Sharon Mccall Kimberley hope your birthday was good

hi Brenda hope you have had a good vacation

hope the rest of you are having a good sunday - mine has been manic. firstly I did an hour's PT with my crossfit coach during which I swear he was trying to ensure my legs were going to fall off. then I had to go shopping which was harder than usual cos I have a heavy carb diet towards the end of the week so was having to buy items for that and as carbs are something I usually steer away from it was not a happy shop lol. then it was home put the stew on for dinner have a quick lunch made a cream sponge cake then two batches of rhubarb crumble muffins a rhubarb crumble some stewed rhubarb then had to make the dinner! have literally just sat down. think I want to sleep now :)

Hi Skye! Your question got a little lost in the italics. :-)

Let's just say Nebraska is not as flat as Kansas, but the countryside is just as boring. Fields and fields of crops separated by windrows with scattered trees. Most of our time was in Omaha with wall to wall concrete.

message 5879: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Now, now, Brenda. If it weren't for those fields of crops....

What about the countryside do you find boring? There's no annoying neighbors with their annoying barking dogs, you can walk outside in your skivvy's, sit out late at night and admire the constellations, etc., etc.,--right?

I used to be able to stand out in my skivvy's, now here come the new homes. What I would give to have my countryside back.

Well, Groovy, I am a country girl and I see your point. What I found boring was the repetitiveness of the fields. We drove almost 1,000 miles looking at basically wide open fields of wheat, corn, and pasture with occasional flooded areas. It's beautiful country, but monotonous while driving.

Ter'e Crow Lindsay (terecrow) | 798 comments Popping in quickly.......well, as quick as I can at 2:30 a.m.

I have been a lousy group member these past weeks. I apologize for being off the grid.

Our home sold.......and we started packing up all 2400 sq ft. I have a bunch of "stuff". House is wall to wall boxes. We had been told the closing was to be about 6/15 and all was sound and good. Call the movers........plan tour escape to Kansas City.............well, yeh.........that sounds good.

At the last minute, our buyers credit fell thru. I cried for two days and then I got p'd off!!!! Our middle daughter does credit repair......out of a law office. She has lots of Loan Officers in her back pocket, so to speak. She immediately fot on the phone to see if she could find another lender.

So that's where we are now. The loan is in underwriting. We are hoping and praying it goes thru. The kids buying our house are simply darling.......and they truly want to buy it. We truly want to sell it. My Shelly is like a rabid dog with something between her teeth!!!!! She's working hard to get Mom and Dad back to KC.

In the meantime, I am exhaused, hopeful, scared, and just trying to breathe. I do not want to unpack this house and stay in FL. No way Jose!!!

So if I don't asn comments for a bit......you'll know where my head is. Hope everyone is doin fine. I miss the Chatter of our group.

Found it! :-)

Omaha is one big bustling city. Lots of four lane highways throughout the city. Offutt AFB nearby, 11 universities, 14 hospitals, and innumerable churches. Good thing I didn't have to drive. It looked scary.

Brenda; it's odd to think of Omaha in that manner; I don't know how I pictured it.

message 5897: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Hope you're winning, or at least making the other team work for it, Sean. Now, go and rest off your back.

message 5898: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Okay, I wasn't going to vent about it, but I'm just so mad. If any of you live here in the US, then you know about ATT and what a headache they can be.

I signed up for their internet, right? Well, the trial period ended last month. And do you know they charged me $20 for the transition from trial to regular? I mean, who does that? They charged ME for giving them my service. When I started with ATT, my first phone bill was $25, now it's up to $45. And I don't even use the phone that much or like phones. I just have it in case of emergencies.

I hope to goodness that a brilliant Harvard graduate starts a phone/internet conglomerate with reasonable rates that won't go up every year, and cares more about the customers enjoyment than squeezing every dime out of them.

Maybe I should just have the phone service cut off and invest in a cheap cell phone service. That's my venting for the day--I think.
