Helen Bassett (hbee741) I just finished reading an early ARC release of Alliance of Equals by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. I added Lee for the L in Iceland. Is that ok? For N in Finland, A Noble Masquerade by Kristi Ann Hunter??

Sounds pretty interesting, even though it is a self published book(I don't know how to value them actually, by the way, so I'd love to read all of your opinion). I could try it!
As for Divergent, so far I'm having the same opinion as the movie, as you thought, Elinaly :)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Also I need to find a book for our the remaining letters!
Edit: I'm already reading one! Lucky me :)

Yep! All good, Helen!

Elinaly We are almost ready to depart! :)

Martina - how are you doing?
As soon as you finish Divergent I can send PM to the Travel Agent and we can catch our flight to the next stop!
If you could finish latest tomorrow we would be on track! :)

message 357: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments Finished this morning! Right now I'm uploading the spreadsheet :)
It was...I'm not sure, but I wouldn't give it more than 2 stars. As I love Hunger Games and dystopia it really bothered me that it could be a great idea but it was quite naif and not so well explained...maybe it's just that I'm too old now, maybe 10 years ago I would have loved it, don't know. Anyway it wasn't so bad either, so maybe I'll give it three stars in the end

Yep, I agree with you. I'm hoping maybe the 2nd book in series is better (I purposely didn't watch the movie before reading the book this time). But (sigh), Four is such a cutie... ;) (I mean the actor in movie)

Dima | 129 comments Elinaly,
can you check if my Russia book is ok? I had to review some Java for an interview so I read a non-fiction book "Java: How to program" It has a colon in the title but will it be ok to use here? Or should I look for another book? I need to know ahead of time so I can start looking if the book I finished already is not acceptable.

message 364: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly I think it's perfect for Russia, Dima!
Cough... I noticed the page amount... 1568 pages, oh wow!
Go for it! :)

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) | 334 comments I can go with A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas that I already read for C.

I'm studying that programming book, Elinaly. It took me a few days to finish it for the first time. Then I had to re-read it a few times since :)

ABSOLUTELY YES(for the actor)! I've already seen the second movie but I guess I'll end all the serie(I hate leaving series unfinished) and watch the third afterward :)
Let's get down to the Reykjavik book...how I wish we were really in Iceland! **

Helen Bassett (hbee741) I completed my book for Russia, Sir William Cecil: Elizabeth's First Chief Minister.

I am starting Cat Trick for the next stop.

message 372: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly I changed my book for the current stop since I found more than one pet in "Rebecca" (Uhhh, lucky me - this pets detour was another headache for me, lol).

That detour is proving troublesome for me as well!!! Anyone have any recommendations for a book with more than one pet? :)

Edited to add - I have decided upon Desperate Housedogs (Pampered Pets Mystery #1) by Sparkle Abbey

message 375: by Helen (new)

Helen Bassett (hbee741) I have completed Cat Tricks. I am going to start the book for Australia, Washington Square by Henry James. Has umbrellas on cover.

How it fits: spell-it-out ICELAND -> "D" - series name is Divergent.

Elinaly We are ready to take off to the next stop as soon as Martina reports her book :)

message 378: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments I'm sorry I'm arriving late and disappearing, lately! I'm always having crazy days and it's hard to find time for everything, including uploading things. I think I will finish tomorrow the book for Iceland, but I'm finding it difficult to find one for Finland! :(

message 379: by Helen (new)

Helen Bassett (hbee741) I have finished the book, Washington Square for Australia.
I was rather disappointed. The story was very slow moving and just seemed to drag on.

Elinaly Martina wrote: "I'm sorry I'm arriving late and disappearing, lately! I'm always having crazy days and it's hard to find time for everything, including uploading things. I think I will finish tomorrow the book for..."

Yep, Insurgent can do the Finland's "D".

I don't know if I have read way too many good books, but I can't rate the Divergent series higher than 2-3... I'll read the 3rd book in series also, but only because I want to see how this all ends.

I'm eager to fly to the next stop :D
Martina, how your "How to Be a Woman" book is doing?

message 381: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly Shy, could you find a book for the Finland stop, that could cover "N"?

message 382: by Martina (new)

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments I totally agree on the opinion about the Divergent series, I'm reading Insurgent mainly because it fits here! XD
I've just finished "How to be a woman" which I loved(I don't give 5 stars just because it's not absolutely totally perfect(I'm picky, I know). It made me laugh so much on the Tokyo subway everyone must have gone "hen na gaijin"(a strange foreigner)in their mind :)
I'll start Insurgent tomorrow, it's 10.30, and time to rest. See you in Finland! **

Elinaly I´m all good! :) reading books like crazy :D

For Finland stop we haven´t covered letter "N" yet - I´m waiting a word from Shy, if she could find a book for that.

If she doesn´t then my book has a character named Nikolai, which we can use.

But we still need any book from Shy to register for this stop.

Martina Forasacco | 74 comments I finished Insurgent today(thankfully) and must say it's even worse than the first. So sad that it's such a missed opportunity!
From now on I'll try and concentrate on studying and reading some easy japanese for the couple of weeks, as I've already read the books :)
How is everyone doing?

message 396: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly oh, I love the picture!

Teamies, may I register any book for this week, please? Not reading much at the moment, only hiking like crazy ;)

If Shy could read book with a colon in title, than it should be ok, I think?
Angie could you please register in the spreadseet book "Moon called", read on 30th April, rating 5, as any book (if everybody are ok with this, ofcourse) instead of the colon book I have there at the moment?

message 397: by Angie ☯ (last edited May 03, 2016 06:58PM) (new)

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Elinaly - I will update the spreadsheet for you. I have no problem with you doing the any book this week. :)
