Cassandra | 5832 comments Thanks for pointing that out, Leslie! I think my notifications must have gotten a little wonky on this topic because I seem to be missing more people than normal.

If anyone else didn't make it on the participants list, just let me know! I want to make sure everyone is included. :)

There is no way I could finish the whole challenge, so I'll go for 10 books. I hope I can stop myself from starting to read The Martian before the end of the year though...

I took a quick look on Google under "novels about accountants" and found Skipping Christmas by John Grisham and The Pale King by David Foster Wallace. There are definitely others, but I haven't looked much further yet, and nothing I've seen so far really jumps out at me as something I recognise. I haven't read either of these, mind, but I have seen Christmas with the Kranks which was based on Skipping Christmas (it was decent enough, but not exactly great), and The Pale King was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize the year it came out. Hope these help! :)

I haven't read The Pale King, but I like David Foster Wallace. He has an interesting writing style. I like him.

Anna | 39 comments Could The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights count as a book based on a fairy tale?

message 133: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 5832 comments Anna, that's a good question. I think the intent may be to read a book that is a retelling of a fairy tale, while that book seems to be the original "fairy tale." It isn't super clear though, so feel free to go either way with that one.

I'm having trouble finding one that has an early childhood educator. Mostly just books with high school teachers. Might have to use one of those if I can't find one.

I think I read a book this year where they worked as a tax accountant, I'll look and let you know.
