Does anyone else switch a lot between ebooks and paper/hardbacks? Over the last several months I've read nothing but on my kindle, now all I want to do is read paper. I've really missed holding a real book in my hands and the smell of a new book... also a lot of ebooks are at the same price as a paperback, so I might as well buy an actual book.. :))

Thanks everyone x
Kimberley, I read both, depending on demands (Net Galley)
Just woke up after 12 hours sleep !
My wife went to work one day, back to the doctors and like me off for another week.
What a pair !
Sue
I have over 800 paperbacks on my shelf, and around 100 books on my kindle, and 55 Net Galley books !

Yes Kimberley, I like to switch back and forth. I like to look at a coloured book cover. It makes an impression.
I do Kim. I love the library, and if I read too many Kindle books in a row, I just HAVE to go to the library for a "real" book!Brenda, that's great news about your mom! Sean, you and your wife sound miserable! Take care.
Now that I've got reading glasses I'm enjoying reading actual books again. Don't use glasses for my Kindle I just male the typeface bigger! I read wherever I get bargains, books and ebooks and enjoy both.
Good news, Brenda.
Good news, Brenda.
Add some humour. My sister told me that my 87 years old mum, who lives in a home now, was told off as found taking a 90 years old lady out, they were both caught going on the main road , speeding in their wheelchairs.
My mum said they wanted to go out !!

I hope you and your wife get well soon, Sean!
Thanks getting rather depressing and boring.
But gives me a chance to catch up on my TV and films, and on my good read and my own website !

Sean, you're mum is awesome!!!!!

Never heard of that condition.
Kerry: Re: how weird sugars get when a diabetic is sick: "Been there, done that, got the (bleep)ing T-shirt!"
Sean: Yeah, your mom is awesome.
It's very rare, even the doctors don't seem to know much about it or what causes it. I've found more information on a Facebook page for this and related conditions.Your mum sounds fab Sean!!
Had real trouble keeping my sugars low at the moment which means I'm either super stressed or getting ill -_- Faaaaabulous. Just what I need for my first week back at uni lol
Have a nice time.
Kerry no the feeling, my sugars for 3-4 weeks have been 12 to 14, then 7.5 to 4.9, then 14.2.
Do not understand.
Final Bake off tonight.

I took care of someone with diabetes for years. I know how you need to keep your sugars balanced. Often times stress and sickness triggers an imbalance. It looks as if that's why you, Kerry and Sean, are having such problems now.Try to calm yourself, but stay active. Expending some healthy energy can help.
3-4 hours after my breakfast my sugars were 17.4, way high.
Took a metformin lunchtime, by late afternoon my sugars were 6.2, which is good, walked 200 hundred yards to the post office, that's all.
My wife's muscles all in her chest and back are agony with all the coughing.
This has been some strong virus, laryngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia, all started by the virus.
But sorting more out on here with messages etc..
Wrote some letter today for signed photos, watched TV, wife is catching up with her programmes, and also watching The Invaders on the TV with me.
Don't forget to get you free book on Amazon of Heather's.
Yes Groovy, Stress... high sugars
Sick.... High sugars
no exercise... High sugars
Too much exercise.. low sugars
My job at work... low sugars, walk 10-12 miles a day everyday!
But slowly feeling a little better, but coughs are frightening, as you feel air trapped in your throat, and you feel you cannot breath.
Learnt not to panic, breath in through my nose, till it clears, the dizziness, and the breathless..
Anyway enough, my job is to sit down and work on improving this group.
My ambition in to have 3,000 members by the end of the years, and hopefully all posting and taking part.
There has been massive problems in one or two other groups, who I am trying to help.
One or two others that have been taken over by goodreads and members being banned.
No work does help with time !
Groovy, think how mad I am, no tennis for 4 weeks, no snooker for four weeks (snooker night is nearly 4-5 hours then home at 11.00p.m at night.
Wife is watching another Marry My Millionaire, Here Comes The Bride, I Found The Gown, Say Yes To The Dress , 24 Hours at A & E. !!

Sean: I hope she hasn't bruised a rib with all her coughing. Those are no damned fun, either.
You don't have to tell me, Sean. I know how you must be feeling not being able to play tennis. And that's probably one of the reasons your symptoms are at the levels they are, and it's taking so long for you to heal.I had everything you're going through--not only air stuck in my throat, but loads of phlegm (Yuck)I had to take pills to help me to breath. That started in August, this is October and I still cough a little, but I'm soooo much better.
Try to stay calm. Assure yourself that this is not the end of your playing days. You'll be right back on those courts, but you have to be patient and stay positive. Whether you're stressed or calm, it's going to run its course. So, sit back and let it:)
Engross yourself in other projects that make you happy. All the best to you and your wife. Keep us posted.
Oh my gosh. Just took my after dinner blood sugar levels... 28.7mmolI haven't been that high since I was first diagnosed. *freaks out and cries*
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa *flails and waves arms about the place*
Kerry, please calm down. Breathe. You're stressed, that's one. Are you eating something with high levels of sugar in it? Go running or do something high energy to get your levels down. Take care.
Groovy wrote: "Kerry, please calm down. Breathe. You're stressed, that's one. Are you eating something with high levels of sugar in it? Go running or do something high energy to get your levels down. I've been doing situps and pilates in my flat xD It's nearly 10pm in a dodgy area so I'm not going outside, but I've been doing pilates and stuff
Then it must be the stress. I know if it gets bad enough you'll go and see your doctor. Hopefully, that's all it is. Keep us posted.
Please note Heather Burnside book, is FREE till Sunday.

Music makes me feel better, no matter what my sugars are doing. The problem, at home, is FINDING a radio station with decent reception to listen to... .When I'm at the library, if I haven't forgotten my earbuds, I can rely on any one of my FIVE YouTube playlists. I'm currently on Playlist #1, but I also have two for Christmas and Halloween. Currently on Playlist #1 is Celtic Woman - Si Do Mhaimeo I - Wealthy Widow ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJyoz... ).
I apologize for the sucky state of the resolution.
So excited! I've just been asked to become an author/contributor to successstory.com from someone who follows my blog.

Haha, you're more popular than you realise. :)
Loretta, it's not the music that sucks..it's the reception I get. Unless I get super lucky, it's all so staticky that I just leave it on NPR and, for me, unless I'm tuned to the KNAU or KJZZ stations (the NPR affiliates at Northern Arizona University and Phoenix, respectively) NPR just doesn't play a lot of stand alone music.By stand alone music, I mean music that's NOT part of the overall story...like anytime they talk about STAR WARS or the music from the 1938 Orson Welles Halloween broadcast of HG Wells' THE WAR OF THE WORLDS like they did last year on RADIOLAB 360... .
Speaking of my YouTube stuff, I am currently listening to Heart - Barracuda (with lyrics): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyMHV...
Groovy: Working on it.
Well I was right about becoming ill. *shivers in bed*If I don't make it through this plague, I love you all *weeps*
No, but seriously I'm getting a lot of reading done which is great lol. I'm on such a huge YA kick lately and I dunno why because I never usually read YA
Hi to everyone. Anyone interested in helping me write a psychological thriller? I have an outline posted on my blog and there is a challenge for anyone who can come up with an interesting concept to add to the story. There is a reward. http://bit.ly/1OdsTUg
Kerry: Re: your normal aversion to YA: Being so physically ill that you're stuck in bed does make people read crap they normally WOULDN'T and that's what 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999ad infinitum% of YA/NA is: Crap.

Because I think neither I've ever heard nor I will ever hear any other such surprisingly genuine, absolutely brilliant, touchingly beautiful, heavily true and abruptly stunning yet superbly enigmatic opinion about YA in one simple sentence that expresses my own feelings about those! I can not agree more. I tell you - I will remember this! I think you just made me cry.
I bow and applaud thee till my back and hands fall off.

My wife and I have been signed off work for another week, next week.
Still coughing at night, early mornings.
But both much better, just fits of coughs now and again.
Next week will be my 5th week off.
