That's the best in the series!

Week 6 - Spot #: 43
Series: #3
Date finished/Rating: 2/21 ★★★★
Review: There were some things about this book that left me unsatisfied. At the 95% spot, I thought this book was going to be closer than 3 stars than 4 but as the last hour of the audio played out and I thought about it half the night, I understood why some things were the way the went.
Anyway, this was my first series by Sanderson and I loved the experience so I'm definitely reading more of his stuff.

In the last book, Rune made a deal with Carling and now owes her one favor. Carling is sick and has decided to call it in. Honestly, that whole bit was totally lame. Rune decides to stay behind and help her try to figure out a cure. She goes into these fades and Rune ends up traveling back in time and meeting a young Carling. Every time he does though, reality is slightly shifted because they change things. That was actually the most interesting part. Unfortunately, there weren't that many of them.
So, umm, this was okay. I just found it rather dull. But I can finally move on!!! Yay! I'm actually looking forward to the next book. I think Grace will be animated and feisty! And of course I'm curious about Khalil and his reaction to meeting her.

Home Work by Kaje Harper

How It Fits: #3 in series
Finished: 2/20/16

It had been awhile since I'd read Book 2 and it took me a bit to get back into the groove of Mac and Tony. But I loved Mac's work on the case and I thought it was suitably "mysterious". As always Kaje Harper's writing just brings you right into the middle of a scene and you can "see" the characters thinking and acting. I felt this book was a good mix of relationship development and an interesting mystery. There was one point where I felt it was a bit long but given what happens at the end I can see the merits of the length. The secondary characters are very believable and completely add to the story. I was glad to be able to pick up Book 4 as soon as this one ended because I had to know how it would turn out!

Alternate Option: "I glance at my computer screen on the bed." Loc 1281
In this installment of the Addicted series, Lily continues therapy for her sex addiction and Lo returns home from rehab for his alcohol addiction. Trying to navigate their relationship and fight their addictions is already challenging enough when they start receiving texts threatening to expose Lily's secret addiction to the tabloids. Lily fears what will happen to her parent's business empire if her secret is revealed. I enjoyed the dual POV from both Lily and Lo's perspectives. I love them as a couple and, while I did not like some of the demands that were placed on them by their parents, I loved the ending and how Lo made it all perfect. I grew to like Lo's brother, Ryke, more in this book and I cannot wait for his story. Looking forward to reading Rose and Connor's book next.

We already got an ETA from Mary...if we could hear from Sally and Heather that would be great! :)

Another winner in this series although I think book #2 is my favorite so far. Mostly because I've always found the ex-con hero not to my liking, even when they were wrongly convicted. Which is sort of the case here but not quite. Plus book 2 had Julian as it's star. Another thing was that I found it hard to believe that just by shaving his beard and clothes he would walk around in public with no one recognizing him when he was plastered all over the news.

Review: Whether I'm in the mood for a YA book or not I can always count on loving a book by Becca Fitzpatrick. This one is no exception! It has everything you want in a great story... mystery, strong characters, fun and exciting conversations. Add in a little romance and you have a 5* read.

I really don't even know how to review this book. At first I was quite bored with it but as it goes on and delves more into their lives it really was just wow.
I thought the layout of the letters initially was annoying and weird but now I get it. I know they say they are letters to someone but it really could be anything you think. Was it even real? Was it just his imagination, how he organized his thoughts? I don't know, I feel like it's one of those books I will need to re-read.
I also have not seen the movie so that may be on my agenda for the year. I didn't give it a 5 stars because some parts were confusing/boring and I just didn't get the point of the book. It was a 200 page book that at times felt like 500 pages. Weird I know, but good, interesting, different.

I just finished reading Raze a few days ago and LOVED it. It's really a great story. You definitely should try it if you get a chance.

But since print & ebooks take a bit longer to get through since I went back to school, I will also start an audio book that works for this week. Not sure what yet. I'll pick it tomorrow.

Review: Good 'enemies to lovers' story with an excellent, well researched mystery. Both main characters were good, brave people trying to do the right thing. I loved when the heroine's friend told her that we (women) were perfectly capable of having the hots for a man without love. :)

Mitch Shaw and Sissy Mae Smith are just friends. Friends who like to torment each other and everyone else. However, Mitch has a price on his head and it won't be long before he goes under witness protection. To keep him safe, Sissy Mae takes him home to Tennessee until he testifies.
*Cue the banjos- Deliverance*
You can always count on Shelly Laurenston books to deliver a crazy, hilarious and sexy story that's just so ridiculous it leaves me with a big goofy grin on my face. I love it :D

I had to start one of my ARCs, which is a 4 in a series. If we land on a 4 on Friday, I'll be pissed off!

Kings Rising by C.S. Pacat
385 pgs/GR
How It Fits: #3 in series
Finished: 2/29/16
Rating: 3.5 stars
I'm going to round this up to a 4 for my Goodreads rating because overall I think the series is great and well worth reading, for Book 2 alone. There were parts of this book that I loved, the prose is enjoyable to read, it has suspense and humor and characters that we care about. I loved the build of Damen and Laurent's relationship and their scenes together. But, the last 1/3 of the book lost me. There were a number of things that happened that made no sense and the ending just seemed a little rushed and flat. And there were some things that happened that stretched credulity, and it wasn't necessary. We already love these guys, they don't have to be super heroes. I am glad Pacat is putting out some epilogues/additional material not so much to clarify things but because I'd like my final experience with these guys to be slightly more jubilant.
