My book actually matched 2 words from 2 different titles. I read Logicomix: An epic search for truth by Apostolos Doxiadis. This was a graphic book, but, I believe it is alright for a 15 point task. The words that matched were 'Search' in title A. below and 'Truth' in title B. below.

My random titles:
A. 'Child in the Search'
B. 'The Stripped Truth'
C. 'Burning Lord'
D. 'The Missing Servant'
E. 'The Names of the Silk'
F. 'Voyages in the Nobody'

30.1 – Schatzie’s Task: Tis the season for giving back
Read two books from listed options.

Option #1
Read a a book about an animal rescue.

I chose Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper. Homer was an abandoned blind kitten rescued from the streets of Miami by a caring pet owner who took him to her vet and was adopted by the author.

Homer's Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned about Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat

Option #4
As a gift from the task creator, read a book of my choice.

I chose Dickens of A Cat edited by Callie Smith Grant.

A Dickens of a Cat: And Other Stories of the Cats We Love
An anthology that
keeps with the theme of the task about giving especially to animals with each story featuring an abandoned or unwanted cat and how adopting them made a difference in both the lives of the cats and their humans.

15.1 Make the Switch

I read The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey and My Name Is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. Authors are EliSabeth and EliZabeth.

25.2 - Brooke TX's task: December: It's that time of the year

For my first book, I chose option 3 and read Mrs. Pollifax and the Hong Kong Buddha (Mrs. Pollifax, Book 7) by Dorothy Gilman . Cityscape of Hong Kong is the background of the cover. Here's a bigger picture of the cover, on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0449....

For my second book, I chose option 4 and read The Guilty - most recently published book in the Will Robie series.

30.2 - Jonquil's task: You think you saw what?

For my first book, I chose The Yellow House Van Gogh, Gauguin, and Nine Turbulent Weeks in Arles by Martin Gayford . It looks like a guest room to me, so I read The Guest Room.

For my second book, I chose Impressionists by Antonia Cunningham . The primary dancer looks as if she's zig-zagging across the stage, so I read The Zig Zag Girl.

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) | 2062 comments 20.1 Most Improved - Megan W's task: (Super)Heroes

2) Read a non-fiction book by or about someone who you consider heroic.
Required: Include an explanation of who you think is heroic and why:

All of the people that have survived in a country under attack are heroic. This one tells the story of Shostakovich as he helped himself and others retain humanity through the writing and performance of his music, particularly his seventh symphony, "The Leningrad Symphony". Although not the typical war hero, I found his ability to keep going against great odds inspiring and heroic:

Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad by M.T. Anderson

25.9 - Diversify Your Reading - Read two books, each by a female author with a diverse ethnic background and/or culture. Both books can be by the same author, but at least one must be a new-to-you author
1. 彩雲国物語 絵巻 Saiunkoku Monogatari Emaki
2. 彩雲国物語 絵巻 2

Both are written by Sai Yukino, a female Japanese author. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sai_Yukino. I have not read anything by her before.

These painters are: Paul Cezanne - Georges Seurat - Claude Monet - Jean-Auguste-Dominque Ingres - Vincent van Gogh (ignoring the middle v) - Joesph Turner - John Constable
