Ah, ha, the plot thickens. Okay, I've been up most of the night, working a project most of the day. You'll let this one slide, right? lol

Tina, I know there is a point early in the book where I was inclined to stop, as well. (When a ghost showed up!) But I stuck with it and am pretty glad that I did.

I reached that point; am intrigued! Glad you stuck with it, Pghfan!

I liked the idea of Upstaged By Murder, a Rex Graves mystery.
Nicole, care to start a June title search thread? If no, I'll do it. Just let me know. Thanks. :-)

Okay, thanks, Nicole! Just swamped w/a hard deadline in order not to spoil a birthday. Just when I think it's ready, one step forward, three back. I'll get there. ;-)

I'm posting now, sorry for the delay - we had a graduation in the family today! :-)

No problem. Everyone seems busy this week. A good thing I guess. :-)

Ugh! Suppose to be record high temps down here and wouldn't ya know, AC goes out on us. Fun! :-/ Hope they can come in tomorrow. Even the cats are miserable. lol?
Nicole wrote: "Oh, no! Do you have fans, Tina!?"
Thanks, Nicole. Yep, fans going. So, the guy came in today and assessed that we need a new motor. The unit isn't that old-- Anyway, he hooked us up temporarily and so happy to have some sort of cool air circulating about. Tomorrow our new motor comes in and gets installed. Meantime, in AC heaven!

Enjoy!!!
Congrats! I got ductless A/C last year (the house has radiators, so that is my best option) and LOVE it!

Very cool, Pghfan. AC unit is pretty much the standard in our area. Good, bad? Great when it's working--

I'm with you across the miles, Nicole. Watched it in its first run and catching it again! One of my favorite episodes is Market for Murder when the gals meet for ahem...their book discussion.
Actress who played Lady Catherine in P&P (firth version) is in this one. LOL when the village floosie mixes it up w/one of the characters. Not to spoil; let me know when you get to that episode. Several scenes are too funny. Love Tom Barnaby and the earlier sidekicks.

I am a huge fan of Midsomer as well. The good news is that there are over 100 episodes already, and still making them!

Glad they're still filming but just sayin, I'm not loving the latest installments in the series. But what do I know? :-/

Maybe we should post a Midsomer thread. Just pop in and out as we feel. Nicole, refresh me memory, please. What is the first title and the one you're on now?

Yes! I fell asleep during the second (no reflection on the show, it's been a long week...) and will probably finish it tonight. It's Written in Blood.
Mark Pghfan wrote: "I think the first is The killings at Badger's Drift."
Thanks, Pghfan. Love the early Midsomers and Tom and the first few sidekicks up to and including Jones. Not feeling the last guy. I'm a bit more use to the new Barnaby but just warm on him. Miss Tom!

Nicole, thankfully we have luxury of rewind otherwise I'd miss out on lots of good programming.

Agatha Christie Q -- Is Sparkling Cyanide also known as Yellow Iris in the Poirot series? Anyone know?
Nicole wrote: "Yes. Yellow Iris was the original short story, I believe. It’s also know as Remembered Death."
Thanks, Nicole. Last night I caught different adaptation of Yellow Iris. Though it resembled YI as I'd seen it, they changed the whodunit and made it a new mystery.

Remembered Death or Sparkling Cyanide is a novel, without Poirot, roughly based on the Poirot story, Yellow Iris.
Gotcha, Pghfan. Wonder why several titles on same Christie books? Did they do that with Old Man and the Sea, Catcher/Rye etc? I would think original title works fine or even better than three or four on the same tome.
Read a book or short for July or are we all busy and should leave it for August? Up to you, PI's. I'm good any way.
Nicole wrote: "I’m good either way, too! Want to read an Aggie?"
If I read another Aggie, I'd like one that I haven't read yet which is second from last in book series, Dead Ringer. Last installment not available 'til fall. *Dead Ringer did not earn good reviews so-- However, good or bad, I want to decide for myself and will read it either way.

True story: When I said let's read another "Aggie", I actually meant Agatha Christie, completely forgetting about Agatha Raisin, lol. It could go either way!

NicoleG, did you like Dead Ringer? I've yet to read it and of course new book not yet out to the general public.

The question I ask myself daily LOL
I started reading an ARC that an author just sent me. That's why I end up reading 3-5 books at a time. I can never decide on one!!
Woman In the Window coming to a screen near you. Amy Adams as lead. I kind of pictured some one else for that role. Let's see what she does with it.
1/2 price discount (we got in under wire) is passed on to any one interested in the 2020 Bed & Breakfast Mascot calendars for low price of $17.00 ea & 6.00 S&H. I'd love to give calendars away comp'd but we're not breaking even. I'd hoped to at least not lose in the charitable deal. Person commissioning calendars didn't plan on making on the project but not losing either Thanks!
