message 402: by Anchita (new)

Anchita (autumn02) Hello! I'm Anchita, 17, a student with a keen passion to read. I prefer reading Thriller, Mystery and crime books. Gillian Flynn's works secure the top spot of my favorites. Agatha Christie is another Mastermind I prefer reading in whodunnit books. Romance and Love stories bore me to death. I can't stand the cheesy love confessions (innate disability maybe). I also enjoy popular fantasies with a guaranteed awesomeness. (because I bought the Hobbit and didn't like it very much now I check the reviews thoroughly before buying any fantasy books). And of course, Harry Potter series too procure a good spot in my favorites list.
Looking forward to meeting some amazing people and amazing books here.
Thank you!

Pali Reen (mpsreen) | 4 comments Hi Everybody,
I am from Delhi and an author with 3 published books. I started reading and writing sometime in my teens. They were mostly books from my father's library and my earliest writings were my personal diary and some short stories, nothing great but I have still preserved them since they were hand written. I have never counted how many books were there in my library or how many books I have read.
My first self published book is a romantic novel that digs into different relationships. No, 'An Expression of Two Eyes' is not my personal true story.
'Raising Pups & Children' and 'Letter from Dad' are books whose ideas came by sheer accident and got converted into books

I am generally open to any type of books, fiction so long as they are written well and have an interesting plot, as well as non-fiction.

Presently trying to find readers for my works.

I would like to end my introduction with a question - has anybody had something called a reader's block? I mean, that you just did not want to read anything?

Pali Reen

Amy (amy24) Hi everyone, I'm from India. Books are my best friends. I love my books and my coffee. I love to read books from different genres. I have joined this group much later than all you so I hope I will be able to fit in.

Ben M. | 4 comments On average, how long does it take you to read an average length book (350-400 pages)?

Ananya (nerdyfirefly) Hi, everyone! I am Ananya form Kolkata. I joined Goodreads like 2 days ago na du have absolutely no idea how to go about it! I love reading and have been since I was 8 years old. I like listening to music too.
Fave series:
1. Harry Potter
2. Throne of Glass
3. Spell Weaver
( The second and third might change with time!)

Another unimportant fact about me is that I am an introvert and would rather read a book than talk to people! Right now, I am a junior in high school (will be a senior after a couple of months). My fave subjects are English and Maths. The three Cs of my life are Chicken, Chocolate and Cottage Cheese. Yummm...

My 2019 Personal Reading Challenge is 100 books. 2/100 done.
I think this is enough for now.

Ben M. | 4 comments Expose yourself to James Baldwin, Toni Morrison and Erik Larsen. The writing doesn't any better than those three and each represents a different genre, style of writing and POV.

Enjoy

PS But do to out and meet people.

Ramla Zareen Ahmad | 43 comments Hi all,

Hope you're fine :-)

I joined the group a few years ago, but its been a while since I was active here, so I thought it might be a good idea to re-introduce myself. This way I could perhaps catch up with old friends and get connected with the new members :-)

My name is Ramla Zareen, and I'm an avid reader of mystery and romance books, these days leaning more towards light-hearted contemporary romances.

Some of my favourite romance authors include: Judith McNaught, Julie James, Robin Bielman, Jennifer Shirk, Kristan Higgens, Rachael Anderson, Ashley Mallory, Zeenat Mahal, Adite Banerjie, Sapna Bhog, Mahi Jay, Shilpa Suraj, Ruchi Vasudeva ...and the list goes on, lol.

One great news at my end is that I'm now also a self-published author on Amazon!

My book is titled The One for Me The One for Me by Ramla Zareen Ahmad

It's a light-hearted, romantic fiction, set in modern-day Pakistan.

I love connecting with fellow book-lovers, so please feel free to send me a friend request if you wish to :-)

Thank you!
