Groovy Lee Sean, those pictures you took off the coast of Jersey are beautiful! No wonder you're always in such a good mood. I can only DREAM about a backyard like that with a tennis court. Is that where you play some of your tournaments?

And although cats aren't my friends, that black cat is so pretty:)

Thanks Groovy.

The court is a friends house, and we play on that from May to June, then move to a grass court on another court and play on that till end of September.

Here is a link to the club I play at. Next week the World Island Games are being played there.

http://www.caesareantennisclub.com/

Black cat is Arnie !

Sorry friends not on here too much today.

Car Boot Sale from 7.00 a.m till 2.00

Then watched Andy Murray wins Queens for the fourth time.

Then just got back from 2 1/2 hours singles, which I won today 7-5 2-6 6-0 !

But, good news off work for two weeks, so tennis, walking, gardening, cleaning, lunches, and maybe a trip to St Malo if I have time.

Groovy pleased you like the beaches and the Ecrohoes, off Jersey.

Groovy Lee Thanks for the link, Sean. Absolutely gorgeous. You may be off for two weeks, but it looks like you're still working. You're supposed to rest.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO EVERYONE!!!!! (including the women who had to be both mother and father)

message 5969: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Janet, I can't watch Hannibal right now because of schedule differences. I'm going to buy the season when it comes out. But I have a question I need to know now. Without giving away too much: Is Jack still alive?

message 5970: by Heather (new)

Heather Burnside (goodreadscomheather_burnside) | 385 comments Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend and a happy Father's Day. We went for tapas Saturday evening with the kids as my son was home for the weekend. Then I cooked a roast beef dinner yesterday (hubby's favourite) for Father's Day, and nipped to my brother's to see my dad while my son kept his eye on the beef. :)

Groovy, the focus has been on Hannibal, Will and Gillian Anderson's character so far. Not sure about any of the other characters yet. I am losing patience with it though. I'm hoping it picks up a lot and soon.

message 5972: by Amber (last edited Jun 22, 2015 09:16AM) (new)

Amber Martingale Several fathers in Ireland had a very bad Father's Day yesterday as they found out their kids, visiting San Francisco, died at a friend's birthday party when their 5th floor balcony collapsed (US 5th floor, which would be the UK/Europe's FOURTH floor).

Although I got the clip from Yahoo!news, I actually heard it this morning on NPR.

I agree totally! This third season is leaning on surrealism much more than actual progression of the story.
But they said that they are planning the next season on Red Dragon and that means (view spoiler) surely by the end of this season. So I am impatiently waiting for the sudden pace up.

I gave up this season has been just too weird even for me. its too jumpy about and not enough storyline. basically feels like a filler that they had no idea what to do with and are just filling airspace - well its no filling mine anymore

message 5976: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Thanks, Janet, Titas, and Sharon. Wow, I guess my daughter and I are excited about nothing. But, if it starts to get back on track and you find out if Jack made it, let me know. Right now, the actor who plays him is on another sitcom, so I'm wondering if he'll come back.

I'm tempted to hit that spoiler link though.

I read an article the other day on this season and I have a fair idea of what's coming up. For now I'll stick with it because I know which actor they're bringing in and I'm intrigued. I'm just hoping for more substance!

message 5978: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Don't keep me in the dark, Janet. Which actor? Which?

message 5979: by Janet , Moderator (new)

Janet | 5303 comments Mod
Don't know if you have head of him. It's Richard Armitage. He's going to have a prominent part from what I've just read. If what I've read is accurate it should be an interesting season. Thirteen episodes and we've only seen two so far. We'll see.

Now I've read that Hannibal has been cancelled by NBC. It may get a reprise from another network otherwise it looks like this season will be the last.

message 5981: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Whaaaat? Man!!! If you think about it, how long can a series run when the serial killer is finally exposed? Oh well.

message 5982: by Titas (new)

Titas | 184 comments Yes Hannibal the sickly beautiful show has been cancelled by NBC. Don't get wrong but NBC is an arse; a fine piece of arse.
We all know season 3 is a little slow but cancelling a critically acclaimed show after airing just 3 episode of a season is just a brain-dead movement for a network. They could've easily waited for the end of the season or at least till some more episode were aired.

From their interviews it is pretty clear that they ae not gonna keep Hannibal on loose for too much.

I'm not surprised to be honest. If viewing ratings aren't achieved, shows are cut. Season 3 has gotten off to a bad start. Too self indulgent.

message 5986: by Autumn (new)

Autumn (autumnmemory80) I watched the first season of Hannibal and it made me feel so dark. I did not know if I could keep watching. Then I got disk 1 of season 2. I watched 5 minutes and returned it. But you are right, they are wonderful actors!

Unfortunately, that is not how American tv works.
The whole is driven by advertising dollars. If the show is not drawing in the required ratings in the desired demographics, then it is adious amigo.

Jo Ann Reinhold (jwreinhold) | 42 comments Just an FYI for Stacy Green fans, her newest book in her Lucy Kendall series "Gone To Die" launched today! I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy and it is so good! I really think it is the best of the three!

message 5989: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee I should have known. When I saw clips of the show with Hannibal sitting on a motorcycle, wearing a leather jacket, in Paris, no less, I knew something was out of the norm. And it was to me, self-indulgent.

You'd think by now that writers of these shows would get the hint that when you change a formula that works, then it loses its appeal to the audience.

I think that's the guy who played Thorin Oakenshield in PJ's version of THE HOBBIT.

And, Michael it's spelled ADIOS, NOT adious. I lived in Arizona but knew that in Head Start.

Announced today Hannibal cancelled.

Richard Armitage, was the star of the series Strike Back, a great series.

message 5992: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mccall honestly cant say I was surprised to hear Hannibal had been cancelled. this season has been a total joke. cant follow the storyline at all - since when did Gillian Anderson's character decided she wanted to eat folk?? Richard Armitage is a great actor (yum yum) and you are right amber he did play thorin and he was in the first series of strike back and also in spooks. he didn't last long in the second series of strike back but his replacements were just as yumable

message 5993: by Amber (last edited Jun 23, 2015 01:21PM) (new)

Amber Martingale Well, I remembered him because there were some production stills of Thorin where he looked like he could play rugby with a Gungan's head...especially if the Gungan in question is Jar Jar Binks, Sharon.

message 5994: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Well, from all the negative views its been getting, it's no surprise. I guess I'll never know if Jack survived or not:(

message 5995: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I just don't watch TV, Groovy. Not because I'm not interested in it, I am. I can't AFFORD the cable/satellite bill.

message 5997: by Groovy (last edited Jun 24, 2015 07:55PM) (new)

Groovy Lee OMG! Janet, you didn't! I'm about to cry. Is he still alive, then?

Amber, that's why I don't have cable, either. I get approached often about their "specialties" and I tell them point blank, "I'm anti-cable/satellite."

Groovy Lee Then I'm a happy girl. I won't ask anymore about it since it's getting good. We'll just wait to get the season on DVD. But let me know if it starts to fizzle again. Thanks, Janet. I can't wait to tell my daughter.
