OMG the end of that Atlanta game was awesome. Tied- overtime-interception- touchdown Ok, back to reading, napping, walk the dogs in the park later, more football tonight...maybe a pizza...
I love having Autumn Sundays off.

I love..."
You are right about the end of that game, but my team came out on the losing end. Overall, great day of football watching!
I'm still watching baseball. Since the Minnesota Twins had their best season in years but choked at the end, I am finding other teams to root for - or against, since there are a couple teams in each league that I like at this point. Makes for an interesting playoff season.
I lived so long in Atlanta, I still have interest in the teams there. I went to so many Braves games, especially during their winning seasons in the 90's. Really none of the same players are involved now, so it's easy to get the Rangers fever where I live now. I've always loved baseball, watching or even just listening on the radio. It's relaxing and exciting at the same time.
Texas is up on Toronto 2-0 in best of 5 series, E. They did not look so great earlier in the year, but are peaking at the right time. They are playing again tonight.
Oh my goodness. I just overwhelmed myself. I just discovered that I have 887 books marked as to read. Now granted some of them are cookbooks, some are health and healthy living books, which you don't read in exactly the traditional sense. With that said I think I need to start reading faster and stop adding all the great selections I see while reading threads in this group! Do any of you get to the bottom of your reading wish list or even try?

I use my list as a "reminder" about what might catch my interest.

Focusing on Cubs and Cards.
Melanie said: stop adding to the great selections...do you ever get to the bottom of the TBR list...Never and nope.
I'll probably never read them all, but I can't look at it as a mountain to climb. It's more like a never ending Christmas list. And I love discovering new authors and genres I would never get interested in if I only looked around the book store or library. Checking out other people's favorites shelves or getting involved with Pick It 4 Me, and adding titles to my TBR has really broadened my horizons .. and there's that "hours of joy" thing with the actual reading
@ I'm with you on this, E. I have over 2000 on Christmas list. Comfortimg to know I will mever lack for anything to read, lol.@ Kerry, yay, glad to know you are startimg to feel human again!
@Pat and E: I am pulling for teams that have some former Twins players (Jays - sorry), Mets...also teams that haven't won for a LONG time, which, of course, is the Cubs, and KC, because they're in our division. I guess that means I don't want your teams, StL and Texas. Mostly, I am glad the Yankees are OUT!

@Pat, E, and LoreaWe are having thanksgiving today so I only have a quick minute. Hope you don't mind a mass reply. Thank you for all your thoughts and tips. I continued to add more books today. PIFM has really led me quickly to some new authors. After posting I headed to the first couple pages of my TBR list and sort of categorized my "Top 20" it will be fun to see how long it would take to read them all!
Jean wrote: "Yes, happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian friends!"Thank you Jean. That's right in the US you don't celebrate it until the end of November.

It's been a nice weekend here. All the leaves are starting to turn and it was still nice enough to have tea and pie out on the porch after dinner. Gotta love the changing seasons and hopefully remember that in a few months when I am screaming that my face is going to fall off from the cold.LOL

Love baseball! Saw the game this afternoon of KC and Astros! Wow! What a game. Enjoy Jean. My bucket list is to go to Bradenton FL for spring training of the Pirates. Spend that money! Damn kids don't need any inheritance!!!!
Go Pat! Spring training would be awesome! I wouldn't mind seeing the Astros win. Should be quite a contest on Wed. back in KC. It's great that nobody is going 3 and out. Makes it a lot more fun!
Sue wrote: "Happy Thankgiving to all! I cooked the Turkey yesterday and we had leftovers today. So yummy!"Well, I am behind on news. I did not realize Canada had Thsnksgiving now! I love that! Usually we are fighting snow storms and it's a Thursday so trying to drive hundrds of miles for one day etc....
My son is coming home the last week of October for a weeks vacation and we will celebrate the holidays. Easier for time off and driving. Does anyone else re-arrange their holidays??
I know we seem strange to do so but I seem to be more practical about it than sentimental. Anyone else?

Very Excited to announce a new author member as well that I just invited yesterday, as I just finished her book "The Last Good Place" by Robin Burcell.

As you may know I have been off work for 5 weeks.
So I have spent some time on one of my favourite subjects, films and movie stars.
So my apologies, but cannot resist adding a few new films threads, Favourite films of many great actors.

Either one, though with my crappy sense of physical balance, a hug would probably be better. :)
Sean: Ouch.
Pat: I have more than 1K on # of titles my TRB... . Uh...who's ahead: Cubbies or Red Birds?
Lorrea: I'd tip my hat to you if I were actually WEARING one! Over 3K on your TBR?! Damn! I'm impressed...and I'm NOT that easy to impress.

@Amber - Cubbies won! I like anyone who beats the Cardinals. They are the rivals of Pittsburgh Pirates. Onto the next round of games.

I want to see the Cubbies go all the way.
Thanks Kerry
Slowly getting better, slowly is the word, still off work, meant to be back on Monday.
Although my wife has pulled all her muscles in her chest with coughing, I am still having tough coughing fits, although not quite so often.
Been a long 5 weeks off sick, may cost be a lot of money as well, as my work may decide not to give me a Christmas bonus, but we have to think of our health first.
Also here in Jersey we pay to see our doctors, so each time I needed a sick note for me is cost £43.00, then the same for the wife another £43.00, we both have had to go 4 times each so far.

That Rangers-Jays game was WILD! It would've been interesting to see how MLB would've ruled on the protest, but I understand that Toronto withdrew its protest after that great comeback win (I so feel a bit bad for the shortstop - what a terrible inning he had!)Pulling for the Mets tonight, then it will be time for the championship series. Really hard not to root for the Cubs, even though I like all the teams that made it so far. Last World Series win was in 1908, I think. Time to beat the curse!
Yup, I was rooting for the Jays. Yay, Jose! Too bad the fans got rude and nasty for a bit. I did think the Jays had a beef on that call when Texas got their 3rd run, because the ump called time! Yes, the ball should have been live, but once he calls time, the play is dead, and the runner should have been sent back to third base. That would have been unfortunate for Texas, because the umpire blew the call. But then they all tried to do the right thing and allowed the run to count! I think that was wrong. But in the end, the Jays had a big inning, thanks to a few extra outs due to THREE errors and JB's big HR, so good for them. Way to hang in there. Big comeback in the series too.
Pat: That's what I was afraid of!Sean: Sorry to hear you've been off so long. You and your wife are probably getting cabin fever by now. I know this is only about fifteen seconds worth of a Golden Retriever puppy attacking his (or her) carrot snack, but I thought it'd be worth it for a smile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSZ8T...
Aaron: I'm STILL pissed off at Mayor Eckert and the Belleville City Council for outright BANNING anyone over the age of TWELVE from Trick-or-Treating! If it weren't for the ban I'd LOVE to get dressed up and go out on the 31st.
@Aaron - hey, welcome back.@Jean & Aaron - I missed the Jays game but watched Astros & KC. The games seem to be great this season. I am going to root for the Cubbies. Those guys are on fire.
@Sean & the missus - feel well soon. 5 weeks can begin to feel like 5 years when sick.
Yesterday and today managed a two mile fast walk both days.
I have to do this, as back to work Monday, straight away will be back to full work which is 10-12 miles fast walking everyday between our three offices and in our offices.
Lots of walking, emptying heavy shredding bins, changing toners in 30-40 copy machines, etc..
So in between watching the tennis, resting must do a couple of longer walks.
Although hard when have felt so weak for 5 weeks.
