Tara (ptaradactyl816) | 271 comments I am trying to decide which of these to read next:
Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez from Colombia
or
The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo from Brazil
I already have both of them on my Audible to listen to so I will get to both of them eventually but if you wanna give me feedback on which to take on first please let me know.

message 695: by Amanda (new)

Amanda R (fairyteapot) | 1559 comments Tara, the Alchemist is a lovely story. Very easy to read. I have kept my copy. I only do this with books I really love. You learn from this book in a positive way. I haven't read the other book but it is on my TBR list :)

message 696: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 74 comments I have read 17/20 so far (#130) but - I'd have done more if I was just setting the books in a country as many seem to be doing - I thought this was meant to be the author comes from the country we reference?

Tara - to even things up here - sorry Amanda! - I thought The Alchemist preachy, self-satisfied and poorly written. I rarely give 1 star but this was what it got. It is, however, short.

message 697: by Amanda (new)

Amanda R (fairyteapot) | 1559 comments How funny Deborah that our opinions differ so much. Everybody's different. Happy reading!
