Cassandra, my favorite book of the challenge was The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope, a memoir from Malawi. Highly recommended.

9) Mexico - Sudden Death by Álvaro Enrigue
10) India - Narcopolis by Jeet Thayil

Recently I've read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (USA) and Let the Right One In (Sweden). The latter being very disturbing!! A good book no doubt, but it put a few images in my head that I definitely didn't want to have!
So, that's a total 7 out of 12 books read.

Ute Nation/ Cheyenne Nation (and others): Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West by Dee Brown
5/5 stars

Iran: The Blood of Flowers by Anita Amirrezvani
France: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
8/10

Tara - to even things up here - sorry Amanda! - I thought The Alchemist preachy, self-satisfied and poorly written. I rarely give 1 star but this was what it got. It is, however, short.
