4 weeks ago never mind 4 years LOL I am more going on the fact that I don't own it and the library doesn't carry that author. My mum is a big Coban fan so we have most of his stuff.

message 318: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments Is anyone interested in reading The Ten Thousand Doors of January sometime next year? I saw a review of it on youtube and I'm desperately searching for an excuse to buy it 😁

message 319: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Me!

I added it to my wishlist after seeing it as GR awars nominee. It's still a bit expensive here though, so hopefully the price will drop a little in the next month. But I'll probably join anyway ;-)

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments Margo wrote: "Is anyone interested in reading The Ten Thousand Doors of January sometime next year? I"

I'.m in. There is a 6 weeks wait for the ebook at my library. It`s on hold and suspended. So I should be able to get a cop when needed next year..

message 321: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments Esther, that's great!

Peggy, I hope the price comes down. I can't find any into on the pb release date. Do you do ebooks? The kindle uk version is less than £7.

message 322: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I'll join you. I have it on my Goodreads wishlist and on Audible's. When are you wanting to read this because we've got Fool's Errand starting in January and The Confession with no specified date.

I also found the ebook for €7.50, which is not a lot of money. But for something that I have only electronically and basically never look at again, I have this unwritten rule that it should be below €4. If not, I'd rather by the paper version, especially when I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the book a lot.

message 325: by Margo (last edited Nov 13, 2019 09:04AM) (new)

Margo | 11628 comments Me too Peggy! The hardback at £11 is probably better value.

Seems we have a nice little group! As we have Fool's Errand scheduled for mid January how about early January? Something to look forward to after xmas….

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments i just realised hat my library has a copy of The Inheritance Trilogy by N. K. Jemisin. Anyone interested? I would suggest reading one book ever other month or so as we did for the Broken Earth series. Starting maybe February or March?

message 330: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments Dom, Cherie and I are reading Mistress of the Art of Death starting (around) January 15th for those interested. We plan on reading the entire series this year. We found a spot for it on Card 22, 5 Nay task.

Dom and I recently read this a few months ago. After you read it we could talk about it. If you wanted, you could start a thread and put comments in spoilers and we can read and comment back too.

message 334: by mars (new)

mars (marsandphun) Alright, will do, soon. I'm still very early on in it, so it might be a while

Which category on Card 22 are you using it for? Science?

Mars, I'd love to read with you. Have you already started? I am good to start immediately if Janice could put it into the calander.

I'll set up a separate thread in the Buddy Reads folders where we can discuss it as we read 😊

Edit: Sorry Mars, I f9rgot that I have buddy read set for 1st jan. I would still love to read The Silent Patient but I can't start till 5/6 jan. Is that any good to you?

message 338: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Jannene wrote: "Yep, theme is medical."

Good to know! I did not have my heart set on the two titles I had picked out for that task anyway. Just been on my TBR for a long time. I will get to them one day. ;o)

message 339: by mars (new)

mars (marsandphun) Margo wrote: "but I can't start till 5/6 jan. Is that any good to you"

Yeah sure no prob. I don't really have any schedules anyways so, yeah, I'm good with any early date essentially

message 340: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments Janice, please could you put The Silent Patient into the calender for 6th jan and I will set up a thread.

Mars, as soon as I finish my other book I'll be able to start. This one was highly recommended to me so I'm looking forward to it.

message 341: by Sarah (new)
