Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Great, let us know when we will move on, I'll start soon a suitable book for the next stop, so I'd like to know: do we have to consider the original language title or the title in the translation we will read?

Hmm, I would say the version you are reading is what counts.
So if you are reading translated version - count the letters in translated title and if you are reading original version - count the letters in original title.

Yes :)
Lets keep that in mind!
It turns out we can use all the read books (which have not being used for this trip stops and are started after 3.Feb) also in our next trip around the world in Business Class.
Someone asked it and the answer is here in the airport lounge (message 91).

Any time now we get the trip-plan for the next round and start planning again and voting again :D
As I understand we are all on board and dont need to go look for hitchhikers. FANTASTIC! :)

Yep! All good Shy and Jackie :)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Hi all! I see that our Business class itinerary has been added to our spreadsheet. What are we doing for our first stop - task or detour? (We get 6 detours in Business class)

Our first destination is Myrtle Beach (USA)

message 260: by Dima (new)

Dima | 129 comments I vote for a detour for the first stop! that sounds like fun :)

message 261: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Business class 1.st stop:
Detour: Read a book that is in the "Best Crime & Mystery Books" Listopia List (https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...)
Task: Baltra Island (Ecuador?)

Yeah... I'm definitely with Angie and Dima. Detour sounds much more easier and I loooove mysteries!!! :)

Our new itinerary can be found HERE!

message 262: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Voting is OPEN! ---> here please!

If you have few minutes to spare then please choose your preferences: 6 detours and 2 tasks!
Remember - we can use all read books started from 3.Feb which have not been used in economy class.
So maybe you have already fulfilled some of the stops assignments ;)

message 263: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly PS! I changed the spreadsheet (if you all don't mind).
On separate sheets are:
- Business Itinerary overview;
- voting (business);
- Economy class points (overview);
- All completed economy stops (read books and points);
- 1.Baltra Island (EC) - books registration sheet.

Yeah - I LOVE tables and graphics, LOL

But better go and check for yourself: here !

message 264: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly PPS! Martina - how are you doing with our last stop in economy class (Easter Island (Easter Island) - book with a title between 16 and 25 characters) ?

You can read any book really and we still get the max points! :)

I'm a little confused....isn't Myrtle Beach our first stop?

For our first round in Economy class the itinerary was "Easter Island (CL) - Colorado Springs (US)" and our first stop was Colorado Springs.

So, since our itinerary for our first round in Business class is "Baltra Island (EC) - Myrtle Beach (US)", isn't Myrtle Beach our first stop?

message 266: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Yes Angie - you are totally right!!!

I'm so sorry for mixing things up.
This changes everything... heheheee...

Off to "repair" the spreadsheet...

message 267: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly All fixed!

Once more - I'm truly so sorry!!! Thank you Angie!! :)
This may also change the way we voted because of the tasks (settings).
So if you don't mind looking at your votes and correct your decisions if needed.

PS! Remember you should decide "task" twice and "detour" 6 times (if we aim the max points).

CHECK YOUR VOTE

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments Im listening to Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn for Baltra Island. Its # 23 on the listopia.

Because of my "total failure" Shy you are listening it for the USA Myrtle Beach (doesn't change anything for the detour though) :)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments Ok thanks Elinaly to be honest I didnt even look at the location I just went with the detour that was at hand.

Don't apologize! It was not a big deal - everything just shifted a spot! ;)

message 272: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Yeah, I feel so bad because of the voting (we all have to check our votes once more), but I'll get over it :)

message 273: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Please don't feel bad!!!!

message 274: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 2143 comments Checked my vote, Elinaly. Thanks for all the work you do to manage the spreadsheets and our stops!

message 275: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments thank you Elinaky, and really don't worry about the little mistake, I would never be able to organize so well! For our last stop I've changed my mind and I'm reading an italian author, so no orobkem for the title. I was just a little busy with things and did not find time to upload everything, sorry everyone :( now I'll go see all of our next stops and things :)

message 276: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Oh, next one, LOL - I don't know what to think of that Travel Agent's post: here.

I would say everyone can decide for themselves if they want to use only books started after we start our trip in business class or also use books reading during "economy class" trip.

Or do we have to decide as group one way or another?
What you all think about it?

message 277: by Helen (last edited Mar 24, 2016 10:31PM) (new)

Helen Bassett (hbee741) I am always reading something so I do not mind if we begin with books we did not use before but I am willing to go with the group.

message 278: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 2143 comments Either way is okay with me.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments I would love to be able to use the books we haven't used yet.

message 280: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Me too, also because maybe some of the "old ones" can fit new stops and I don't really know how many books I'll be able to find :)

message 281: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments I am good with whatever everyone else wants to do.

I did think that anything we read after this thread was started - Feb 3 - counted on any trip (only once, but it didn't matter when it was read).

message 282: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly I'm with you all!
Let's count all books which were started after 3 Feb since we are not stopping for even one cup of coffee after economy class... lol!
(we can count every book once!)

message 283: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Dear teamies!
We have finished our trip around the World in Economy Class!
Awesome teamwork everyone!!!

Seems like we have some time for cup of coffee before starting the next 8 weeks after all :)

So let's relax, I'll send the message to Travel Agent and be in airport on 30th March when our flight to Myrtle Beach (US) takes off!!!

coffee

message 284: by Dima (new)

Dima | 129 comments I am a bit confused about the second stop/detour ... what do we have to do?

message 285: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Yeah, this was at first a bit confusing to me also, Dima.
I´ll post step-by-step guide :)
But, Angie, please correct me asap if I got something wrong, LOL

message 286: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Second stop detour:

First choose a book you want to read, go to the book´s page and on the right click under genres See top shelves…:
I chose Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
1st

Then on the first page you look if someone has shelved it by tag "2013", "read-in-2013", etc:
1st

As you can see Rebecca qualifies! :)

Sry about the quality of pics, I hope you get the point! :)

You can try this with any book you want to read or I have searched out some link -> maybe you can find a book from those lists:
https://www.goodreads.com/genres/2013
https://www.goodreads.com/genres/read...
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...

message 287: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Message to the Travel Agent sent -> check the LEADER BOARD after it will be updated! ;)

We have collected maximum points - altogether 355 points!!!
Hugs to you all - you have been amazing!

message 288: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Next flight (business class):
on 30th March to Myrtle Beach (USA)!

flight1

Anyone of you feels like (almost) home? :D

message 289: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Great, I'm ready for all these new great adventures :)
And about my last book and the next, I'm starting to read italian authors finally, after some years, just when I'm moving to Japan XD Looks like you really realize what you've got when you miss it :)
Anyway, decided my next book I'm ready for this double travel, thank you everyone! :)

So true, Martina! :)
One of my acquaintances moved to USA and only after that started to read lots of Estonian books - maybe its also attempt not to loose the connection with your homeland.

message 292: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 2143 comments I'm in North Carolina so Myrtle Beach feels like home to me!

Reading Dead Beat (The Dresden Files, #7) by Jim Butcher , #445 on Best Crime & Mystery Books list.

message 293: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Everyone, please find a minute to tell us your opinion - which detour would be easier for you:
- Read a book with a String instrument on the cover or in the title (Iceland)
OR
- Read a book with the phrase "Last straw" in a book (Equador).

One has to be done as detour and another as task:
- ICELAND Reykjavik
OR
- EQUADOR Baltra Island.

message 294: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly I would prefer:

detour - Read a book with the phrase "Last straw" in a book (Equador),
task - ICELAND Reykjavik

But I´m with what the majority decides :)

message 295: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 2143 comments I'm good with that also. Found books to fit:
detour - "last straw"
task - set in Iceland

But will go with majority, of course.

message 296: by Dima (new)

Dima | 129 comments I will read The 5th Wave on was shelved 2013.

message 297: by Elinaly (last edited Mar 30, 2016 12:51AM) (new)
